you must stop with me i can;t do this alone.

LucyLasticBand · 19/11/2007 14:35

will try harder.
patches for me too, i knew when i threw bacci in bin, instead of down the loo, that the temptation woudl be too great.

Magdelanian · 19/11/2007 18:00

Got up this morning. Had a day off work. Smoked my last fag at 10.30. Going cold turkey. Felt dissy this afternoon and I hate the unsettled feeling in my stomach, usually lasts 3 days. I've quit before hope I can do it this time.

Good luck to any fellow quitters out there.

Tortington · 19/11/2007 20:28

good luck mags - i am still a non smoker these patches work a treat.

Tortington · 20/11/2007 08:28

im still a non smoker - day 2

zookeeper · 20/11/2007 08:39

allen Carr did it for me . Also when you are out look at smokers and concentrate on the greyness andsmelliness that they exude. Alos try to lose the camaraderie that the tobacco companies have spent millions creating - lose the words "fag" and "ciggie" - you are paying to put burniong sticks of poison in your mouth.

FAWKEOFFwiththetinsel · 20/11/2007 11:01

2 days....just remember the nicotine is out of our body and your lungs are replenishing themselves

Tortington · 20/11/2007 13:57

am on patches i have nicotine running nay coarsing through my veins as we speak - however i am not smoking and thats the important factor to me at the moment and even more important i havent turned into the mad old bitch from hell ( well not anymore than i usually am) i even managed to have a spatular fight with the boys without the social services being involved or anything! like you do when cooking tea.

FAWKEOFFwiththetinsel · 20/11/2007 15:38

harleyd · 20/11/2007 15:46

its not so much the craving, its the times of day where i would be having one out of habit.
teeth brushing is working wonders lol

FAWKEOFFwiththetinsel · 20/11/2007 15:48

i soo know what you mean you just have to change your routine, just think in a week or so you will look back and be so pleased with yourself x

Magdelanian · 20/11/2007 16:32

I'm still not smoking but the bloody cravings are getting to me. I'm also finding anything winds me up. Still I know it gets easier. Keep going Custardo666 and Harleyd on day 2 like me.

I've tried Alan Carr, Patches, Gum, Zyban, everything going. Did an 8 months quit cold turkey once so lets hope this one can be the final one.

Tortington · 20/11/2007 16:40

harleyd · 20/11/2007 16:43

im ok again, i nearly had a meltdown earlier

well done us

Tortington · 20/11/2007 21:51

i am still a non smoker. this evening has been partic difficult as dh and i feed each others addiction and he is still smoking. we had a lovely tea followed by ice cream and a fag would have just been devine.

now i am chewing that fucking awful disgusting putrid gum. i chew for a minute then spit it out - its disgusting - but i'm desperate.
