For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page

It's like a ghost yurt tonight.

UnderRated · 08/03/2008 22:12

Yes, where is everybody?

Been quite productive this afternoon:
Will done, just need to get it siged by witnesses
Cupboards & Wardrobe organised (and I found my belt which I lots ages ago)
Plus various other things I should have done weeks ago.

I always end up 'swimming' like you Tooticky.

ladywombling · 08/03/2008 22:19

Hello fruity friends,

Where is everyone? Evening TooT and Underated. Have had blueberries, pear juice, stirfry of sugar snaps, spinach and chinese leaf, baby corn, mushroom and onion. about to have raspberries ice cream

Have walked for about 3 hours, pushing buggy and dd, shopping for shoes for her.

TooTicky · 08/03/2008 22:37

Hello Wombling

Franny is entertaining, Avi is probably on her way to Franny's, MrsC is on her way to Edinburgh, Zippi and FMV are taking a break from MN....

UnderRated · 08/03/2008 22:52

I feel like I should have something better to do now

3 hours of shoe shopping doesn't sound like fun.

pinkspottywellies · 09/03/2008 00:24

My title idea is...... Leek-ing words of wisdom, let it bean! (deranged and desperate )

When I go swimming with dd I just pad about in the shallow end but our local pool is open til 10 so I just upped and went on Wednesday night after dd was in bed. I'm going again this Wed with a friend and we're going to eat afterwards! Like 'going out'. Like in the olden days before dd!

I've been out at my friend's house tonight playing Singstar on the playstation. Going to bed in a minute.

Night all!

UnderRated · 09/03/2008 02:18

I love it, PSW

I am going insane. Loud music from upstairs ALL bloody day. And night. I have toyed with going upstairs to ask politely/ yell/ punch the offender am but too chicken. Am on the verge of tears instead.

FrannyandZooey · 09/03/2008 07:42

Oh UR, oh no! loud neighbours are just the pits, I am so sorry. Do you have anyone that will intervene if it carries on? (council will deal with it in the UK)
I must admit I wondered if there was a connection between PSW's songstar evening and your post.... hmmm

where is Tatties?

I am breakfasting lightly on fruit and cake. We are having brunch later when people arrive. It involves fruit but we'd better gloss over the rest. I wasn't entertaining last night - I was in bed . La Famille Greeny have worn us all out (in a good way).

OP posts:
UnderRated · 09/03/2008 07:48

You're up early, Franny. Glad you had fun with Greeny & co. What a busy weekend you are having.

I'll talk to the managing people if loud music continued. The problem is, I forget about it until it starts up again and it is usually out of office hours. Must toughen up a bit!

Have fun with the Avis.

FrannyandZooey · 09/03/2008 07:53

it's ten to 8 here, I am usually up at this time but usually faffing around in the shower etc

do you know the upstairs people at all? if on friendly terms I would have a quiet word first

It has been really nice having Greeny here and I haven't felt invaded at all (often get a bit dodgy about people visiting as am funny about it). They are staying in a s/c guest house 2 mins away which seems to be working really well for all concerned. I highly recommend her as visitor if anyone was considering her

am primping for Mr Avi. Have tipped Greeny off that he is dish so we are going to flutter around and simper at him. Avi will love this.

OP posts:
UnderRated · 09/03/2008 07:56

lol @ recommending Greeny!

Am sure Avi will love all the simpering and fluttering at her DH

FrannyandZooey · 09/03/2008 07:58

yes I thought so too
it would be just what I would want if I had travelled several hundred miles to see someone

UnderRated · 09/03/2008 08:13

I'm sure Avi'll be so impressed with all the fruit and veg and scintillating conversation that she won't notice.

FrannyandZooey · 09/03/2008 10:03

urk
what veg?

Hello

I've been "swimming" with DS today

Am going for a walk in a minute, in exploratory mode, I want to go somewhere new.

Have fun with your guests Franny

UR loud music drives me mad...DH lived in a flat when he was working here & DS & I still lived in Norwich. When we came down to stay one weekend, his neighbour started playing music at 2am when he got in from clubbing and left it on until 6am. This was when DS was about 14 months old and still waking at night and up for the day at 6 anyway. God it was awful. It happened several nights running and DH complained and apparently it was against the terms of the lease so the management company gave him a warning. Do you have anything similar?

Yes, where is Tatties? And Boco?

UnderRated · 09/03/2008 17:19

That's what I'll do, FK. The management guy is quite nice (since I saw him naked on the roof ) so I'll have a quiet word.

Have a good walk, FK. How are the guests, Franny?

Yes, I was up til 4am again

FrannyandZooey · 09/03/2008 18:47

guests all gone

ds wavering between "ooh I am glad it is just us again mummy" and "waaah i wish they would all come back tomorrow"

we took Avi and family to a science show and MrAvi had to stand for about 10 minutes wearing a comedy crash helmet with a drill on the top while an odd man tried to balance a basketball on the top of it
he finally managed it, then 7 children had to prance round him holding representations of the solar system

it was fab

OP posts:
UnderRated · 09/03/2008 19:01

Bet it seems really quite now, Franny. Mr Avi sounds fab. Am sure Avi is too.

Red cabbage, carrots, raisins, banana, sunflower seeds (but nothing else, so all good so far)

FrannyandZooey · 09/03/2008 19:43

yes Avi is lovely
Mr Avi very lovely
Small Avi very lovely also
all Greeny family lovely
how lovely everyone is.

and how lovely and QUIET it is now

TooTicky · 09/03/2008 19:50

Have eaten apple, sultanas , more apple, veg stew, apple cake.

Ds2 now appears to have ds1 and dp's cough

UnderRated · 09/03/2008 20:03

Oooo, cake

Haven't seen Boco. BBBeee was on another thread earlier. No idea where everyone else is.

Hope your DS2 gets better soon, Tooticky

pinkspottywellies · 09/03/2008 20:18

I want to make chocolate cake. I'm thinking a nice gooey sticky loaf cake. I've got no eggs. TooT can I make your chocolate cake recipe that I had before in a loaf? And have you got it handy? (I think it's in your head, isn't it?)

pinkspottywellies · 09/03/2008 20:24

I made carrot, parsnip and lentil soup today for the week, and bean and veg chilli for dinner which was lovely. I also made sausage casserole for the freezer and for dinner tomorrow. What a productive day!

We went swimming this afternoon. It was the first time dh has been with dd which was nice!
