For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page

Anorak - sorry to hear that. Hope you make a speedy recovery and feel better soon. I keep meaning to but Franny's wonder kiki stuff too, it sounds amazing.

Another meet, so soon? Oh, go on then. Where, where, I don't know. Shame we can't ust rent a huge house or something and then go out for food/walks and come back and flop by a roaring fire, that someone else has stoked of course. I don't ask for much.

MrsCarrot · 03/01/2008 12:40

buy

FrannyandZooey · 03/01/2008 12:52

ahem (I am not here of course)

Actually I am buggered if I am staying there in the cold, I bet the heating is crap

but we NEED to book it for a 10 / 10 fandango extravaganza one day

Oooh, that looks great, does look a bit chilly though, mind you, nasty soggy spring will be upon us soon.

FrannyandZooey · 03/01/2008 13:05

I can't face driving to Wales before this baby arrives, myself. Car does my back in. Shall we save up for next year?

But I definitely want to do London in the next month or two. TooT that is fab if you could organise it but you know I will have to nearly chew my own arm off not to interfere and harrass you to get a move on

Great idea, FMV.

Righto, Franny, book us in. We'll be no trouble at all.

Hello anorak and OverR and avi.

Hope you are healing well anorak.

lionheart · 03/01/2008 13:54

here?

Has the advantage of eating in (although I don't know about the food) or bringing your own.

Boco · 03/01/2008 14:07

Hello
Happy New Year Veggers. I hope everyone is feeling better - MrsC your mastitis sounds terrible! Sometimes antibiotics are your friend, usually before septicemia sets in!

I feel much better after very drawn out flu - and am coming round to the whole wizard homeopath thing.

Going to Tenerife in two days! Thinking about packing, looking forward to fishing out summer things again!

wombling · 03/01/2008 14:20

Hello everyone, Happy New Year, I heart you all.

Have not been posting much, seem to have lost the plot somewhat with the thread, I just can't keep up at the moment. I think it is too much RL getting in the way.

Anorak, you poor thing, I hope your recovery is speedy and am sure that lots of F&V will be just the job.

Franny,

Noooo, please don't go!! We will all miss you sooo much! Maybe yo can just post on this thread? I know how you feel about DS being away, when DP takes DD camping, I really miss her, although unlike your DS, she is quite happy to have daddy all to herself!

Mrs C - You have been in the wars haven't you, hope things are improving for you, are you still managing to feed DS, it must be so so hard for you.

FMF, you must still come on 10/10, at the very least, I am with you on Januaryitis, I feel so sad when the xmas decs come down, and don't cheer up properly until spring.

Tatties, Hello!

TooT, would be lovely if you could organise another meet up, I might get a chance to really talk to everyone this time!

Zippi/Franny, I'm happy with either bed, sounds cosy.

Where are Boco/100x and all our lovely other veggers?

FMV,

TooTicky · 03/01/2008 15:26

As you wish Franny. I can arrange and you harrass, or you can do it. Or we could share it to lessen the responsibility.
I am sifting ideas in my head anyway.

And massive helloes to everybody

Oh, and if anybody sees our snow, could they please send it this way? The BBC promised us some

SantaBabyBeenAnAwfulGoodGirl · 03/01/2008 15:30

i have been and swimmed and gymmed so now going to get proper food

i was afraid i was descending into locking myself in my room in bed all day but managed to get myself out..well with a little help from the plumber

so feel a lot better for that

thio not at all sure about my ankle as it still seems to be knackered

so have had no coffee for a t least a couple of days

just need to see if i can sort out sleeping..the exercise might help

if i'm allowed i will meet up again

anorak · 03/01/2008 16:13

It's raining and cold here today so I decided to go into full convalescent mode and not even get dressed.

All I have done is a bit of laundry and some cooking, the rest of the time sofa laptop and TV.

Am making huge pot of soup containing pumpkin, lentils, split peas, onion, garlic, cabbage, carrots, green pepper, broccoli and fresh parsley.

Have snacked on mixed dried fruit and nuts and a glass of orange/peach/mango juice. (It's only 12 noon ish here)

filthymindedvixen · 03/01/2008 16:17

Wombling, FMF and FMV are one and the same. That is to say, me!!

Grouchyoscar · 03/01/2008 18:11

I thought Wombling was looking for discarded tesco receipts that haven't received clubcard points and then taking them to customer services to have the points put on your card

Anyhoo

Does 2 15 min sessions playing out in the snow with DS count as my 10 mins exercise for the day? Please...I was bally freezing

BBBee · 03/01/2008 18:44

oh here you are and here I am.

quick skim - fucking hell mrs C that is awful!

Hurrah boco! You will have a woderful wonderful time! HOw wonderful!

I went to holland and I went ice skating it was cool-tastic.

BBBee · 03/01/2008 18:45

zippi - you given up coffee?

Boco · 03/01/2008 18:49

Hello Bee! Was Holland good? Were inlaws good? Was skating good? When do you go back to your course?

OverRated · 03/01/2008 18:54

you've all been so busy

I am feeling lazy. Have had some juice. Only 9 other F&V to fit in now

Am I right in thinking that everyone wants to get into bed with Franny & Zippi?

littlerach · 03/01/2008 19:05

I haven't been busy.
at the ice skating. It is years since I have skated.

No snow here poor dds, they were getting really excited all day, but nada.

Anorak, I hope you get plenty of support where you are. A friend of mine was diagnosed just over a yera ago, and had a masectomy last new year. After 6 lots of chemo she then had another masectomy, through choice, and is very well now. The chemo was obviously horrid, but she was actually quite well thorughout. And she had soem amazing wigs!

F&V?? Um, coiurgette and pepper frittata with brcollio and carrots and green beans. - that's not too bad!!

BBBee · 03/01/2008 19:06

hey boco

holland was good - much better than i anticipated - in laws were good - not sharing a common langugae has it's downfalls but overall I won out I think!

Skating was good and it snowed and we had a bizarre dutch/russian/whatever new year with traditions and custom tres strange!

Back home now which is nice - house freezing freezing cold and no food in house - just had strange supper of pasta and tomato purree.

Did anyone do resolutions?
