For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page

morning

ll sorry about you and ds illnesses.

I agree with carrot about the long walk and sunday lunch.

I was talking to a little boy last week and I think I am going to resume my vegetarianism. I was explaining to him the concept of 'happy meat' and he looked at me all wide eyed and said 'but Bee it is still dead, they still kill it.' Have decided he is right.

Fullmoonfiend · 13/04/2008 10:18

I wish it was nice here. It is grey and rainy and I was so looking forwards to my day serving tea in castle grounds with follies, pleasure gardens, wildflower meadows and a lakeside walk
We still have to go, but it means there will be no-one to serve tea to ...

And I made Yorkshire Tea loaf,
Banana and date cake,
Cherry scones,
normal scones
and a zillion of those yummy little buns which you scoop out the middle and fill with raspberry jam and buttercream.

FrannyandZooey · 13/04/2008 10:19

oh good Bee, you will cancel out ds who ate 3 flumps at a party yesterday despite being told they were not vegetarian
the nihilism of it all

pity about the weather fmv

maybe it will brighten up

that expression reminds me of my mum

is it better for an animal never to have lived at all then

MrsCarrot · 13/04/2008 10:31

I will buy a lot a green stuff and watch the bee hives intently. Dc's are fascinated by this. I would send you some honey, Zippi but you would have to come and live here for it to be of any use.

FrannyandZooey · 13/04/2008 11:00

zippi yes of course
otherwise you could argue that slavery was ok as long as you bred plenty of people to BE slaves

it's very nice weather here
I am going to clean out my plastic container cupboard and go to the gym
those are not really very good activities for a nice sunny day are they? but I haven't got a basket or a market or any beehives

Bee and zippi don't seem to sleep anymore! How are you both still going? I stayed up until half three with friend recently and it took me about a week to recover. I had to go and sleep in a cinema.

Shiny happy peapods is nice! And so is the mango one.

Am trying to have a sorting day today as everything is a mess, but these days are rarely a success. [resigned]

FrannyandZooey · 13/04/2008 11:06

oh apparently I am in fact going to play with ds in the sandboat
I suppose that is more fresh airy at least

in a devils advocste sort of academic interest way rather than an awkward way

so ideally cows and sheep and hens etc would become extinct

most wild animals lead short brutal lives

what is the best for them

lullabyloo · 13/04/2008 11:09

Ds is v frustrated at my lack of voice
He is talking lots & demanding answers
It's pelting down here
We have absolutely no food for lunch & dh wont shift till marathon is over

when does the darn thing finish?

fmf..such a shame about the teas
can you divet via kent & bring it all here?

FrannyandZooey · 13/04/2008 11:10

the best thing can never be to be bred in captivity and then killed and eaten, zippi, no way

zippitippitoes · 13/04/2008 11:14

oh i took some dried apricots to lithuania and ate about third of a bag and had the most appalling stomach pains i thought i was going to have to go to hospital i was walking round a castle and had to keep stopping when a wave of pain completely took over

lullabyloo · 13/04/2008 11:21

He has medals, cups & trophies galore

Fullmoonfiend · 13/04/2008 11:23

running to me is the dullest of things to be interested unless you are actually running at the time poossible

lullabyloo · 13/04/2008 11:28
