Corroded my bum hole with bleach

This was very dumb.

Yesterday I was on the loo doing my business when I realised there was no loo roll.

No idea why I thought it would be a good idea to use anti bac wipes (kept next to the toilet for cleaning!). I thought it would be fine as I occasionally use them on my hands when I’m in a pinch (on a country walk with dog for eg).

Anyway I spent most of last night with the worst burning sensation ever. Brought tears to my eyes. I washed myself and took some ibuprofen before going to sleep.

Now that the burning pain has subsided my poor bum is really raw and sore. I’m very uncomfortable/borderline in pain but can put up with it after the hell that was last night.

What can I do beyond keeping myself clean?

Is a long walk a bad idea? The sun is shining and would love to take my dog out for a coffee and a long country walk.

Is there any point on putting on an ointment? I’m a bit wary as I’ve well and truly learned my lesson.

No Voltaren on your anus! Avoid anything except the haemorrhoid creams and zinc-based creams) sudocrem). Just have oral anti-inflammatories (your nurofen), a good goop of sudocrem and lie yourself down in the comfiest position until morning. No walks!! (speaking from experience). And if not better tomorrow, see your doctor.

Next time use water and jug like most of the global south do or a hose

Presumably the OP did not have either of these options handy when caught out without loo roll!

Having given myself a similar injury with an over zealous use of hair removal cream (skin removal not also mentioned on the tube), Savlon and a cool flannel were my friends.

If you don't mind me asking, what does a Sitzbath do for your discomfort? DH had them for fissures but preferred other treatment and couldn't articulate why, or how long the effects lasted.

How's your bumhole op?

Clean yourself gently and use some Savlon/Antiseptic ointment.
I have IBS so I know what a "raw bum" is like,
but please, never use these wipes on private parts. Mr. Hindsight.

Eep, don't use the Voltarol. My daft friend in desperation with terrible haemorrhoids tried using it and she said whilst it did work eventually it burned like hell. Not good on an already raw patch of skin.

Also I was recommended sitz baths by midwife post birth and IMO it did sweet FA. But maybe that's just me.

Just to think, some people pay good money to have their hole bleached. You’ve quite the fashionable bum hole, let that get you through the stinging ;)

Metanium is probably a good one to try it's for nappy so will treat the problem aswell as provide a barrier

Savlon or any sort of soothing hand cream.
