Corroded my bum hole with bleach

This was very dumb.

Yesterday I was on the loo doing my business when I realised there was no loo roll.

No idea why I thought it would be a good idea to use anti bac wipes (kept next to the toilet for cleaning!). I thought it would be fine as I occasionally use them on my hands when I’m in a pinch (on a country walk with dog for eg).

Anyway I spent most of last night with the worst burning sensation ever. Brought tears to my eyes. I washed myself and took some ibuprofen before going to sleep.

Now that the burning pain has subsided my poor bum is really raw and sore. I’m very uncomfortable/borderline in pain but can put up with it after the hell that was last night.

What can I do beyond keeping myself clean?

Is a long walk a bad idea? The sun is shining and would love to take my dog out for a coffee and a long country walk.

Is there any point on putting on an ointment? I’m a bit wary as I’ve well and truly learned my lesson.

Do you have Sudocreme? If not, send someone out to get you some.

TheBeeb · 26/02/2024 16:10

Ouch! Sudocreme should sort it out

Will it burn on application?

Vaseline will help.

Note to self - Never use anti-bac wipes on my arsehole.

FedUpMumof10YO · 26/02/2024 16:12

Vaseline?

FedUpMumof10YO · 26/02/2024 16:13

Socks would be better next time.

Titanoboa · 26/02/2024 16:14

Germolene has an anaesthetic in it to numb it

Pigglyplaystruant99 · 26/02/2024 16:14

Vaseline - no - Sudocrem - yes.

Petrine · 26/02/2024 16:14

sudocreme won’t burn on application. It’s very soothing

Titanoboa · 26/02/2024 16:15

Germoloids has lidocaine in

Cuppachuchu · 26/02/2024 16:15

Sudocrem will soothe it.

FadedRed · 26/02/2024 16:16

Or a haemorrhoid cream like Anusol or Germoline ointments. Neither will sting and will be very soothing.

TooOldForThisNonsense · 26/02/2024 16:17

If you get a haemorrhoid cream that should help numb the area

HowDoWeDoThisPlease · 26/02/2024 16:18

I’d go for germoloids, it has some local anaesthetic, and zinc oxide which should help it too.

Socks would be better next time.

Or soap and water

DSD9472 · 26/02/2024 16:19

I'd speak to a pharmacist, or just buy hemorrhoid cream with anaesthetic in it. Ouch.

Lassiata · 26/02/2024 16:19

Vaseline. Not sudocrem.

NoCloudsAllowed · 26/02/2024 16:21

Sudocrem, I'd also spend as much time as possible with bare legs akimbo to let the air get to it.

Lottsdsjpys · 26/02/2024 16:21

I only have ads Lon. Would that be ok?

Lottsdsjpys · 26/02/2024 16:21

Savlon**

Lottsdsjpys · 26/02/2024 16:22

Also have Voltarol.

The tube of deep heat brought back memories from last night 😂

BoobyDazzler · 26/02/2024 16:25

I’d probably use metanium the baby bum cream.

Sounds very painful… I really don’t think a long walk would be wise 🤣

HangingOver · 26/02/2024 16:29

Savlon is great. I use it when I get the occasional tiny cut down there.

Compash · 26/02/2024 17:51

Woah, I've learned today... Sorry to hear of your 'ring of fire', but thank you for sharing your hard-earned wisdom with us for the good of all... (and yes, I'd leave the long walk for another day, and would advise germaloid cream, or even vagisil)... and, it goes without saying, see a doctor if it doesn't clear up soon. Bless you.
