For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page

I had to read your post a few times stuffit, I don't know why it was confusing. Is probably me.

Guadacarrot, I quite like that.

I am having a cooking day seen as it's raining. There is an enormous tomato, bean and onion soup bubbling in the mothership and after Franny's tea temptations, I am going to bake a strawberry and cream sponge. If I can find the sodding discs to go in the sponge pans that is.

TooTicky · 07/06/2008 13:05

Musical sponge pans? Computerised ones?

Guadalupe · 07/06/2008 13:23

eh?

FrayedKnot · 07/06/2008 13:44

Hello all

Everyone sounds very domesticated and homely today

I have gymmed today (hadn;t been for about 10 days) and it was hard work.

I also had a lie in 'til 9 o' clock

Can;t remember the last time that might have happened. I was up for a while at 4.50 am though, trying to persuade DS to go back to sleep

Now I have just written a long list of things to do this afternoon and plonked down in front of the PC

PILs are coming to stay next weekend

Hopefully I will not be posting that we have just had a 2 hour row about getting DS christened, this time next week

Erm..an apple, celery, pepper.

stuffedaubergine · 07/06/2008 13:56

clattering and cooking day sounds v cosy and welcoming
no it's me being inarticulate I'm sure

we've got blardy rain! tis not fair
going to see an international hockey match soon instead of the school dinner dance ball
it's meant to be a family activity but my eldest is phoning round all his mates hunting an escape route

TooTicky · 07/06/2008 14:21

The discs. Guadalupe.

FrannyandZucchini · 07/06/2008 15:08

I gymmed
I felt great actually
and I have been wary of saying it in case it jinxes it, but walking has been much more comfortable for 2 days now
true to form I have managed to work out a worrying conclusion from this though - the baby must have turned and gone breech and got its head off my pelvis
I wonder if it actually has
it's bottom certainly feels very large and hard now

I am waiting for friends who are stuck in traffic
I am very very hungry indeed

FrannyandZucchini · 07/06/2008 15:09

oh it's persistently raining here also
and it's the weekend of the re-enactment nobboids folk
I genuinely feel sorry for them (they camp out and do their thing all weekend) but dp is sniggering mercilessly

OP posts:
FrannyandZucchini · 07/06/2008 15:10

oi Loopylou are you going to rise to my annoying new nicknames for you or will I have to make them WORSE

OP posts:
TooTicky · 07/06/2008 15:17

Hope your friends turn up soon Frannimosity. Well, before you eat the table or something.

Guadalupe · 07/06/2008 16:01

Rise to them, Frannoir? oh no, the only thing rising is my fat vanilla sponge. Arf. Why does that sound rude??

I like Guadalupe, it is growing on me. I feel apronless and free of root.

It is odd people not knowing who you are though, and I'm not sure this is permanent, but MrsCarrot has gone for good. Oh yes.

My mother arrived early. We were just sitting down to the soup so I said would you like some? She said, well, I had some soup at 11.30 because I hadn't eaten yesterday...

Oh, right, I say. what do you say to that? Why didn't you eat yesterday you weirdo? No, this is what she wants me to say, then she can shrug and tell me how she didn't get a chance and she grabbed a biscuit but that was it and then I will say oh but you must eat you know, you'll waste away and so on.

So I just say, oh right, and carry on serving. Well, she says, that was at 11.30, I'll just have the juice. WTF? It's a tomato and onion soup, but I scoop off the liquid and give her a bowl without onion or bean as she doesn't like vegetables.

Then my sister arrives, unexpectedly, this never happens. They both receive some sponge cake but my mother moans that her portion is smaller and takes my sisters. She pretends she is joking but does not swap back.

She gives ds2 a Noddy comic. He is 16 months and looks at it blankly. Then, my mother and sister both burst into song warbling the Noddy theme tune in its entirety. I say that he does not know it as they seem to expecting him to join in and they say, he will.

Then she is gone, just like that, swerving off down the road as if she is drunk. I need a drink.

Boco · 07/06/2008 17:36

Has MrsCarrot really gone for good? The more I know you in real life the less MrsCarroty you are. Your mother's visit does sound perplexing. That argument by brownpaper on the other thread doesn't quite work in real life does it, no matter how grateful you are to have them, it doesn't stop the irritation swelling and welling.

