For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page

Paps!!! I have just hugged you on the skinny thread

FrannyandZooey · 18/02/2008 19:27

Hello Paps! lovely to see you

UR, god knows - just one of those days I think
I got a bit het up about ds's social life over the weekend
it is silly, I am sure 4 year olds never had ANY friends when I was a girl

UnderRated · 18/02/2008 19:36

Ach, he'l be fine, Franny. He goes to nursery doesn't he? And he mixes with people other the you & your DP. I think that's all that matters. It's not nice to feel worried and upset about things though.

FrannyandZooey · 18/02/2008 19:43

his nursery place finishes in July
all the children there are younger than him as they have all gone to school (he is 5 in April)
he comes to one of my groups but all the children there are younger than him ditto ditto

FrannyandZooey · 18/02/2008 19:44

but thank you
he is wildly sociable
I just feel he misjudges it very badly sometimes
oh fuckit, he is alright

FrannyandZooey · 18/02/2008 19:45

he managed to infiltrate his way into a football game with a load of teenagers this afternoon

i think people must breathe a sigh of relief when 'that annoying kid has gone'

FrayedKnot · 18/02/2008 19:47

Evening

Had big bowl of fruit, an apple, pittas with grated carrot, rocket & watercress & cucumber for supper, with felafel

Am tired..DH was late tonight also

Have also been to the park and walked round the neighbourhood in the sunshine

I am so sleepy..perhpas it was the pitta bread

UR I thik your name is much better

UnderRated · 18/02/2008 20:01

I didn't mean to sound dismissive, Franny. I know it's hard when we want our DC to have opportunities that we can't necessarily provide. My DS is 3 in September so all his friends are a bit older than him and will be in preschool so I think we'll be in the same situation as you.

We are almost out of F&V but I am finding it hard to be motivated to go out and buy more.

He's SO lovely Franny, and sociable and funny and all 3 girls loved him last week didn't they - DD1 was quite jealous when I told her that he was going to marry MrsCs dd. She loved playing pirates with him.

Rash still here but on nightly chats with the Wizard - which just involve her saying 'carry on taking rhus tox and call tomorrow' Feels funny, calling up and saying 'yes, rash on hips and chest and one armpit today, yes, ok, bye'

Have eaten mango and blueberries for pudding.

TooTicky · 18/02/2008 20:12

I am eating veg and lentil stew after having been out bashing ice on the canal.

FrannyandZooey · 18/02/2008 21:06

I just had a very odd experience
doula came round to see if we got on and if we want to hire her etc
asked about ds's birth obviously, which was not fab but god knows I have whinged on about it to enough people beforehand
as I was talking to her about it I just got completely freaked out and started shaking and teeth chattering
which come to think of it I did for a large part of ds's labour
I am still shivering now and dp is sitting in a t-shirt
am going to have hot bath and try to get grip, what a strange thing to happen
I think I like her. Probably quite a lot

ZippiBabes · 18/02/2008 21:11

i have a terrible liking for oh mother and i dont think i have an rp accent ds came round and we took all his stuff and dumpoed it at dd2s so she rolled her eyes lol

Tatties · 18/02/2008 21:20

Franny it sounds like talking about it has made some very anxious and frightened feelings resurface. Hope the bath helps you feel more relaxed

ahundredtimes · 18/02/2008 21:21

Oh Franny yes, very strange. Is a powerful business this birth isn't it? I quite like that it happened, that there's this sort of physical muscle memory about giving birth, whether it was a 'good' or 'bad' birth. Am pleased you like the Doula.

AND I bet ds is a superstar, and agree that as children we really didn't have packed social lives. Don't worry - the fact that he is socially confident and up for the cup is proof enough that everything is going well, but if you're thinking about it, then perhaps look out a club or activity group thing he might enjoy once a week - like soccer tots or woodcraft or whatever? Perhaps you already do this, I don't know, sorry.

I like the messages to the Wizard. Does she pick up or do you just leave the update on the anserphone.

DD and DS2 and I have just watched HSM. DS2 made me ROFL - at the end when the whole school is singing and dancing in the basketball court, he turned to me and said 'What do you think the visiting teams from the other school think about this? I think they're all running for their school buses.' Ha ha.

ZippiBabes · 18/02/2008 21:40

oh franny that sounds shamanic

i'd like a baby..i wish i had gone ahead with that overseas donot business now

even if i was on my own

ZippiBabes · 18/02/2008 21:41

donor not donut durr

FrannyandZooey · 18/02/2008 21:48

oh zippi I am sorry, really sorry about that

god I have been terribly needy and attention seeking this week

you're lovely people to be with type words onto a screen at

FrannyandZooey · 18/02/2008 21:50

yes do you think that was a good sign that I felt like that while talking to her? I kind of interpreted it as her bringing stuff to the surface and letting stuff flow out and so on

I have talked about it plenty before and never had anything like that, it was very powerful. She didn't do anything particular, she wasn't probing or anything, she just sat there and then she held my hand when I started shaking

FrannyandZooey · 18/02/2008 21:51

Boco I have read your post about ds 6 times now thank you

TigerFeet · 18/02/2008 21:51

I'd love a baby too [self obsessed]. I would do the whole pg/birth/first year so very differently than with dd

I am almost jealous of your horrid flashback

Now who's needy and attention seeking

(lots of f&v today but not interesting enough to describe. apples featured. and carrots)

FrannyandZooey · 18/02/2008 21:55

no I think anything to do with birth and babies is going to evoke strong feelings isn't it
sorry I do splurge on about it

avi what kind of difficulty are you having? Pain? Very bad pain? Have you got anything for it?

ahundredtimes · 18/02/2008 22:07

Yes, definitely. I think it's great - I mean I know it's shocking - but that's almost what the tooth chattering is all about isn't it? It's powerful and important and so yes, I think good.

I had something similar the other day. And I'm not even pregnant. It was a smell, and it made my knees buckle and my c section scar sort of hurt. Very strange.
