Anyone want to join me in a very easy peasy diet?

Wolfgirl · 18/03/2008 08:57

Im on hols in June so that is my incentive. Beginning of December I went of a cut down diet. All I did, was after my main meal at night, I ate.... NOTHING. No picking... chocolate, biscuits, popcorn (dont we love our popcorn on MN? , crisps....nothing. Oh and no pudding!

I lost nearly 1/2 stone just by not picking.

I ate what I liked during the day, biscuit, chocolate... what ever I liked, but just stopped at night.

I have to say, I did go to bed a little bit hungry, but felt so gooooooood the next day, especially as by the end of the first week my stomach had gone down considerably, and by the second week my clothes felt looser.

Who wants to join me? anyone?

MamaChris · 11/07/2008 22:15

cadelaide · 11/07/2008 22:16

Hello MamaChris, nice to speak to someone "live", iyswim.

Are you nibbling tonight?

cadelaide · 11/07/2008 22:55

Oh.

She's gone.

God, this thread is a lonely place, sometimes...

MamaChris · 12/07/2008 11:22

sorry I missed you cad! But kudos for having a handy bit of carrot nearby and keeping the chocolate well out of reach

Wolfgirl · 14/07/2008 08:50

Soory ladies, just a quick in and out - but just a note to Duo!

Cadelaide.... awwrrr. Sorry that no one was around for you. Hope you have a lovely day m'dear.

And sorry Ive not been around, but had a 'down' week in myself. I get like this sometimes, and no motivation or desire for anything. In fact this is where the diet goes to pot, and I start to pick and comfort eat. Hoping I will pick up this week! Also I was having a Table-top-sale at my house over the weekend (like a boot sale, but at home). There was so much work involved, pricing things up, ironing the kids clothes, cleaning shoes etc. Only a handful of folk turned up, but I made £100, better than a poke in the eye. Unfortunatley I have like zillions of things still to sell, and we really need some cash!!!! But I dont have a spare weekend now, till very end of September, at which point DH has promised that we will finally get to have our kitchen done. Only been waiting 3 years (and working with rickety floorboards, and half a kitchen (other half in the hall LOL). Anyway, I have stuff to sell, so will do BS at some point. The hard work is mostly done tbh, the pricing and labeling etc.

Hope you ladies are perky and ready for a new week.

hugs to you all, xx

Just checking in for tomorrow , have no idea what my weight will be.
I'll be around for a bit if anyone else is

MamaChris · 14/07/2008 21:09

had a "down week" myself too Wolfgirl, so share your pain. started really well too, but has totally gone to pot the last few days. i'm expecting a gain tomorrow tbh. damn.

still, that's the good thing about weekly weigh ins. tomorrow it's a clean slate and we can try and get up some renewed vigour Although that will only work if ds lets me get some sleep...

duomonstermum · 14/07/2008 23:30

i'm baaaack! did ya miss me? DSD1 is back home. poor thing hadto have a camera inserted through her urethra and due to mix up had it done under local rather than general so was not a happy bunny..... they think her bladder muscles are going into spasm and not letting her pee so they are going to retrain her bladder. in the meantime she's been given some catheters just in case she gets bad again. i would rather give birth again than have catheters and cameras down there so kudos to her

wolfie thanks for letting me rant twas veeeeery necessary. we doing date nights again and although it's early days it's nice to get dressed up and spend time alone. we're going to london in august so hopefully it will be just what we need. it's his first app this week so fingers crossed. i really should have put my foot down earlier but at least things aren't so far gone.

Wolfgirl · 15/07/2008 09:13

Morning ladies. Duo - sorry again, I went swimming after work, then got home to find that DH had gone out with kids, and cooked no tea, so had to do that! Then still had to potter and tidy up from my Table top sale from the weekend, AND try and get a few things advertised on our local Netmums. THEN kids arrived, then tea, then bedtime, then put some washing away, then clear tea stuff.... then it was like 8:30 - 9:45 and I was just way too tired.

I have some things to say about your email, but need your permission to speak boldly? And offer some down to earth advice! and again LOL

OK, sorry to all that I didnt get the spreadsehet out, I have filled it all in, just a time thing. I stayed the same this weke, which is great.

Ive started swimming on a Monday night too, only 20 lengths, but with my CFS - its enough. I get out the pool totally empty and weak, but am glad I can persevere and keep going. the next thing I would like to do is go for a jog. Jog and walk round the park.

