Cream coloured parsnips and crisp apple strudel, Beetroot and bok choi and swiss chard with noodles - 10/10 thread,

For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page

oh there is bags of post-modernism on this thread wouldn't you say?

no it was on another thread but I felt too sycophantic saying it on there

don't know why

Boco · 15/01/2008 20:53

I don't think i explained myself very well with the post modernism.

FrannyandZooey · 15/01/2008 20:53

I thought you did

Boco · 15/01/2008 20:54

Thanks

ZippiBabes · 15/01/2008 20:55

i missed the post modernist but not the clothes fallin off avis dh

FrannyandZooey · 15/01/2008 20:56

now she will never come back if you say crude things like that zippi

Flibbertyjibbet · 15/01/2008 20:58

Can I just ask, does someone have a FULL TIME JOB thinking up the fabulous titles to these threads?
I am always impressed and todays is just well supercalifragilisticexpialidocious!

FrannyandZooey · 15/01/2008 21:00

yes our title writer has to sit in The Pit until she thinks of a good enough one, then we let her out and pay her in artichokes

pinkspottywellies · 15/01/2008 21:00

I liked the 'yellow aubergine' title.

Franny so excited about your baby moving, then nearly scrolled past the scan photo, then whizzed back and looked and got a little lump in my throat

Went to work tonight but client wasn't there again. He's gonna be in TROUBLE!

Went swimming today and got to actually swim cos friend's dh came too so we swapped the babies round and got a few lengths in!! And I've just been out for my half hour run and got further than last time [proud] I've lost about 6lb

Today's F&V intake was poor: orange juice, pinapple (poss 2 portions!) lettuce and cucumber & tomato in wrap (I turned up on my friend's doorstep nearly in tears cos I was supposed to be at another friend's for lunch and when I arrived (she was 20 mins late) she said 'oh I meant to tell you not to come for lunch' and proceeded not to offer us any so by the time we left dd was in a state and breath-held again so I went to my other friend's house and fell through the door saying feed dd please! Friend is notoriously unreliable but I keep giving her the benefit of the doubt. No more. Ooh sorry about the rant!) Lentil moussake, sweet potato and broccoli for dinner. Oh about 7, not too bad.

Well done on your run MrsC. I talked about running with 34G's on the running thread - I wear a sports bra and an tight aerobics top to strap 'em down!

Boco · 15/01/2008 21:01

ha ha , i remember the pit, it was nice in there, there were tomatoes weren't there?

FrannyandZooey · 15/01/2008 21:01

I am posting loads of rubbish tonight, sorry

this was ds's heirarchy of things which he told me earlier

mangoes
raspberries
Mummy
strawberries
blackcurrants.

Am very relieved I am superior to ruddy blackcurrants, but disappointed I couldn't quite win out over raspberries.

pinkspottywellies · 15/01/2008 21:02

I love cauliflower steaming!

ahundredtimes · 15/01/2008 21:06

No there only mars bars in the pit - because I was in there.

I am going there again. But we are having a curry tonight, which is very nice and I am going to get it in a minute.

I have been a disaster today. I don't know what's the matter with me - I got all the timings wrong and did everything back to front. I left ds1 at school, I left dd at school, I got ds2 then came back leaving ds1 one there - and dh lost his keys and shouted.

Now I'm being rude to a strict lady on another thread.

FrannyandZooey · 15/01/2008 21:08

I LOLed at the other thread I must say

ahundredtimes · 15/01/2008 21:11

Oooh you're better than me, I couldn't lol, I was all frowny and tetchy.

Right am off for curry. Night all.

Oh and Franny - very, very good pic. Thanks for showing.

OverRated · 15/01/2008 21:11

3rd favourite isn't bad, is it Franny? And I doubt even you could compete with Mangoes. Shame about the raspberries though.

ZippiBabes · 15/01/2008 21:13

sorry it kind of leapt out at me

i am contemplating watching la confidential

FrannyandZooey · 15/01/2008 21:14

oh no I was LOLing at your response 100. I thought it was very to the point

OverRated I have a feeling this was just the greatest hits. I will probably find out there are several other things above me, such as jam and coleslaw etc

FrannyandZooey · 15/01/2008 21:17

Right I promise this is the last time I will repeat amusing things ds has said today (he has been good value for money I must say)

the Jehovahs called and ds asked "what did they want?"
Me: They like to talk about what they believe in
Ds: What DO they believe in?
Me: Oh all sorts of things.
Ds: Tell me ONE.
Me: Well they believe in God.
Ds: [incredulous] they believe in GOD? [pause] Do they believe the Earth is hollow??

FrayedKnot · 15/01/2008 21:19

Oh which thread, please?

FrannyandZooey · 15/01/2008 21:21

my friends think I am too strict but old people kiss my arse

onebatmother · 15/01/2008 21:28
