For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page

Oh God MrsC! There are a hefty number of extra potent good vibes heading your way. Have you phoned C? Will you? You must.

littlerach · 17/03/2008 12:37

Sorry to hear that MrsC.
I hope you can get soretd asap.

Overrun · 17/03/2008 12:44

sorry to hear your news Mrs Carrot, hope you manage to get seen sooner, that sounds like a disgraceful amount of time to have to wait.

Have now had big bunch of grapes

FrannyandZooey · 17/03/2008 12:58

no, completely understand about cards MrsC
please talk to us lots, I wish we COULD do something, but being here for you to talk to is at least something

your GP sounds good

FrannyandZooey · 17/03/2008 13:01

LOL at Overrun's sheepish fruit and veg tally
yes we must still all eat f+v it is VITAL
MrsC may at any minute call the veggers to leap into action (wish we could MrsC ) and we must be in the very prime of health

I am having mange tout, baby sweetcorn, beetroot, pepper, celery, and hummus

ahundredtimes · 17/03/2008 13:02

Oh now that is just plain SCARY isn't it MrsC? You must feel very frightened and shaken by it. I would.

I hope the GP can move it forward, keep talking to her.

I'm going to make you a cup of your favourite tea and hold your hand and we can stare out the window for a bit, and then I'm going to ring the GP again.

TooTicky · 17/03/2008 13:07

100x, I have emailed you. At least, it might be you. Well, it was very shoer as I wasn't sure. So, if it is you, and it does arrive, then you could reply and let me know that it was you.
Either that or I have just confused a total stranger.

TooTicky · 17/03/2008 13:07

That should be SHORT not shoer

Boco · 17/03/2008 13:09

100x is a very shoer as she is providing a used shoe service.

TooTicky · 17/03/2008 13:12

Yes, obviously a Freudian sort of slip. Ds2 said his school shoes were hurting this morning and I said, NO THEY'RE NOT, you haven't had them long enough!

FrannyandZooey · 17/03/2008 13:14

I just trumped (sorry to mention this but it is important part of the anecdote) and said 'pardon me'
ds looked pained and said "don't worry mummy, I think it was your chair squeaking"

the soul of tact

TooTicky · 17/03/2008 13:16

Oh, that reminds me of the anecdoter about the queen. Or was it the queen mother? And the horses. Do you already know it? I tell anecdotes (and jokes) very badly indeed due to poor memory.

FrannyandZooey · 17/03/2008 13:20

no I don't
have a stab at it
(sorry for lowering the tone btw)

OP posts:
TooTicky · 17/03/2008 13:24

Okay, the queen (or whoever) was in a carriage with some foreign dignitary and the horses kept farting. After it had happened several times, the queen apologised, and the dignitary said something along the lines of, "If you hadn't mentioned it, I'd have thought it was the horses."

See? I do tell them badly.

ahundredtimes · 17/03/2008 13:25

TooT - I have black school shoes sized 12 - you want? I am a shoe provider, I am also short so it works all ways.

ahundredtimes · 17/03/2008 13:26

MrsC - please come back and save us from TooT's awful jokes. The kettle has boiled, we need to do hand-holding and staring and talking about it being frightening.

FrannyandZooey · 17/03/2008 13:27

sorry I think it was nerves on my part
sorry
let's hold hands again

OP posts:
Boco · 17/03/2008 13:29

Do you mean your farting was nerves, or talking about farting?

ahundredtimes · 17/03/2008 13:30

I'm not holding your hand.

We should talk about it MrsC. And not be too sympathetic and huggy, we will take walks around the garden and say we are frightened and there may be a brief lunging hug from me by the rose tree, but that can be ignored.

TooTicky · 17/03/2008 13:31

It wasn't a joke, it was an Anecdote

Ooh, yes please to the shoes if they really are spare. Let me know if the email arrives, won't you?

I have to rush about now. Kettle has just boiled, must drink something quickly, wash mysterious grey stuff off dd2's chin, bundle her into sling, hurtle up the hill, to PO then to help at school, THEN home, THEN out to parents' evening, all wqhilst providing endless food to dcs with bottomless pits for stomachs.

Boco · 17/03/2008 13:32

Well I'm not holding your hand either, I'm holding MrsC's hand.

Poor MrsC, having us try to cheer her up.

FrannyandZooey · 17/03/2008 13:35

yes god I wonder why MrsC stayed off here for a few days and turned to RL instead

OP posts:
ZippiBabes · 17/03/2008 13:35

Mrs c so sorry...I am not very good at support and sympathy, but hope you quickly get treatment and and everything

ahundredtimes · 17/03/2008 13:35

TooT - you email has arrived. Tis me. Now send me your address and I'll pack shoes off to you.
