For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page

oh dear, dd2 is 3 months now, I am running out of excuses

Fillyjonk · 15/05/2008 09:20

hello tatties!

(it is mad though franny, how can it possibly be only 7.5 weeks you have left? HOW?)

berolina · 15/05/2008 11:48

hello filly!

I am very tired. ds2 kept waking, ds1 kept waking crying. ds1 is really dh's 'job' at night but I am so 'on duty' all the time that I go to him anyway, I can't bear it. He wakes me across a hall and through 2 doors.

There is lots of christening stuff to do. I need to stay on top of things. I am not sure how we are going to manage a family of fur staying or 2 nights in our 2-bed flat. (I obviously mean a family of four, but I loved the typo too much to delete it. Am imagining mice or squirrels scurrying around the living room).

ds2 will not be put down, and is not happy for very long in sling either. Wtf am I doing wrong that he keeps trying to launch himself out of it backwards?

UnderRated · 15/05/2008 14:51

GOod luck, Bero. No idea about DS2 - do you have a different kind of sling you can try?

Hello everyone else. Filly, that icecream looks fab. Impressive bump, Fra

FrayedKnot · 15/05/2008 15:43

Good heavens Franny, how did you get Tatties' birthing ball under your skirt?

3andnomore · 15/05/2008 15:44

Franny, wow, that is a fabulous bump....reminds me of my bump when I was pg with Flynn....
I can't believe that you only have somehting like 7 1/2 weeks left....and good on you to still go to the Gym...Nell Mc-Andrews went into labour whilst doing a Bodypump class or somehting like that...

Fillyjonk · 15/05/2008 18:07

I am going to try to do the couch to 5k thing I think

I am trying to work out if I can leave dd2 with dp for 30 minutes in the morning...

UnderRated · 15/05/2008 18:11

It's great, Filly. I thought I wouldnb't manage it but I can. And I'm the laziest arse you'll ever meet.

berolina · 15/05/2008 18:56

Just finishing big bowl of pumpkin soup. Other F&V = the end bits of several carrots when they got too small to grate without grating knuckles too; OJ; banana. Not great. When ds1 is in bed and ds2 hopefully happily asleep in dh's arms, I will be baking carrot and coriander muffins for the christening and carrot cake for ds1 to take to kindergarten as pre-birthday celebration tomorrow. The Germans have a superstitious horror of pre-celebrating birthdays, and the (fabulous) kindergarten teacher actually looked severely worried when I asked if it would be OK (he prob won't be going on Monday as we are delivering guests to airports and stations, and ds1 loves both). But she agreed to let me do it 'as long as I wouldn't blame them if something happened to ds1 over the weekend' .

Went to lovely hippy baby accoutrements shop this afternoon (Franny, the one where I got those bits for dc2) for advice on sling. They showed me a trick that has really helped. Nice walk afterwards, with ds1 smelling plants and pretending to be a train.

I have a sore throat. It hurts when I swallow just under my ears. I am going to spend my son's christening sniffling, with a nose to match my dress.

UnderRated · 15/05/2008 19:31

Gosh, Bero. Hope you feel much better very soon. Happy Baking. Carrot and Coriander muffins sound yum

pinkspottywellies · 15/05/2008 19:39

Hello!!

Hi Filly. We've not 'met' before but I know of you. (hope that doesn't sound stalker-y!

I'm doing my 5k race for life on Sunday having started from the couch in January. Couch to 5k is amazing. Couldn't have done it without the podcast.

DD woke last night at about midnight and had a huge bf but wouldn't have it again tonight. Funny girl. We'll just see how she goes I guess.

I've eaten crap again today. Raisins, seeds, nuts [desperate], cucumber, tomato, lettuce, kiwi, pineapple, peas, soya beans, asparagus, broccoli. 10 varieties but not 10 portions. Oh well. Not horrendous.

Hope everyone's well.

UnderRated · 15/05/2008 19:48

Well done PSW, am v impressed

berolina · 15/05/2008 19:57

Well done and good luck PSW! I should re-take up running. I enjoyed it. I am sloooooooooow but have plenty of stamina.

Thank you UR for good wishes. Sadly the backs of my legs hurt [wtf?] It is an extension of the slight pain you get there when you've walked miles and miles. I did walk a few km today, but nothing that should have caused this. I am undecided between paracetamol, magnesium, and a glass of red.

UnderRated · 15/05/2008 20:05

Take it all, Bero. You are in need
