For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page

I MUST go and put them to bed.

Don't go and see that Bucket film. It looks dire. [bossy and tyrannical]

MrsCarrot · 17/02/2008 20:53

Next week? My word, that has come round quicklY.

Fennel is carminative to the bowels and expectorant for the lungs, 100x, so they say, as well as being a sedative.

FrannyandZooey · 17/02/2008 20:53

London

I can't link to the Odeon without it doing that

I watched the Savages trailer, I am not sure
I think I want something funny
just funny
possibly stupid and funny
I am easily pleased

FrannyandZooey · 17/02/2008 20:54

"carminative"? what in the name of....?

FrannyandZooey · 17/02/2008 20:55

ooh that Jack Black film is directed by the Eternal Sunshine man

FrannyandZooey · 17/02/2008 20:57

yes the Bucket one looks bad doesn't it
I think the Owen Wilson one is the only one with any pretensions of being even vaguely intelligent
however as I would only be watching it to lech at OW and as previously mentioned he spends it looking like an escapee from a burns unit, it may be ill advised

FrannyandZooey · 17/02/2008 20:57

right I'll just sit here and do post after post

sorry

Tatties · 17/02/2008 21:05

I still can't catch up! HELLO!

FrannyandZooey · 17/02/2008 21:07

hello Tatties
sorry lots of it is me wittering

MrsCarrot · 17/02/2008 21:10

carminative

Boco · 17/02/2008 21:34

Oh I loved little miss sunshine, i don't care if it was a fake, wasn't at all moved by production values or indieness or quirkiness, it made me cry laughing with the very basic slapstick humour, like the horn getting stuck and the dance and the farce. And because we were watching it in the village hall with the entire WI, who weren't impressed, which made it so much funnier. Was with friends and sister and we were all mascarary and hysterical.

Spoke to Wiz. Was very brief. She changed rememdies. Didn't see your request 100 so dunno.

TooTicky · 17/02/2008 21:38

I can't catch up either Tatties. They all talk lots when we're not here.

Why oh why is it so cold? My fingertips and toes go numb in the mornings and I hate it and I can't warm them up because the kitchen floor is penetratingly cold and people keep wanting more breakfast. Am also slightly worried we will run out of heating oil before proper spring.

I have been eating more fruit than usual. We have the most divine Dutch apples. They taste English.

How is everybody?

MrsCarrot · 17/02/2008 21:49

How does an apple taste English, Toot?

Boco - I didn't dislike it for any intellient reason, I just didn't find it that funny, but I think I was in a strange mood at the time. DH was rolling on the floor. I imagine a room full of stiff-lipped jammers would have intensified the joke.

TooTicky · 17/02/2008 21:52

Ooh hello MrsC, I was just emailing you.
English as in that wonderful fresh, crisp, sweet and tangy autumnal heaven that is apple.

TooTicky · 17/02/2008 21:53

Oh, and so juicy.

TooTicky · 17/02/2008 21:54

Not just English I suppose but I associate it with the apples in the garden, picked warm from the sun

FrannyandZooey · 17/02/2008 21:58

oh dear, it's bedtime and I haven't asked for titles

I have a feeling we did a few funny ones lately that haven't been used yet?

feel free to nominate your favourite or make up new ones

MrsCarrot · 17/02/2008 21:59

our apples are still rotting on the floor under the tree, we ate a few but they weren't that sweet. The birds eat them. They make the most amazing patterns in the apples with their beaks.

FrannyandZooey · 17/02/2008 22:00

I am feeling slightly low, ds and I haven't really got anything nice to do this week and last week we had loads of fun and sociable activities on

I realised this earlier and rang about 6 people and asked them if they would like to come over but got very poor response am feeling paranoid and anxious about ds's social life and my social skills

FrayedKnot · 17/02/2008 22:00

It's Boco Bonnie next week

I will renounce my membership if we can;t have Turn Around Stir Fries

FrannyandZooey · 17/02/2008 22:00

oh yes LET'S FK, shall we?

FrayedKnot · 17/02/2008 22:01

There, you see, bossy streak shining forth

TooTicky · 17/02/2008 22:01

at apples rotting under the tree!
Do you not make pies? Stew them? We had hardly any last year and it was galling to watch other people's apples rot.

FrannyandZooey · 17/02/2008 22:01

yes but bossy and oh so right

TooTicky · 17/02/2008 22:02

Franny, come and meet us somewhere. We have half term this week.
