For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page

FrannyandZooey · 13/02/2008 08:23

ooh no it will be wonderful for your circulation and you will be all fresh and glowy and goosebumpy

ZippiBabes · 13/02/2008 08:27

i will be blue

i picked up my swimming cossie yesterday and it had gone transparent so had to dash to jjb and buy naother in a nano second so that i could get to the gym before 4 when the off peak membership finishes

i wrote my friend this last night and he said wear the transparent one in the sea...

TigerFeet · 13/02/2008 11:13

Bloody hell, a dip in the sea in Feb How, erm, bracing. I predict your face will go like this - the blue one being cold not sad.

All you runners are making me feel guilty, I am such a bad 10/10er when it comes to the "/10" bit. I seem to have had a permanent cough since November which rears its ugly head whenever I move at faster than a snail's pace.

Porridge with blueberries so far
Forgotten to bring fruit to work
But have veg & beef casserole for lunch
And salad for tea.

Have never really got on with poetry [science graduate] but I like those two above. I think it has to touch something one can relate to for one to understand it properly.

Pemborkeshire doesn;t have many shops, Zippi, iirc - one of the nice things about it. Though with an internet connection you can shop anywhere, though, can;t you

FrayedKnot · 13/02/2008 19:16

Two "thoughs" in one sentence?

Shall I start again?

We had a kind of conglomeration of spinach, leeks, carrots, savoy cabbage and leftover roasted parsnips, stir fried with pine nuts

and a little bit of bacon

And parmesan on the top. With rice. Twas nice.

DS had baked beans

OverRated · 13/02/2008 19:26

You're so busy all the time zippi. It makes me feel worn out just reading about it. But then I should make more of an effort to be busier rather than sitting at home dwelling and wasting time on the internet.

Interesting dinner, FK. I am not hungry today. Blueberries for lunch. DS had pesto tortellini for the 3rd day in a row.
