For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page

I will never get to try a mooncup

BBBee · 14/04/2008 16:07

oh yes mrs c - emeralds sound very nice (and a bit less menstural than rubies IYKWIM) and i think three in an art deco ring is very you.

BBBee · 14/04/2008 16:07

and the cardigan and some chocolate for good measure.

MrsCarrot · 14/04/2008 16:13

Menstrual rubies - nice!

The slouchy cardigan is very appealing, especially today, there is a storm again, it keeps raining as they come out of school. I quite like storms though.

Fullmoonfiend · 14/04/2008 16:50

blimey, this thread is moving fast...

a volunteer at work is doing the marathon next year for our charity and keep trying to persuade me to run it with her., She seems to think because I am slim and energectic that I am fit!!
I keep telling her I could not walk a marathon, let alone run one (I have terrible knee probs - probably arthritis) but she still keeps trying to persuade me

Very poor F&V day as I have been very ethical and reducing waste - by eating all the leftover cake from yesterday

BBBee · 14/04/2008 17:18

I bought some supplements today - this is a good sign because it means I am thinking about things.

I take:

evening primrose oil
multi vit with iron
vit b complex
ginko bilobo (sp!)

what do you take?

Fullmoonfiend · 14/04/2008 17:21

vit b omplex, glucosamate sulphate, vit c

eternalstudent · 14/04/2008 17:39

nytol

IdrisTheDragon · 14/04/2008 17:43

Where did I come in the veggers list BBBee?

BBBee · 14/04/2008 17:47

oh you did quite well idris but this is all my perception - i think you were near carrot and stuffit and i rate them so yes - you did well.

FrannyandZooey · 14/04/2008 17:51

at ranking the veggers
[stern] what an un-10/10 idea Bee
was I near the top?
I have NO interest in hearing where I came

and I said we should all be more POSITIVE about ourselves this week

took ds to gym, was grand success and I slipped away for 10 mins to do cycling in gym
so I got my exercise 10 Halo

MrsC that must feel very strange. If you want a quick go on a Mooncup I can fax mine to you. Otherwise I think the 3 stone ring idea is beautiful
I also like those Victorian rings where the stones spell out a message - I can't think of an example though

ok so those of us who want to do 27 natural foods just jump in and start doing it
it does open up wonderful new avenues of bickering as we have no definitive list of what counts

last time TooT said it wasn't natural to eat cow's milk and I have to concede her point
which does rather leave me struggling cheeseless though

aha but I have cooked a big vat of butternut, sweetpotato, mushroom and red lentil plodge
I have a plan to put aside one frozen meal a week between now and the baby arriving, so we can have some decent stuff in between the pizzas and so on. I hope this works out. So far I have 2 meals.

I am feeling quite positive about vegginess and exerciseness at the moment .

Just made lovely cauliflower cheese. I enjoyed it, DD had a bit and DS refused .

I was adding up how much walking I have done today.

Walk to school (10 min)
Walk back from school (15 min due to detour to see lorry place)
Walk to school (10 min)
Walk back (15 min as above_
Walk to pre-school (5 min)
Walk to playground with DS (10 min)
Semi strenous exercise ie zip wire, climbing up large climbing frame thing, going up climbing slope (being beaten by 4 year old), running out of the sudden hail storm to shelter
Walk back from playground (15 min) with DS persuading me to run a bit
Walk to pre-school (5 min)
Walk back from pre-school (10 min with lorry diversion).

My bottom and thighs are pleased with this .

MrsCarrot · 14/04/2008 17:59

Thank you, Franny, but how would you fax a mooncup?

What list? Where are the veggers ranked? Where am I and do I get extra marks for veggie name?

IdrisTheDragon · 14/04/2008 18:15

I think BBBee has made a list. Or possibly not. Maybe she is pretending to have made a list so that we all strive to be high up on it.

Fullmoonfiend · 14/04/2008 18:20

where am I? Where am I??

BBBee · 14/04/2008 18:21

lol no it iwas purely to entertain myself as i was thinking i was doing a bit better and maybewasn't the crappest vegger and i have got better by emulaating some people on here.

it was purely my perception and I am a terribnle skim reader - e.g. psw will never do well because i remember her eating a bacon sandwich and avi will always raank highly because she drinks coffee.

see - completely abbritory.

Fullmoonfiend · 14/04/2008 18:23

but what about mmeeeeeee

MrsCarrot · 14/04/2008 18:24

that looks very like abbatoir, BBBee, for a burgeoning veggie

TigerFeet · 14/04/2008 18:37

Today:

Branflakes with dried fruit (1)[5? see below]
Aforementioned humungernormous bowl of soup (3)[11]
apple (1)[1]
2 satsumas (1)[1]
tea will be sausages in onion gravy with butternut squash and sweet potato mash, carrots and peas (4)[5]
a couple of bites of a cunting plum (0)[1]
glass of orange & mango juice (1) [2]

so that'll be 11 then - hurrah

or a possible 26/27

really not sure about how to count the branflakes dried fruit wrt 27ing, do we count the branflakes, and also the fruit came from a premixed bag of dates, raisins, apricots and cranberries that probably have sulphates in them

I may have to eat some seeds or something to get to the 27

TigerFeet · 14/04/2008 18:40

and what, pray, is wrong with counting black pepper?

zippitippitoes · 14/04/2008 18:40

i have read this

i always have diufficulty remembering it after my excuse is this is a fast brain bipolar thing which seems to have got worse l;ately

i dont seem to be able to read as well or remeber college stuff

i ahve read the little bits of baby book..i enjoyed it but think the one i sent franny was better and i have forgotten the titl which is evidence

i ahve just been flirting with kwik fit ditters which cost me 220 quid and will be another 200 on thurs for my brakes and then i have to have a service and an mot i am having a very bad ostrich attitude to money as onec the money from exh runs out i will be broke again and more in debt obvs

where is boco going have a good time anyway

and bbee i take vit c evening primrose vit b comlex and gingko and iron schets whatever its called sometimes and did take cq10 but havent for a while as i have to not spend some money somewhere

was going to say something to tigerfet how do you find all the caffeine affects you alongside ads

and idris said something interesting and stuffit but i cant remember it

and fmv good on the cake leftovers

an d where do i rank in vegginess

FrannyandZooey · 14/04/2008 18:44

god if Pink is low down for eating a bacon sandwich I am fucked
how does Avi rank HIGHLY for drinking coffee ffs?

Bee this is a disgrace

Tiger I don't know about the bran flakes. I mean they are not really a natural food as such but obviously they did come from a natural food. We can have exciting schisms over it
yes I think you count each dried fruit - I think the idea is that you not only end up eating a large quantity of f+v but also a large variety - even if it is little weeny bits of each thing
I dunno though, we have sought clarification from the doctor himself and got nowhere
so let's make it up as we go along

OP posts:
FrannyandZooey · 14/04/2008 18:44

and as for black pepper
well if I have a curry that will be about 12 straight away won't it?

zippitippitoes · 14/04/2008 18:44

mrs c should get jewellery

i have a troll bracelet not exactly originalbut which was my 50th birthday thing which dp and children were then supposed to add to for birthdays and christmas etc but got off to a bad start as obviously i paid for it myself and although i chose it with dp he went 3 weeks later so a bit horrid of him to give me the impression we were getting a sort of memory thing when he knew already he was leaving

any way i have added to it since a lithuasnian amber bead and a bead like a wave for when we went to wales and dd2 bought me two beads for xmas
