For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page

She won't. She's wiggling her arse with this new name. I love Zip. I can't call her good girl though I find.

FMV. Come back. I want to discuss your life options.

filthymindedvixen · 07/01/2008 18:47

It is scary. But his mental wellbeing is more important...his partner is a very Difficult Person and the work situation has contributed mightily to his bouts of mid-life-crisisy angst and depressive periods this year. He came home whistling and with a bottle of bubbly.
Not exactly got another job to go to but apparently has some ''Options''. It will take about 3 months before he actually leaves. It will be fine.

ahundredtimes · 07/01/2008 18:49

No it will be fine, I'm sure. His happiness is more important, you're right.

Brave new world. I think it's a brave and proper and honourable thing to do.

filthymindedvixen · 07/01/2008 18:52

LOL at bus - your dad sounds like Dh's business partner....

BBBee · 07/01/2008 18:54

it is brave and if he is happy that is very important. We had a time when DP gave up job as unhapy - I was stressed but opened lots of avenues.

why a boat though?

why?

littlerach · 07/01/2008 19:01

A boat sound sbetter than a carragie clock or parker pen though

Where is TooT?
I nee dot be bale to answer dh' s questiopns about Sweden and Swedish things.

It probably won't ahppen though.

MrsCarrot · 07/01/2008 19:06

Rhubarb is very good for you, I believe, it doesn't something good with mucus in the colon and has eostrogen or something. I think it's not good for people with athritis for some reason, ot gout, because of purines?

I don't know, but I think it is delicious. Especially the very pale pink forced stuff that Nigella perches on some creamy stuff in a pie. Mmmm. It's also nice baked slowly with a little vanilla and topped on a cream meringue.

This is the last day of my ABs. Tomorrow I can have a drink.

MrsCarrot · 07/01/2008 19:08

What a dreadful post, all stuff and some and doesn'ts, I don't seem to be able to write at all.

MrsCarrot · 07/01/2008 19:10

Can we have a new thread? I don't feel like having Auld wotsit in my head anymore, especially as I missed it anyway.

BBBee · 07/01/2008 19:10

for carrot from hugh feranlly fuckface

"we usually have a drink and some nibbles before lunch. I quite like having a champagne and rhubarb cocktail. You cook the rhubarb in fresh orange juice and sugar until it's tender. Then you fill a quarter of a glass with the rhubarb syrup and top it up with champagne"

ahundredtimes · 07/01/2008 19:12

[hugs Mrs C]

So nah, it is good for you, it's good for your mucus and doesn't make your teeth rot.

Ooh rhubarb and champagne? Now we're talking.

Are you better MrsC?

BBBee · 07/01/2008 19:13

the champagne is to take you mind off you dissolving teeth.

ahundredtimes · 07/01/2008 19:14

[gums happily]

MrsCarrot · 07/01/2008 19:16

Oh, BBBee, that sounds absolutely delicious!

MrsCarrot · 07/01/2008 19:17

ie. put rhubarb in my champagne

MrsCarrot · 07/01/2008 19:17

God, I really want a drink, I have missed it a lot. Should I be worried about that?

filthymindedvixen · 07/01/2008 19:19

I have done the rhubabr and champagne thingy (Northern allotmeneer, see!) Tis delicious. Chiiled vodka with rhubarb juice is also very very VERY good....!

The boat is because, well the partner has a boat which he bought on a whim some years back and loves DH very much and knows he can't give Dh a proper redundancy package. And apparently we may get £20k (or more) if we flog it

ahundredtimes · 07/01/2008 19:20

http://www.lifescience.uzh.ch/knowledge/askus.asp?id=223&lc=en this charming man says it has oxyalic acid and doesn't hurt your teeth

I didn't read it all actually because I couldn't stop staring at the man at the top with the funny eyebrows and the look of terror on his face.

MrsCarrot · 07/01/2008 19:20

I will pour myself some piss water sparkling water and put in a raspberry from Peru. That will be exotic.

SantaBabyBeenAnAwfulGoodGirl · 07/01/2008 19:22