Hope you all had a wild week! hugs to you all.

PS< should we start a new thread with a diff title, try recruit some newbies?

Hi all . Well i weigh 10 st today. Can't remember what i was last week, so i've either put a pound on or stayed the same!!
Sounds like you've had a tough week Duo . I hope your little one feels more comfortable soon.

duomonstermum · 15/07/2008 10:51

wolfie fire away. none of my RL friends hold back so i won't be offended well despite advice to the contrary DSD1 has decide to go back to work..... she was "bored" hopefully she'll be ok. her boss has told her she can only go on the till(she works in a chippy) so that she won't be on her feet. if i knew she was going to be so delligent i'd have paid her to do the housework a long time ago!

i really must head back to the pool. can't do the jogging lark cos of my lovely athritic knees....i know......i'm falling into disrepair...... been helping a friend with a major clear out so i'll count that as exercise

peachygirl · 15/07/2008 16:28

Hi all
Duo,I hope everything will be OK. Would your LO like a surprise sent in the post for being brave... some stickers or something? I'm happy to so something like that if she would.
I was 8.11 1/4 today. I'm faffing around that 11lb point. I haven't been too strict this week. I need a good slap to get me on track again... any takers??
We have a holiday booked in 5 weeks and I really would like to wear those trousers!

Before you hvae a new thread (which I thnk is a good idea) wolfgirl should you do a roll call like at the beginning to see who is still with us?

duomonstermum · 15/07/2008 17:42

peachy [kick up the bum emoticon] nah thanks but she's grand. she's wangled a magazine subscription out of her dad i think she seen him coming.....

haven't been on the scales yet... mainly cos they are broken and have yet to be replaced. think i'll take a deep breath and go to boots def not be doing it tomorrow. it's date nite tonite and i'm being taken out for a meal. i will try to resist death by choclate [self-hypnosis]lol! reeeeaaally looking foward to it cos we haven't done this in ooohhh years.... we'd gotten a tad lazy methinks

duomonstermum · 15/07/2008 17:44

btw wolfie and i are not plotting to take over the world. mn maybe.... just having some ishoos with atmD H. just in case anyone thought we were plotting mwahhahahah

MamaChris · 15/07/2008 19:22

Oh well. no change this week (again) for me either. s'pose that's good given how bad I've been

must also get swimming again. the only form of exercise I really love. And 20 lengths is pretty good I think wolfie. Particularly if it's been a while since you swam

duomonstermum · 16/07/2008 11:14

ok so i didn't resist the death by choccie. i ordered it....he ate it!! it was great to have a meal with no hangers on and just chat. did boots but no change which was good seeing as i have been easy on myself

Wolfgirl · 16/07/2008 14:48

No change for me either this week.

I will send the spreadsheet out tonight ladies, sorry its late

MamaChris · 17/07/2008 11:05

ARGGH!

I need tips, please, pretty please?

Whenever I'm tired, I've always reached for coffee or chocolate (or both!)

Now I'm exhausted (at least, that's how I feel - ds is a terrible sleeper, up 5 times a night on a good night and awake properly by 5am), and I haven't been able to face coffee since I was pregnant, so it's chocolate all the way. Not good!

What do you all use as a less fattening pick me up?

cadelaide · 17/07/2008 12:07

MamaChris, right now I'm having oatcakes spread thinly with chocolate spread. Not fantastic, but it does give me enough of a chocolate hit and I don't feel hungry for aaaages afterwards. I think tiredness has a lot to do with my post-baby weight gain, and I suspect it's the same for many. You just reach for anything to keep you going, don't you?

Oh, a 1lb loss for me, btw, which makes it 1/2 stone so far. Now I finally feel like maybe I'm getting somewhere.

cadelaide · 17/07/2008 12:08

Or what about those hot chocolate drink thingies in sachets? I think they're ghastly, but they may do it for you?

MamaChris · 17/07/2008 12:43

woohoo for cadelaide! well done for losing

chocolate drink thingys = yuk, but perhaps some strong chocolate spread might do it. If I could restrain myself to spreading it on oatcakes and not eating it with a spoon! will have a browse at the shops this week. or can you recommend any that's particularly strong?

kingprawntikka · 17/07/2008 14:46

Half a stone cadelaide, thats fantastic . well done you !!
