For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page

Can I ask the people who met me a question, and be brutally honest with me!!

What do you think I looked like? I feel scruffy. And a bit overweight (although I've lost about 10lb). And young (but like not a real grown up rather than "ooh, I don't have wrinkles!")

I want to look like someone from the Boden catalogue, but I have the wrong figure. But I think my self-image is more like a caricature of myself.

Thoughts please.

FrannyandZooey · 09/03/2008 20:32

I did not think you looked scruffy at all. You looked very groomed and clean with shiny hair which was in a proper style and everything
and you look young but in a good way, a nice skin sort of way.

I don't think you should try to look like someone from the Boden catalogue. You look a bit sharper than that and you have got proper tits and stuff

Hello Veggers

Have had friends staying for the weekend, which has been lovely. Girls have been a bit mad with all the attention and excitement and none of us have much sleep so feeling a little bit dazed and the house is trashed, but happy from lots of laughing.

Pink you look proper pretty, all dewy skin and perky and china doll features. Much nicer than a bony boden model with an interesting jaw and no bottom.

UnderRated · 09/03/2008 20:37

Oh PSW - you sound so sad. I am feeling rather scruffy these days. I want to look glamorous or at least presentable but I never seem to manage it.

Your food sounds delicious.

UnderRated · 09/03/2008 20:39

BOCO! Everyone has been looking for you

PSW sounds lovely. Shiny hair, perky, china doll features, youthful skin...

Boco · 09/03/2008 20:42

She is, and not at all scruffy in any way, very groomed in fact. I am definitely on the scruffy side. I think I always will be because I have thick hair that is delinquent and won't do anything I tell it to.

FrannyandZooey · 09/03/2008 20:43

ah we are all glowing with the inner shine of fruit and vegitude

That'd be a good title Franny!

Glad you had a good time with guests.

UnderRated · 09/03/2008 20:44

I blame my hair too but mine is very fine and curly. I just look a mess, not matter what I do with it. And, I've noticed recently, I seem to have quite mannish features

FrannyandZooey · 09/03/2008 20:45

Boco you aren't scruffy either
you have a very nice coat for starters, I have one coat which is frayed all over and one coat that is a big man's coat I stole from dp

I have one smart coat that I wore to posho hotel and felt very pleased with myself until man in top hat took it and I realised the lining was all torn

Hello lovely shiny people!

I've had a bad couple of days fruit-wise, but up on exercising.

Think I need to get some really moreish stuff in like strawberries, blueberries and grapes.

I keep looking at apples and thinking, yawn.

pinkspottywellies · 09/03/2008 20:47

now I feel like I was fishing for compliments. Thanks lovely ladies. I kind of got my wardrobe sorted out last summer and felt ok and wore nice skirts and had shoes that matched and things but winter isn't so easy. I look all chunky and I always just want to be warm. I want to look like my sil who is quite happy to be cold at the expense of looking fabulous!

The chocolate cake might not happen by the way. I only have about a tsp of cocoa! No eggs. Not doing very well really!

FrannyandZooey · 09/03/2008 20:47

yes local fruit in season at this time of year is a bit grim

allegedly there is a local apple man here who delivers apples from his range of 64 varieties
I am on his tail

FrannyandZooey · 09/03/2008 20:48

ah sometimes a bit of fishing is necessary

have you nice boots? I always think nice boots are necessary to survive winter

Apples can be a bit yawn can't they Slur. All that chewing, I get bored frankly. You need energy for an apple, it should count as exercise really.

pinkspottywellies · 09/03/2008 20:50

You are not scruffy Boco. You look lovely. I love thick curly hair. Mine just flops.

S1ur · 09/03/2008 20:51

Boco did you go to that party/networking thing yet?

I do like apples but I am in danger of becoming one.

UnderRated · 09/03/2008 20:53

My apples this week are cunting not very nice, I'm afraid. All watery and disappointing.

I remember the days of looking lovely and not caring that I was cold. I'm old now and prefer to be warm even at the cost of looking scruffy.

Boco · 09/03/2008 20:56

Not for another month Slur - April 15th, just giving myself plenty of time to stew over outfit. Going to try on pretty cocktail dresses and cop out lbd next week!

FrayedKnot · 09/03/2008 20:57

Hello

We went for our walk and it was sunny when we left and sunny when we got back but rained for the actual walk bit

Pink no way are your scruffy! I agree about china doll features and smart hair

I don;t rate the Boden look, much. It's too contrived.

What are your favorite items of clothing? Things that make you feel great about yourslef, or that people have admired on you? I think that's usually a good starting point for thinking about what suits you etc.

pinkspottywellies · 09/03/2008 20:58

I wasn't fishing Franny! I thought you might say ... well if you just bought some things from Boden you might look a bit smarter!

I have boots but I get them wrong. I have flat brown ones which make me feel short and I'd love to wear them with thik tights and a skirt but it just doesn't seem to work. I have high heeled piratey ones but I'm not used to wearing heels any more so I don't wear them every day (but I am trying to practice). I have grey ankle boots but my new ones aren't as comfy as the ones I had in London but I wore them out (holes in toes, heels gone!).

I got really into pumps last summer. Need to work on boots. I hate spending loads on boots though. I spent £65 on a pair a couple of years ago and they ripped the first time I wore them and the shop and the company just said 'oh you did it' and I didn't. They were faulty but they wouldn't replace them (Rocket Dog by the way)

And I always forget things like jewelery, or I wear the worng coat, or don't straighten my hair, of wear the wrong colour blusher with my lipstick and oh

S1ur · 09/03/2008 21:00

Ah right, well, enjoy the dressing up a couple of those lbds looked amazing and with accessories....

You'll look fab, hope you have fun.

ahundredtimes · 09/03/2008 21:35

Oh goodness I am pleased you are having this discussion. PSW you looked lovely in that photo you know, all shining and sexy and good.

I have to have my photo taken on Wednesday. Oh the vanity of it! Oh the horror of it! You have no idea. I have practised pulling faces in the mirror. The whole undertaking is absurd.
