For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page

I'm doing the race for life as well but not until July 20th. I think pink will be rather quicker than me .

FILLYYYYYYYYYY

You were here and I missed you

I have eaten two saNDWICHES GENEROUISLY FILLED WITH WATERCRESS, CUCUMBER AND TOMATO. Also veggie bolognese with lots of veg in it.
And I invented some bloody marvellous chocolate and raisin flapjacks

TooTicky · 15/05/2008 22:10

Haven't actually read much thread but Bero, have you considered co-sleeping with both boys?

TooTicky · 15/05/2008 22:27

Have to take ds2 back to hospital tomorrow morning for ultrasound. I have talked about how interesting it will be but he doesn't agree. Have also told him that if he can't manage to do it he will have to stay in again and have another "special sleep" while they do it, and he said, "Then I could have white toast again".

That's because of the vegetables.

TooTicky · 15/05/2008 23:13

So, where is Lully?

berolina · 15/05/2008 23:20

TooT - good luck (and bon courage to ds) for tomorrow. - We did co-sleep all together until about a month ago, and it is so (tbh) liberating to have him in his own bed/room now - and dh is sleeping in there with him atm, at ds1's request - and so I really should leave him to sort it out - it's just so difficult. There's not been a peep from him tonight, but last night he must have woken 5 or 6 times and every time gave me palpitations.

I am feeling better. Have had no drugs, except the Joy of Baking Success, some Dairy Milk and a hot bath.

FrannyandZooey · 16/05/2008 07:59

I don't remember vegetables ever being the raison d'etre for this thread (well apart from in name)
we have always had a marvellous knack for veering wildly off the subject
which is why of course it is so enjoyable on here

strawberries, blueberries, pineapple, raisins, grapes

They didn't do the ultrasound thingy on ds2, instead they will examine him under GA the week after next.

TooTicky · 16/05/2008 13:14

Not sore but still very sensitive to light. He's coping very well but is upset that he still needs eye drops and can't go swimming yet

OsmosisBanana · 16/05/2008 15:06
