Is there a strange virus going around?

This is a really odd one!
started on Friday with a very sudden sore throat. Low grade fever overnight, woke to awful muscle pains, neck ache and a general feeling of low level unwell.
Saturday felt off with a running nose and aches and pains. Kept feeling warm and waves of nausea. Overnight into Sunday stomach pains started with diarrhoea and nausea, snotty nose, shivery, headache.
Symptoms are coming and going, feel a bit better one minute then headachey and off the next. Every time I eat I get stomach cramps and loose stool. Not positive for Covid (old tests tho).

It’s the stomach issues that are unusual, it’s like a low level flu bug but with a bad stomach too.

Anyone else have this?

I have just tested negative after a positive Covid test last week. Felt shit all week, but had no gastro symptoms at all.
Sore throat - fever - aches and pains - fatigue - dry cough - headache.

Well it's Covid isn't it? Ear problems have always been common with it. I've had tinnitus for two years since an especially bad bout of it.

I'm in a&e waiting for swab and blood results

I had diarrhoea last weekend and cold symptoms all week. Weirdly, I feel fine for a few hours and then suddenly feel exhausted and shivery with my nose running like a tap then it stops for a while. I’ve been wondering if I have an allergy but don’t think so.

Does anyone know why people often feel fine for a few hours and then the symptoms hit you like a ton of bricks again?

I tested positive for Covid, (swabbed throat) symptoms much the same. After three weeks today is the first day I felt well and I had anti virals. And yes I would feel OK then two hours later be flat out on the sofa again. Still have zero smell or taste though.

Yeah, exactly the same symptoms - it was covid. Three quarters of the office have had it, bloody horrible.

How long have you had this for? I’ve got diarrhoea and I can’t eat anything without having to dash to the loo straight afterwards. Also got awful stomach pain, indigestion, bad abdominal bloating, sweating, fatigue.

Edited to add, just seen you’ve got campylobacter. Think whatever I’ve got is viral.

I thought it was flu, then maybe noro and it was when the diarrhoea didn't stop I felt something wasn't right at all

I will go to the doctor if I’m still not right in a couple of days. I’m having diarrhoea multiple times a day and it’s debilitating!

Yeah I would, I went and said I just have this feeling that something is really wrong
The doctor said my heart rate was high and I was dehydrated and because I'm immunocompromised they sent me to hospital

They did a poo swab and bloods and were really lovely

Exactly my symptoms. I went out and bought a single covid test from Boots... and I was covid positive. I'm week 3 now. Still not totally back to full health but getting there. Get well soon!

Definitely sounds like Covid.
Tests aren't picking it up. There are 5 of us in our house down with it - same symptoms, similar timelines and picked it up at the same event. Three testing positive and two not.

DD tested negative for several days longer than the rest of us, and was actually still testing negative when she first ended up in hospital (she's very vulnerable health wise) with it.

How long did the diarrhoea phase last for? Am hoping (?) it’s like a 24hr stomach bug?

Yes I had this a few weeks ago. Had the most painful sinus headache and pain in my right eye that lasted for 8 days, started with a sore throat that came on very suddenly. Covid test was negative. I was dosed up on paracetamol and ibuprofen all week, and still felt like I couldn't function and wasn't touching the head pain. It was awful, hope everyone feels better soon 💐

It's likely to be covid all the symptoms are Covid . I have Covid at the moment.
Throat swabs rather than nasal seem to work the best with this latest variety. I had several negative tests with full symptoms.

But I agree the tests don't seem as quickly reactive this time around.

I managed about 8 hours before I took an imodium instant. Fortunately it worked as the diarrhoea had been every 10 minutes and I was exhausted and needed to sleep.
