For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page

What if we move London up a bit, out of the way, then we could pull on ropes and move a little closer.

FrannyandZooey · 17/02/2008 22:06

yes please that would be fine

can i just confirm, the best version of the stir fry was

turn around stir fries
every now and then I feel a part
of a mango

?

it is quite long and possibly not amazingly funny to anyone except me

FrayedKnot · 17/02/2008 22:07

TooT have you got any fingerless gloves?

And wear shoes - have you got any clogs? They are good for cold floors.

We have tiled floor in kitchen and no radiator so it is icy first thing

I try to avoid doing the first visit if possible, once the doors have been open a while it warms up

TooTicky · 17/02/2008 22:08

I have to go to bed. Sorry, can't help with the title.
Night night

FrannyandZooey · 17/02/2008 22:08

yes I must go
the night birds can sort it out

FrayedKnot · 17/02/2008 22:08

I think something maybe lost in the lack of "of a mango" being on the third line

But hey!

TooTicky · 17/02/2008 22:09

It's my fingertips that go numb though.
And I did have clogs - I bought them in Sweden - but somebody has left them out in the rain

FrannyandZooey · 17/02/2008 22:10

well the title will all be on one line I guess

is that what you mean?
sorry am tired

sparklyfairypie · 18/02/2008 07:33

boo hello guys, posted once on old thread then lost you lol

My reasons for doing this is to try and boost my immune system - i seem to have no end of horrid chest infections, sore throats etc. I suspect I am anaemic as I was before but iron tabs make me constipated sorry TMI lol and i dont want to be on them long term so am having a major rethink of my diet.

Only slept 2 hours last night so doubt il get much exercise done today lol. Just making my porridge for brekkie, and having a glass of OJ with it

Hope your all ok

ZippiBabes · 18/02/2008 07:36

hi sprkly

have you tried spatone for iron it is much better no side efects

i believe the exercise helps too with immune things

sparklyfairypie · 18/02/2008 07:58

thanks for the tip. have you tried it? (just googled it and see its sachets) cos if its vile then im ashamed to say its unlikely ill take it

ZippiBabes · 18/02/2008 08:00

yes i take it not all the time i add it to mango and orange juice

if you had it on its own you would taste it but it is fairly well disguised in the juice

and no side effects

ZippiBabes · 18/02/2008 08:01

and you can sometimes get three for two in boots tho if you just want to try it then you wont want that much

FrannyandZooey · 18/02/2008 09:03

morning chaps

welcome back sparkly - the best supplement I have tried for immune system is elder extract, and Kiki superfood which I recommend for everything (it is absolutely
revolting tasting but does amazing things)

I am still not sure what I was meant to do with the title - am confused about the lines thing - will await further instructions (good excuse to do nothing )

FrannyandZooey · 18/02/2008 09:04

am eating apple, banana, grapes, raisins

am still in paranoid slightly miserable mode

bah

TigerFeet · 18/02/2008 09:40

morning veggers

have been at the inlaws this weekend and [gasp] they dont have a tinternet [twitch]

have skimmed thread...

I used to have lots of extraneous holes in my head. One in nose, three in each ear (but not symmetrical) and one in the top of my ear. I tried to reopen the one in the top of my ear recently but it went all manky and hurty so I abandoned.

Do you all have RP accents (apart from Franny)? I don't!

MrsC you sound like a fab mum

Sparkly you could be me - it is working though, I am still getting chest infections but not as severe and not as long lasting.

Wassup Franny?

Tatties · 18/02/2008 10:21

Morning

Are you alright Franny?

I think ds and I will have hoummous and dippy things for lunch today, it is calling me already

filthymindedvixen · 18/02/2008 10:28

I am frustrated at the beautiful sunshine whih mskes me want to be at allotment. But ground is frozen solid. Pah. So I am supposed to be tidying up a little. Although it is so shockingly messy and dirty (not sure how, given we were away for most of half term) that it will take me hours.

Boco · 18/02/2008 11:19

I think 'Turn around, stir fries. Every now and then I feel a part of a mango' is perfect.

It's totally frozen and freezing and white and crispy here and i am COLD. I have a list of unpleasant or daunting things to do today, so i'm putting them off and staring at this thread hoping there'll be people to distract me.

TigerFeet · 18/02/2008 12:18

Sorry Boco completely let you down on the distraction front there!

Madly busy at work atm so no time to be posting on mn at all really. Am scoffing apples and mandarins just now though so am having a quick lurk.

It is very cold here, car reckoned on -6°C this morning [brrr]. It's very beautiful though with the thick frost everywhere. I want to borrow someone's dog (100x is JJ for hire?) and take it for a long walk and take photos of things looking frosty and pretty. Instead I am stuck in this office worrying about dull stuff.

filthymindedvixen · 18/02/2008 12:28

yy to stir fries - though i hate it when we have a song title - i am very susceptible to suggestions and i will be singing it for weeks...

MrsCarrot · 18/02/2008 12:31

I was singing it all last week as well, ds1 has said can you stop singing that now, please.

filthymindedvixen · 18/02/2008 12:32

I've only just stopped singing the supercauliveggietastic
