I referred to hospital Today by my Gp. I’ve had a UTI that’s been stubborn and been feeling awful.

went to hospital today and they said it’s cleared.

anyway tonight my bladder feels like it’s in spasms. I’m in agony. I’ve got burning sensations down my arms and legs and I can’t make a fist with my hands when the burning is at it worst.

my stomach is in agony.

what is wrong with me? My bloods were all normal today and I had a bladder scan which looked ok.

im exhausted and terrified

I think you should go to A&E. Right away.

ShyMaryEllen · 12/07/2022 01:32

I agree with the PP. If you can't make it, at least ring 111.

Tellmewhyaintnothinbutaheartbreak · 12/07/2022 01:35

It’s like there’s something in my stomach pushing on my bladder. The burning feeling is awful

i think I’ll need to go.

i just don’t know what is wrong with me

Stop wasting time, op. Just go, right now, and advocate for yourself. You need immediate attention.

LunaAndHerMoonDragons · 12/07/2022 01:38

A&E or at least call 111. You don't need to know what's wrong, just that you something is and that it needs to be checked out.

PeekabooAtTheZoo · 12/07/2022 01:42

Hopefully they can rule out the things they previously tested for and move faster to an accurate diagnosis. I live in Ireland where it costs €100 to go to A and E and this is the sort of thing I’d go for. Definitely sounds like something to get checked asap. Maybe take some snacks and drinks for the wait and a book. Good luck.

PeekabooAtTheZoo · 12/07/2022 01:45

Just to be really clear, I meant only grab stuff that’s to hand, don’t start cooking or packing a big bag, you need seeing.

Bluesparkled · 12/07/2022 01:50

A&E immediately.

Tellmewhyaintnothinbutaheartbreak · 12/07/2022 01:58

Will head up just now

any idea what’s wrong with me?

I think that's a classic sign of UTI, the weight on the stomach. You need to see a doctor as you don't want the infection to go "higher" and reach the kidneys. I'm not sure about A&E or GP so I'd call 111 too.

Tellmewhyaintnothinbutaheartbreak · 12/07/2022 02:01

@Oceanus

ive been treated for a uti and my urine is showing clear as are my bloods. I am so scared

OP posts:
skimper · 12/07/2022 02:05

If you can wee get a sample. Because of it gets to kidneys is so hard and painful. But that's the first thing they need to check.

Tellmewhyaintnothinbutaheartbreak · 12/07/2022 02:06

I can get a pee sample but it’s already been checked and is negative

OP posts:
Oceanus · 12/07/2022 02:10

I've been treated for a UTI and got tested but because I'd been on antibiotics it showed nothing but then I was sick again in no time. I thing bacteria are just getting more resilient to meds.
I'm going to be bitchy and ask how old you are or if you're taking meds for something else because my mum's been getting them a lot and the doctor explained it's down to age and/or having low immune system. Every time she has a UTI they need to send her urine to a lab to be cultivated and see what antibiotics can kill them little bastards.
If you were in hospital today, I don't think they would have had enough time to cultivate your urine so maybe the meds you took made your bacteria a little weaker and now they're back kicking and screaming.
Call 111 or go back to A&E. You can't let this infection go "higher" or you can have serious problems in the future.

Oceanus · 12/07/2022 02:11

Have you got somebody to drive to A&E or are you alone?

Crumpleton · 12/07/2022 02:14

Is it possible you have an embedded UTI?

Oceanus · 12/07/2022 02:15

Tellmewhyaintnothinbutaheartbreak · 12/07/2022 02:06

I can get a pee sample but it’s already been checked and is negative

They need to send it to a lab to be cultivated in a petri dish or, if need be, take a little bit of pee straight from the bladder.

uncomfortablydumb53 · 12/07/2022 02:16

Are you passing urine properly? Im just wondering if you're in retention hence the pain
I think ring 111 to see if a clinician can call you back

Oceanus · 12/07/2022 02:17

OP, you better be on the phone to 111 or getting somebody to drive you to the hospital!!!

Tellmewhyaintnothinbutaheartbreak · 12/07/2022 02:18

@Crumpleton whats that?

OP, you better be typing with one hand and holding the phone with your free hand! 😶

skimper · 12/07/2022 02:22

Needs checking again. They could be wrong, or could have changed massively since then. You know something is wrong, get it all checked again.

Tellmewhyaintnothinbutaheartbreak · 12/07/2022 02:23

@Oceanus

justbgetting ready to go.

it’s the burning in my arms and legs

OP posts:
Oceanus · 12/07/2022 02:26

I vote for A&E! If you're in "agony" and your GP referred you to hospital today I'd get going if I were you, provided you have sb to get you there or you can get there yourself safely.