Fil, on holiday, spent half an hour telling me about his supplier of enlarger bulbs, and how their headquarters was based in Clifton, but then he was reading a camera equipment magazine and saw in an advert they had produced that they've actually moved their base to Chingford! Usually I'd let it wash over me, but with no sleep, I wanted to scream, and grab him and shake him and yell 'why, why would I care?, why would you tell me this stuff! dd is on a drip, I have not had food, I want to go home! Can you not see that you are making my ears bleed???'.

But I just nodded and said 'gosh, really?'.

FrannyandZucchini · 07/06/2008 18:21

am happy to be Frannoir or Franzo or whatever but Frannimosity bit harsh I think

am full
oh dear
I have had large quantities of green veg among other things
probably about 4 portions actually, is that possible or likely?

OP posts:
Boco · 07/06/2008 18:35

Franacious-Zee?

FrannyandZucchini · 07/06/2008 18:35

now that's just silly

OP posts:
FrannyandZucchini · 07/06/2008 18:36

and I have had enough of lugging this vegetable around with me
off to change

OP posts:
FrannyandZooey · 07/06/2008 18:38

aahhhhhhhhhh
that's better

I started packing my hospital bag today
shit I am actually going to HAVE this baby aren't I?
blimey nora

TooTicky · 07/06/2008 19:17

Sorry Frannypops.
Or FrannySmith for your fruitier moments.

Yes Franny, oh bumptious one, you are going to have a baby. The reality strikes at odd times, doesn't it?
I dod't think I really believed I was going to have a baby at all until I saw dd1. It's all so surreal isn't it?

FrannyandZooey · 07/06/2008 19:57

oh much nicer thank you TooT
we like 'pops' in this house, we have all kinds of nicknames with pops in

does anyone believe I had 4 portions of green veg? the portion sizes confuse me on the chart
I would like to see photos and examples

did I report gym? I did 15 mins on arm thing which is called 'Windjammer' apparently is like sailing some kind of boat
some free weights on birth ball including a lovely swingy thing where you kind of whoosh them about and bounce up and down at the same time
if someone walks behind you they hopefully don't get in the way
chest machine
did rowing and triceps on the cable thing
calf things on birth ball
and a groovy hip rotation

littlerach · 07/06/2008 20:03

Groovy hip roatation indeed!

And in your ocndition

Delicious teeny new potatoes in butter
Brocoilli and carrots

Filo tart with peppers and tomtoes and I htink mushrooms in.

Rasberries

grapes

Apple

Does it look like more if I space it out a lot?

FrayedKnot · 07/06/2008 20:08

Evening

Franzo reminded me of something off Fraggle Rock. Frannoir sounds sophisticated though.

Guad, can we call you Guad? Or Guada...or Lupe? Lupie? Does your mother really eat no vegetables at all? I worked with a bloke once who wouldn;t eat anything green, but I think he ate sweetcorn and carrots.

Frannoir, I only needed to take one look at you the other day, and I thought, this woman is with child and will bear forth.

I'm surprised you hadn;t twigged.

Guadalupe · 07/06/2008 21:25

I Like Frannoir too

Fk - my mother only eats peas. They are the only vegetable I don't like. There may be a pattern. Sorry I rabbited on, not too much to complain about really. She is not a weirdo, she is eccentric, she is not a weirdo she is eccentric...

Tomato tart with olive polenta and watercress for dinner. May have more strawberry cake soon.

TooTicky · 07/06/2008 21:35

Guadalupe, what do you do with yopur polenta? Do you buy it in a block or cook it yourself? I buy it then worry that it will stick to the pan so use it in bread.
You need an abbreviation btw. MrsC was a handy size, Guadalupe (while very good!) soounds as if you are wearing a large head dress and smacks of formality.

Today I have eaten homemade pizza (tomato, pepper, sweetcorn, hint of mushroom. Homegrown garlic and parsley.) And an apple and a half.

One of my teeth and my jaw and my head ache. I am tired, sniffly, hot of head and thoroughly unpleasant to be with. Am wondering if pmt is involved.
People keep shouting at me

I am going to take my moans to bed.
Night all

FrannyandZooey · 07/06/2008 21:40

MrsC's new nickname is Loopy
she likes it

I am trying to pack a bag for the hospital
it is impossible
you might need 6 of everything so you have to take 6 of everything
my bag is too small
