For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page

Was better than I anticipated (and also quicker). Mouth is numb but will wear off in a little while.

Will contemplate some food in a while.

ahundredtimes · 14/02/2008 14:16

Oooh how exciting. Boco and MrsC have taken Franny to Diss.

I am ILL. I am never ill. It is all quite shocking. I have taken to my bed and am eating oranges.

DH is in shock. He is ignoring me. Johnny Jet keeps scampering up the stairs and STARING at me. I have tried to explain that I am ill, but he isn't interested.

OverRated · 14/02/2008 14:36

How did Wombling know that the mango had to be eaten on Thursday? She must have a special cunting mango detection system.

Hope all the people having lunch have fun. I expect a full report later.

ahundred - are you ok? Sounds awful

And poor Idris at the dentist.

ZippiBabes · 14/02/2008 16:13

suympathy for the dentist and illnes in bed

i have just got back from the gym and swim..i think i have got back in training

having to take my kit off is a remarkabl;e incentive for getting back with the programme

i had oats and granola and a kiwi and some cottage cheese otherwise food is a bit thin in the ground and i don't fancy going to get any

will have to see if i can make something as i am hungry now

Boco · 14/02/2008 17:04

Had a very nice time in Diss with Franny and MrsC. The children were very funny and got on really well, and the food was nice and it was fun! There was a fire, but it didn't matter.

100x what kind of ill are you, like flu? Hope you're better soon.

lullabyloo · 14/02/2008 17:09

Happy Valentines everyone
I awoke to a trail of rose petals leading round the house to an enormous spring bouquet..& cards everywhere, even in the fridge.
Seeing as dh wanted to split up on Saturday as he was sick of me..I am slightly, well very at this behaviour

oh well

Ds & I went to Carluccio's for lunch
it was lovely
then we bought a heap of red heart helium balloons & almost got blown home.

lullabyloo · 14/02/2008 17:11

that sounds wonderful Boco
I am most jealous

fire?

TooTicky · 14/02/2008 17:21

Lully, I hope everything is okay.

Glad the lunch people had fun.

100x, hope you are okay.

Ds2 received the sweetest hand drawn valentines card today from a little girl in his class.

FrayedKnot · 14/02/2008 19:01

Lully, that sounds hugely romantic but can see why you felt if things haven;t been going smoothly lately

100 hope you feel better soon

Idris glad the dentist wasn;t as bad as you feared

Wombling hullo!

FrannyandZooey · 14/02/2008 19:14

Diss is LOVELY [disbelief]

Ds1 and MrsC's dd have decided to get married when they are grown up I asked ds if she had asked him but he said "we just decided. It's so we can have pets like cats and things. I wish I was grown up NOW."

Day was very funny, my favourite bit was Boco saying "No dd, that one has been up your nose, give him a different one." I think I was still flying from the chocolateandorangepuddingwithchocolateicecream but it made me do snorting.

The girls are all so beautiful and MrsC's little one is a charmer.

FrannyandZooey · 14/02/2008 19:24

I don't know why I put ds1. I have only got 1 ds anyway.

Sorry for : Idris's dentist
100's poorliness
FK's out of sortness
Lully's confusing / confused dh

hope everyone has had a nice day otherwise. I think we walked about 6 miles and my shins are complaining. When I got back ds's train was messed up so instead of being early he was late. Ds and I were in bed in our pyjamas when he got in.

He hasn't given me my present yet and I am not going to remind him (for everyone except MrsC and Boco, he has asked me to get an egg because he "needs it for my present". However he says it is not anything to do with our dinner Frankly I am a little scared)

FrayedKnot · 14/02/2008 19:27

Ponders what could one do with an egg apart from eat it..

oh I know! A face pack?

MrsCarrot · 14/02/2008 19:41

It was a good day, in fact, it was the nicest day out I've had in ages. DD proclaimed it to be the best day of her life at lunch. Then she thought a bit and said second best day because the first was disneyland. I said shhhhh, disney is not very 10/10 but she ignored that.

The nose incident was very funny. The children were hysterical all day. DD was distinctly unimpressed with Franny's DS version of the extinction of the dinosaurs and insisted on saying 'stinks' every time she frowned and said 'extinct'. This didn't turn out to be a huge problem though as they are indeed getting married and they are all best friends. DD says the best part was everyone giving her sweets when she had dropped hers and being pirates in the park.

I take back having said previously that diss was a dive. There was a really lovely part to it with some great shops. I bought a large red leather ring. It is nicer than it sounds.

DH is cooking for me shortly and a baby is grizzling on my leg. Have a nice evening everyone whatever you are doing, ovum or no ovum.

Oh and sorry to ill and fed-up people. Cider vinegar and chocolate all round.

Boco · 14/02/2008 19:43

I put the girls to bed and asked them what their favourite bits of the day were. DD1 said it was when they all climbed to the top of the slide and took their shoes off and flung them and then took off their coats and rolled in the mud.

DD2 said 'I can't choose, it's not my job!'

I liked it when MrsC asked the lady in the wholefood shop if crying chocolate made her cry.

MrsCarrot · 14/02/2008 19:45

yes, I forgot about that. Did she give me a weird look or was that my imagination?

Lol at mud rolling. There seemed to be a lot of shoe removal for February.

FrannyandZooey · 14/02/2008 19:53

Oh ds said his favourite part was "dinner on the train" it was a cheese and pickle sandwich and he was eating it when I asked him. I'll ask him again tomorrow.

MrsC's dd was so beautifully tactful about ds's crap dinosaur theories. After she wrinkled her nose at his meteorite suggestion he said they were maybe eaten by tigers. She waggled her hand a bit and said kindly "we-ell, but there weren't really tigers around then" when you could see she was thinking "who IS this imbecile who keeps saying "stinks" for "extinct"???"

MrsCarrot · 14/02/2008 19:54

DD is worried that a car will get a flat tyre from where she dropped her sweets.

zippitrippitoes · 14/02/2008 19:54

it sounds lovely

FrannyandZooey · 14/02/2008 19:56

oh oh oh I have had my egg-related present and it was entirely marvellous

it is one of those heart shaped egg fryers OF COURSE and he served me a heart shaped fried egg as a starter while the rest of the dinner was cooking

FrannyandZooey · 14/02/2008 19:57

were the sweets quite pointy then? they were some kind of health sweets and rather worthy

I dropped the ones your dd gave me into a plant pot

OverRated · 14/02/2008 19:58

Lully, are you ok? Sounds like a lovely day if it weren't for what happened at the weekend.

Glad the lunch people had fun.

I just made Aubergine Parmigiana for dinner.

zippitrippitoes · 14/02/2008 20:00

how magical

i have a kind of valentine present

an email which is a photo of a woman sticking out a very long tongue

zippitrippitoes · 14/02/2008 20:00

i just didn't want to feel left out there

OverRated · 14/02/2008 20:04

A heart-shaped egg frier? Could you make pancakes in it too?

FrannyandZooey · 14/02/2008 20:06

I think you probably could do pancakes yes

Zippi well I think we should feel left out now. I've never had an email with a photo of a woman with a very long tongue, and I feel this is unjust as I do personally have a very long tongue
