For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page

White beetroot? Yum.

I went to my 'health' food store and they only sell normal supermarket honey, no hemp seeds and they had never heard of kiki superfood.

I am feeling irritable and short tempered. I need to think of something to do with DS this afternoon that will keep us both busy and calm until bedtime. My house is a mess and I've spent all week cleaning it. I hate days like this.

easternalstudent · 21/03/2008 18:37

sober and blushing now.

Have had 2 manadrins, 1 banana, fistful of nuts n seed stuff. Spanish meatballs with plum toms for dinner. And many beers. Think I'm alright for exercise

DH is wandering around the house muttering 'death by snoo snoo'. Only relevant to Futurama fans....

easternalstudent · 21/03/2008 18:38

My BF's dad used to grow beetroot on his allotment, weird long tubular things. Gorgeous roasted in olive oil with a couple of bashed cloves of garlic and wrapped in tin foil....

ahundredtimes · 21/03/2008 18:40

Oh yes Franny, that's exactly what he said 'Do you have sex then? Where?' and that's when I froze.

I need to find him a puberty book I think, I'll look one out. My friend gave one to her daughter recently and she said 'DON'T give me books like that EVER' and then she felt all bad about it. The timing is hard isn't it?

So dh was all 'oh god sex is so much fun' which I was a bit about. I wanted to keep shouting in 'but only when you're MARRIED' but I managed to stop myself. But I suppose it was good because he was so cheerful about it, and ds had lots of questions to do with his own body and dh was all 'oh god yes, that happens all the time when you're growing' and all relaxed whereas I'd have looked a bit pinched and said 'none of this matters, because you are going to be a Catholic priest in darkest Africa and you will NEVER sin.'

ahundredtimes · 21/03/2008 18:41

The hair sounds good though Fra.

IdrisTheDragon · 21/03/2008 18:42

I an just about cope with a 4 year old asking questions. Hopefully when he is 10 I will also manage.

IdrisTheDragon · 21/03/2008 18:43

I think it may be bedtime. DH and DD seem to be upstairs. I haven't quite got the motivation needed to remove me from the armchair and the laptop, and DS from the sofa.

FrannyandZooey · 21/03/2008 18:45

I agree let Mr 100 do it. He sounds marvellous - would he come here and do it to ds when he is a teenager also?

student, stop pretending to blush and tell us some details so we can snigger. Did you stand in a doorway and rub your hands at each other first? Or what

UR I can send you kiki superfood if you can't find it. It is horrible price but worth it IMO. I will look for possible online place for you also. Sorry you feel cross. Is weather any good? Going out for long stomp might help you both?

yes it is ok 100. I just like red in it too but the boy refused. I thought "why is it going to go pink when it has never gone pink before?" but I couldn't be bothered to argue.

TooT I bought pot of bulbs partly in flower, thankyou for inspiration. He will be v pleased and it was only £2. I also went to Whittards and virtually everything is half price so recommend anyone goes there for last minute Easter presents.

That's a good idea Franny. Mr 100 can prepare for a world tour .

BBBee · 21/03/2008 18:49

I liked "'oh it's all enormous fun" I like it when Mr100 does that kind of thing.

I also like the childhood outrage - boco your dd is much older than you in lots of ways.

I managed to do some kind of thing where I walked into the sitting room with a glass of wine and kind of dropped it and tried to catch it and flipped the bottom and it went all over the room and the dcs. It was spectaular.

BBBee · 21/03/2008 18:50

franny is there a paperchase near you - they have these beautiful plastic rabbits that are pink or white and glittery adn kitch.

easternalstudent · 21/03/2008 18:51

It was everything I've ever dreamed of and more.

There he was, leering in the gloaming (the doorway indeed providing support) newly defuzzed nether regions windmilling furiously.

Then, once he'd jack-russelled me over the lukewarm washing up water he uttered the magical words 'do ya want me to flick yer prawn'

UnderRated · 21/03/2008 18:53

A pot of bulbs is a good idea. I should have bought some yesterday.

I think we might make cookies but I'll probably be all shouty. I want to go out but its snowing and is all wet and slushy and yucky. More tea needed, I think.

Am looking forward to Mr ahundred's world tour. I needed him yesterday when DS couldn't sleep because he was 'playing with big penis, not little one, it's big now' My baby

I'll google kiki superstuff, Franny. Good idea. What I need is some sort of miracle supplement that will make the world ok.

lol @ the hand rubbing. That'll always make me snigger.

FrannyandZooey · 21/03/2008 18:54

oh no, there isn't one Bee
I used to haunt the local one when a teenager, it always seemed impossibly chic and glamorous

student you and I spent TOO LONG on that thread

I have a new one now though, since MP's thread, I just ask dp if he fancies a quick haiku

I can't find where to buy in the US, UR, because google only wants to show me UK sites despite me unchecking the UK box
also when you google kiki superfood it comes up with one of my posts which scared me a bit

OP posts:
FrannyandZooey · 21/03/2008 18:56

how about PLAYDOUGH UR, that always chills me out
the lovely warm feeling of it and the nice smell

TigerFeet · 21/03/2008 18:57

am v tempted by kiki superfood. Does it have chromium in it? Have just read an article (admittedly in Wikipedia ) which says that chromiom helps curb carb cravings in atypical depressives (of which I am one).

We have had a lovely afternoon. We went to the farm and there were lambs and dd fed one of the orphans with a bottle . It was wet, windy and farking freezing though.

[wanders off to google kiki superfood]

UnderRated · 21/03/2008 19:03

How odd, googling something and finding a link to what you wrote. I'll look at kiki tonight and see if I can find an equivalent over here. I'm sure there must be one.

Playdough in the fridge, so will use that after we do the cookies. We have new cookie cutters so will bake some for my mum - she arrives tomorrow

UnderRated · 21/03/2008 19:17

Chromium? I neeeeeed that.

TigerFeet · 21/03/2008 19:20

chromium picolinate - I have just ordered some

I'll report back as to its effectiveness

BBBee · 21/03/2008 19:20

i take chronium - it is one of patrick holford's recommendation.

I HEART Patrick Holford - I do his 6 weeks to super health every so often and it makes me glow.

Hi UR!

UnderRated · 21/03/2008 19:22

Hello bee!

What's this six week thingy? Will it make me feel like a new person with blowing skin and shiny hair?

I'm listening to the Archers and its making me all broody

IdrisTheDragon · 21/03/2008 19:24

That's a good idea Franny. Mr 100 can prepare for a world tour .

IdrisTheDragon · 21/03/2008 19:25

Not sure how that happened
