Anyone want to join me in a very easy peasy diet?

Wolfgirl · 18/03/2008 08:57

Im on hols in June so that is my incentive. Beginning of December I went of a cut down diet. All I did, was after my main meal at night, I ate.... NOTHING. No picking... chocolate, biscuits, popcorn (dont we love our popcorn on MN? , crisps....nothing. Oh and no pudding!

I lost nearly 1/2 stone just by not picking.

I ate what I liked during the day, biscuit, chocolate... what ever I liked, but just stopped at night.

I have to say, I did go to bed a little bit hungry, but felt so gooooooood the next day, especially as by the end of the first week my stomach had gone down considerably, and by the second week my clothes felt looser.

Who wants to join me? anyone?

I seem to be stuck. I've been at the same weight throughout. I'm fitting into a couple of things a bit better although wonder whether this is more a better attitude than a better fit. Anyway I'm not gaining weight and know that I will start to lose it eventually. Right now I'm doing almost no exercise other than the usual daily rushing about. I'm walking the stairs at work which includes 7 flights (only have to do that twice a week) Am going to try to swim while the kids have their lessons

Tonight I'm awash with sauvignon blanc and some rather lovely choc shortcakes. That's OK too. I'm working too hard to beat myself up about any of this. As long as I'm staying sane and not getting wobblier, that's OK. For now. Once work is sorted out, which may actaully happen at last, I'm going to spend a bit more time sorting me out. For now I'll carry on trying and admiring those of you who are doing better than I am

duomonstermum · 17/06/2008 21:59

hey nappy! we'll all get there eventually. i'm just bandying about the pounds anyway but i feel better about myself so when the scales lie to me i just think, sod that and ignore them. esp if my clothes feel like they are fitting better. i'm doing loads of cross stitching for my brother at the moment because he commissioned a few bits. although i can't snack cos my hands are busy, i also can't wander about as much cos i'm on a tight deadline....

kingprawntikka · 18/06/2008 08:59

Morning all , sorry Jaamy forgot to do my stats yesterday. 10 st 1 this week so i have put a pound on.
Welcome home Wolfgirl . Glad you had a good holiday. You never know all that running around with the kids might have counter-acted all the holiday indulgences!!

dinny · 18/06/2008 09:36

does one evening's excess (like i had last night!) mean you won't lose any weight that week? pls help me not throw in the towel! thanks

peachygirl · 18/06/2008 12:31

dinny we are allowed one night off a week so don't worry too much

dinny · 18/06/2008 12:44

Cadders - hope you havnen't faded away with hunger. Hang in there. HAve some lovely fruit or even just a glass of water can hold off those hunger pangs! Or you could just go to bed!

Wolfgirl - still here. Don't jet off til tomorrow. Will try to forward SS to you then so you can distribute on Mon/Tues and do your fab motivational pep talk! THe last coule of emails I sent you have bounced back so I can't guarantee it, but will try...

Unless anyone else would like to pick up the reins for a couple of weeks to give Wolfgirl a chance to catch up after hols?

BTW -Well done, Wolfy on only gaining a pound after hols. Must have been all that running around after DCs!

Wolfgirl · 21/06/2008 19:18

JustJaamy · 21/06/2008 21:54

Aha, Wolfy. Think I have successfully sent you an email to your home account. Will send SS shortly and to your work email too, just in case. Sorry for all this faffing!

JustJaamy · 21/06/2008 22:08

Cruisemum - did you get my email last week? Don't seem to have had anything back from you. Just don't want to have missed your email.

peachygirl · 22/06/2008 21:13

Hi everyone,

I'm just popping in to boast about all the exercise I've been doing.
On Friday I took 7 music lessons. 6 of these classes opted for a 'samba parade' an activity where we dance around and shake maracas. I play the music for about 3 minutes for each class ... thats 18 minutes, 4 of these are music and movement groups ... no swaying like flowers and trees for me.. lots of dancing and jumping.
In one of these groups we all had a chat about losing weight and someone told me they thought I was looking slimmer. I was very pleased

Today we as a family took part in a sponsored walk for NACC 4 miles up and down the Thames. I did indulge in a whipppy ice cream though.

Tomorrow we have INSET so I'm walking to work (DH is having DD) I'm also going to push a trolley we borrowed to help move our old dishwasher. I'll look like a wally but I'm thinking of all the extra muscles I'll be using.

