For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page

oh god hair!
I was planning on getting it cut before the thing but forgot. It's really big and long again and a total mess. I don't know. I'd forgot to think about it. Maybe up.

FrayedKnot · 13/04/2008 17:33

I have been for a walk in the driving rain/sleet/hail with DS

It was great to get out actually

We have a special plastic turner rod thingy for our composter

DH did it the first time and I did it last time...started to turn it at about 1/3 full otherwise it gets increasingly difficult

Since DH tunred it it has shrunk down a lot which is hopeful

I also emptied out some spent compost from last year's pots into it (I read to do that somewhere) which have made a layer for the other stuff to get toasty underneath

I think we will have to get anotehr composter later this year. It is pretty difficult to manage with one imo. Perhaps you need a wormery one Franny if you only have room for one....

zippitippitoes · 13/04/2008 17:37

UnderRated · 13/04/2008 17:38

Hello

Got up late (due to insomnia - poor excuse, I know)

No gym yesterday. I meant to go. But I didn't. May go today.

Food: 1/2 chocolate bunny. Tea.

BBBee · 13/04/2008 17:41

did you see my jeans, husky top and tiara idea? that was a winner boco.

Boco · 13/04/2008 17:41

Lovely pictures zip, lithuania looks lovely , you and bf look very happy and relaxed.

zippitippitoes · 13/04/2008 17:42

do get your hair done boco if yiou can

what is a husky top

BBBee · 13/04/2008 17:42

lithuania looks chic zip , so do you.

Boco · 13/04/2008 17:42

I'll just do that then Bee. Getting to the point where I will just take any advice at all with blind panic obedience.

Looked at husky top again. It's actually marvelous.

Boco · 13/04/2008 17:44

I don't think I can get hair done, leaving tomorrow, no time. Maybe product instead.

BBBee · 13/04/2008 17:45

i like your hair - it will be fine. I think loose and carefree.

Boco · 13/04/2008 17:48

It is carefree. It doesn't care about the usual laws of gravity and good grooming.

UnderRated · 13/04/2008 17:48

Lovely photos, zippi. Lithuania looks pretty and you both look very happy.

zippitippitoes · 13/04/2008 18:04

wel i have tried on my new bras and they arent too bad the new look 34 d one seems to fit the best

so i have a good range of bras from a 40c downwards

UnderRated · 13/04/2008 18:07

That's a good range of bras, zippi. You must have lost a lot of weight.

zippitippitoes · 13/04/2008 18:09

most of it off my breasts it seems lol

i lost 4.5 stone or in fact a bit more

tho i do like quite porky in that pic by the lake but it could be the five layers of clothes i had on

UnderRated · 13/04/2008 18:10

You certainly don't look porky, zippi.

How did you lose over 4 stone?

zippitippitoes · 13/04/2008 18:13

didnt you read any of my posts on the subject..i have been quite boring about it

i went from 14st7 to just under 10st

by exercising and eating less

it took a year

from nov 2006 was when i started

so in dec 2006 i bought a next coat in size 20

and now i have one in size 10

UnderRated · 13/04/2008 18:19

Crikey, zippi. I knew you had lost weight but didn't realise quite how much and how quickly. That's very impressive. Well done.

pinkspottywellies · 13/04/2008 18:26

Boco your hair is lovely, cascading and wavy and long and lovely.

Zippi, how do you find keeping the weight off? Do you have enough motivation from not wanting to be bigger again? I'm trying to lose some more but keep wanting to eat the wrong stuff! I think weight maintenence is a full on mindset. You seem to have to think about it all the time if your natural setting is piggy like me!

zippitippitoes · 13/04/2008 18:30

i am paranoid about putting it back on

and in fact i am quite flabby

i feel that if it did go back on that would be it really i cant see myself going through all the weight on weight off thing again

but i have managed so far

and i have to keep getting my kit off which is rather a big incentive

and you can buy more clothes from cheap shops

and i can do this climbing thing and whatnot

so i keep checking my weigh all the time

it would be harder if i lived with someone and ate their food tho

it seems all men have a junk defailt setting for food..and they want it all the time

UnderRated · 13/04/2008 18:37

Yes, that would be hard. I'd be worried about putting it all back on too. You must be very determined and strong willed to have done so well.

zippitippitoes · 13/04/2008 18:40

i am very determined and strong willed

it is how i survived this long

my weight was really making me hate myself when i decided to get rid of it i felt a real old frump and unfit and i was drinking loads every night too

FrannyandZooey · 13/04/2008 18:42

oh sorry zip, I know you weren't being argumentative, but I hate that 'farm animals would die out' thing
someone else may have lots of sensible things to say about it

the pictures are v good, I was admiring your layers and you didn't look porky

when is bf on tv again? is it this Monday?

agree Boco's hair is fab

have been to gym, did slow bike for 20 mins and slow treadmill for 10 mins and slow weights slowly
then ate cucumber, lettuce, basil, tomato, black eyed bean, red pepper and cheese salad with wraps

so is it peapods or mangoes, I lost track?

OP posts:
zippitippitoes · 13/04/2008 18:43

actually i get a lot of my motivation in these things and anything i do in the feeling that people think i cant do it

i like to prove them wriong

same as when dp left he and exh thought i would fall apart so i wasnt going to
