For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page

Boco · 03/01/2008 21:48

I'm good thanks Wombling, feeling all recovered and excited. It's going to be a very different sort of holiday with friend instead of dp. She will be bringing many beautiful dresses and much expensive product, and will lie down a lot and drink wine and flick idly through magazines. Well that's what she thinks because she doesn't know what it's like going on holiday with two small children - hahahahahaha!

boco - this friend doesn;t have children? I hadn't read carefully enoguh to glean that. Is she nice a liad back or will she get headaches and need to lie down?

are you taking beautiful dresses? and what books are you taking?

BBBee · 03/01/2008 23:11

avi - your island is lovely but you have friend;s who wee in bins? what did the letter say????

Boco · 03/01/2008 23:15

No, she's not laid back at all. But she's very good fun. She'll be delighted and entranced and find the children hilarious, then she'll be exhausted and frustrated and lie in a dark room. Whenever she comes to stay she sleeps in very late and as we're all sharing a room with 2 beds for the 4 of us i think this will be hard for her. She has spent lots of time with them though and loves them - it'll be good.

I'm reading 'the gathering' by anne enright, not got that far through it yet. Also Lee Miller's biography.

ahundredtimes · 03/01/2008 23:19

I'm reading The Gathering too.

I've come in here to hide. I got in the middle of a fight I didn't understand.

[under broad-rimmed hat, large sunglasses]

Hmmm? Who ees thiis 100x to who you talk to?

I wasn't having a fight. I couldn't really work out what was going on tbh.

Boco · 03/01/2008 23:25

are you enjoying the gathering 100?
I've become obsessed with the reborn babies - in particular the ones made by a particular person who isn't very good at it. Making me lololol.

Where's your fight 100?

ahundredtimes · 03/01/2008 23:27

Oh not MY fight just weird, tense thread. God knows what it was all about. I distributed petals, ineffectively and unwantedly.

I am enjoying The Gathering VERY MUCH indeed. God, she writes well.

BBBee · 03/01/2008 23:30

100 I remember the natasha kaplinskyplonsky fight you got into - I liked that.

Those babies - what the fuck is that about? Did you watch the programme?

Shall I watch it on online on demand?

I have not read this book of which you speak. I am badly read. I am reading DS alice in wonderland - man that is weird!

Oh god I didn't BBee. It's not okay really, I felt ashamed afterwards.

The book creepy? The Gathering do you mean?

Boco · 03/01/2008 23:35

The programme was very odd, one of the women in particular was really quite unhinged. The whole thing - the buying these lifelike newborns and wheeling them round in expensive prams and spending hundreds on designer clothes for them and living in a fantasy bubble - was really bizarre. They sell for so much money! Then there's this person who has obviously tried their hand at making them and needs some practice oh dear this doll is so odd

The book isn't creepy though. No.

ahundredtimes · 03/01/2008 23:41

Measure up money/ enjoyment vs. time with ds/ less money /boredom?

BBBee · 03/01/2008 23:46

I got sucked into the thread about scuttlebuggers and got lost.

Alice in womderland is creeepy but I don;t think you were talking to me avi.
