For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page

I don't think I've ever had a greengage? Are they like goosberries? I love rhubarb too.

lol @ anorak slapping her DH in her sleep

and pmsl @ 100x Dad & the double decker bus.

MrsCarrot · 07/01/2008 22:13

eh? Did I miss the bus?

MrsCarrot · 07/01/2008 22:15

They are not like gooseberries, no, not nearly as tart, more like a sweet plum really. I like them too. In fact, I like nearly all food.

Some very expensive chocolates that I bought DH fo Chistmas had a few broken so I complained and they sent me a whole new HUGE box. I am never going to stop eating in the evenings at this rate.

OverRated · 07/01/2008 22:23

lol I have visions of poor Mrs Carrot disappearing under a mound of chocolate!

I wonder if we have greengages over here.

Didn't you start a no buying thread once?

I need wool but am too damned indecisive/stingy to just buy some. I could probably cope with a proper wool shop but the only one near here has unpleasant notices forbidding children to touch the wool. So I don't go there.

TooTicky · 07/01/2008 23:03

Are you doing the freelance thing?

I don't exactly knit much, but I keep meaning to. Actually, I'm switching to crochet more as my arms are a bit odd when they are knitting. And there aren't so many stitches to worry about.
Yes, I'm on Ravelry - recently, and haven't explored much - and have actually found a pattern I want to do, hence the need for wool.
