For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page

Am I doing what, Bee?

Franny! No! Truly? How sad.

FrannyandZooey · 07/04/2008 09:36

I'm sorry MrsC
it is the bad example set by his parents I expect
I will try to talk him round
(YOU get to pay for the wedding, right?)
he did say he wanted a party, with cake, so we only have to add in a quick walk up the aisle first and then we are sorted

Good morning

Ds2 is having an eye test this morning, because he wanted one. Will be an experience anyway.

Am eating muesli but dd2 has control of the spoon.

FrannyandZooey · 07/04/2008 09:36

you are ok about the manatee bit then, I take it?

OP posts:
FrannyandZooey · 07/04/2008 09:37

oh eye tests are quite nice I think

It is cold but we don't have snow. Who has snow? Can we have some? Please?

FrannyandZooey · 07/04/2008 09:46

we have had sleet
do you want some of that?

OP posts:
TooTicky · 07/04/2008 09:48

Mmm, no thanks. I have washing to dry and sleet can be a bit miserable.

TooTicky · 07/04/2008 09:49

[fussy]

FrannyandZooey · 07/04/2008 09:50

Hello, is this Smiths?

Back from London trip which was good. How is everybody?

Nice to see you MrsC, hope your holiday was good.

MrsCarrot · 07/04/2008 09:56

Oh yes, of course, DD has always wanted one of those.

Hi Boco - what did you wear?

Toot - Did he feel he had a problem with his eyes or did he just announce he wanted an eye test?

Boco · 07/04/2008 09:58

It wasn't for the show - that's next week, so I won't bore you with what I wore unless you really want to know.

MrsCarrot · 07/04/2008 10:05

Ok, I think I can live without knowing whether you wore boot-cut or demi-flare with a red or green sweater.

Boco · 07/04/2008 10:07

Oh, really?
Fine. [sniffy]

Fullmoonfiend · 07/04/2008 10:21

Hello Boco and all. Do you feel a little more restored?

We have no plans for summer - I'm quite glad I dithered so much back in Jan over booking somewhere as Dh is still not earning any dosh. We will do a festival and do lots of wholesome camping and hopefully we will have the boat up north by then so will be ideal weekend bolthole. Doesn't that make us sound middleclass . If only you could all see it, tis not posh or m/c

BBBee · 07/04/2008 10:22

boco - your back!

I have to dash as I have to go to supermarket local market and I need to put on make up first as I am feeling old and tired.

Will talk to you later - BTW have been a nobbo again.

xx

Fullmoonfiend · 07/04/2008 10:28

is that just boco you will talk to later? or all of us ?

MrsCarrot · 07/04/2008 10:35

yeah, Bee, have you gone all splinter quiche on us?

Fullmoonfiend · 07/04/2008 10:58

MrsC, fancy a slice of splinter quiche with me?? How are you?

Boco · 07/04/2008 11:11

splinter quiche sounds nice and wholemeal.

Bee is just referring to the fact that every time I go away, despite me telling her i'm going away, she sends facebook messages saying 'where the fuck are you?'

I'm not exactly refreshed, kind of - it was lovely and saw lots of people and had a very busy and quite exciting time, but am face numbingly shattered having not really slept much for days. 3 hours sleep on one day, followed by wandering around central london with all our luggage and the girls. They were fantastic though, so good. I don't know how people get around London on their own with kids though. At one point i had luggage, bag, dd2 fast asleep, dd1 drawing, and had to leap off tube and couldn't carry everything so had to just gather it all up including 3 year old and just drop them all in a big pile on the platform. Thought it would be easier when dp turned up but we ended up splitting up and staying in different places.

Need to do stacks of washing now.

Boco · 07/04/2008 11:12

Oh I don't mean we split up as in broke up, just stayed in different places.

FrannyandZooey · 07/04/2008 11:55

we have had great fun on tubes with ds
I did it once by myself and managed to do a very dramatic fall onto the train with me, 2 year old ds in sling, luggage and all in a lovely heap
another time we were stuck at bottom of escalators with luggage, me, ds, and pushchair - luckily dp there also but we STILL couldn't work out a way to get them all up without someone probably dying in horrible escalator fall, so dp went up the top with suitcase, left it, sprinted back down, and sprinted up again with pushchair, by which time (probably 45 secs) someone with a walkie talkie had grabbed the suitcase and was sending out a security alert

I can see it was not the right thing to do but still not sure how we could have managed it?

FrannyandZooey · 07/04/2008 11:57

I foraged for kiwi, pineapple, pear, banana, raisins for breakfast
probably 4 portions

am having chickpeas and avocado, cucumber and cream cheese in wraps for lunch