We are having a new kitchen fitted so send me you good thoughts!

duomonstermum · 22/06/2008 21:27

i'm exhausted on your behalf peachy. it has done nothing but rain here and DD has come down with a temperature so no sleep for the last 4 days..... i'm getting quite used to having conversations with the large green elephant that follows me around. it might be DH or DS..... have now lost my mobile which i can only remember having in the kitchen up to a certain point then my mind goes blank and i think the batt has died so there's no point in ringing it. then again i could have left it at DS school during the school fair... oh well!

must now go and hunt out DSs uniform. at least i think i washed it......

peachygirl · 22/06/2008 21:54

oooh poor you duomonstermum... It will get better

Wolfgirl · 23/06/2008 15:40

Weigh in day tomorrow ladies, and Im back on the case.

Well done and many thanks Jaamy for doing such a great job in absence. Oh and if anyone else fancies taking a turn.... you are more than welcome LOL

I have a new incentive, seeings that the old one has passed and I failed miserably to achieve anything of notice

So, Im aiming for another stone to lose in time for a very very very posh wedding in September. Bring it on!!!!!!!!!!!!

OP posts:
peachygirl · 23/06/2008 20:54

Good luck for tomorrow everyone. Welcome back wolfgirl , don't think I've spoken to you since you came back, glad you had a good holiday.
I did walk today but didn't take the trolley.

Wolfgirl · 23/06/2008 21:16

Hey there peachy! yep, all the best for tomorrow. Im not suggesting any food elimination this week.... purely because Ive still not gotten my head around dieting again and its gonna be tough getting back on the wagon. Ive tried to be good unofficially - but nothing to be proud of.

Still....another day, another morrow! Lets keep going!

Glad to be back though and chinning with you guys

OP posts:
Sugarmagnolia · 24/06/2008 07:31

well I'm still not getting any emails so I'll post again here - no change from last week. I'm sorry but any way you look at it 2lbs in 4 weeks is pretty rubbish. I even went for two long walks this week for all the good it did.

Wolfgirl · 24/06/2008 08:46

Please dont despair or give up. Yes, I now believe that this diet is NOT so easy, purely because it is so slow. BUT!!!!! you can see from the spreadsheet that it does work, even though it is slow. And thats good news.

I do advocate exercising, and for my part I am going to make a concerted effort to start swimming every week, even if its only once a week. Its hard to do any 'real' exercise when the the LO's are around, other than a trip to the park, but they dont walk very far, so thats not an option.

Lets just keep going. I have a new incentive and a new goal to lose a stone by September, but even its just 1/2 a stone, its going the right way. Maybe thats a little ambitious, and I should say a stone by Christmas. Id be happy with that too!

Oh by the way ladies, my email is playing up and the mail I tried to send out last night was still sitting in my outbox this morning. DH took a look at it, and the server was moaning about too many syntax errors, so we will try again tonight. But do leave your stats here if you can.

have a great day!

Hi Wolfgirl and all, i have had a good week this time . I weigh 9 st 12.5 today . I was 10st 1 last week. !!! I have been doing 4 or 5 hours exercise a week ,and calorie counting, and not eating on an evening. You can tell desperation for the summer is setting in now. Or maybe i'll call it determination!
Hope you all had a good week .

Wolfgirl · 24/06/2008 11:01

Hi there KPT! nice to chat wya! well done, way to go Mrs!

Im pretty proud of myself, as Im spot on 14stone, which is 1lb down from my sneaky peak after I returned from holiday. I was 14 before I went and have managed to maintain whilst away and since being back.

SO! onwards and upwards for the next 1/2 stone loss.

duomonstermum · 24/06/2008 11:49

nothing to report here. extreme sleep depravation is playing havoc with my eating habits at the moment..... i'm not getting to bed till nearly 3-4 and then not getting up till near 11 (if she's sleeping, so am i. man ribs is dealing with DS) at least her fever seems to have broken this morning and she is very cheerfully wiping her slice of toast with jam all over my trackies......

gscrym · 24/06/2008 12:46

Right, the computer is working again (sort-of). The scales are still missing in action so I went to Tesco this morning to weigh myself and do my body-fat.

AAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRRRRGGGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHH

I'm 65.2kgs (heavier than last weigh-in I think, have lost the spreadsheet) and my body-fat is 14.7. The ticket says it should be 20-27. What do I do? Do I eat more fat? How do I shift the 6kgs I'd like to if my body fat is low?

Answers on a postcard.
