For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page.

nobody loves me...nobody cares........

well actually that's not true...the postman does...he turned up at 3.45pm yesterday with parcels...but not enough parcels....i muttered about the apparant lack of a beanie hat i had ordered...lack of headgear in colours to match things makes me tearful at the moment

he looked sad & mumbled about wanting to leave the p.o & scuttled off
when we returned from the cinema there on the mat was my missing package..with hand written note from postman saying that he had found the package at the depot ready for delivery tomorrow....but thought he would bring it round so i could have it that night ...ahhhhhhhhh

FrannyandZooey · 13/10/2007 09:10

Lullabyloo · 13/10/2007 09:16

just generally battling stuff emotionally i guess & feeling wretched about stuff

it is now when you need a large, supportive family, who are kind of normal.........tee hee,ho ho......is there really such a thing.

We are off to Wilderness woods late morning
I absolutely heart it there...the woods will soothe me..i'll be fine later
ds will be too...he's a tree hugger,stick lover,wood sprite

FrannyandZooey · 13/10/2007 09:17

The woods will certainly sort you out - is it fresh and beautiful there like it is here?

I don't know any supportive, normal, etc etc families. This is why all we lost souls are here on the internet trying to look after one another

zippitippitoes · 13/10/2007 09:26

franny i would ring them...its what i do when i have a problem with an order and people are usually very responsoive

lionheart · 13/10/2007 09:26

What a lovely postie you have, Lullaby.

Franny, yes, ring them and let them know, they will be o.k. It's not your fault and if you just turn up and exude a sense of occasion, two year olds will love it.

lionheart · 13/10/2007 09:27

It is a beautiful, beautiful day.

FrannyandZooey · 13/10/2007 09:28

yes I wanted to phone them, but I thought might be unprofessional and make it look bad etc

so I will do it

Lullabyloo · 13/10/2007 09:28

poor franny....have just caught up
sorry your feeling rotten lovely
have you any manuka honey?

lionheart · 13/10/2007 09:29

No, it looks professional, and as if you care about it and are keeping them informed.

TooTicky · 13/10/2007 09:33

Oh LL!
Enjoy the woods. I am taking ds2 and dd2 to a woody place today, and swimming.

Franny, how about doing funny actions to music/different sounds? Or bringing instruments and getting thewm to play them? Or making puddles and jumping in them together? Just turn up, smile and croak hello. If they don't express sympathy and understanding, they don't deserve you.

TooTicky · 13/10/2007 09:37

Dd2 seems to have developed a sort of a stutter. Am hoping it will pass by itself.

I'm away for the weekend. Just getting ready and dh will kill me if he catches me on here cos I've been chivvying him along all morning and keep pointing out the time!! We're supposed to be leaving at 11.

Will try my best to eat fruit and veg but the company will make it difficult!! Will also try to play S*&%$@le Franny!

See you all Monday night!

Btw - title does look a bit innuendo-y!

fullmoonfiend · 13/10/2007 11:35

Morning all!
Franny, I had a good game for that age group at preschool (which I made up .

They stand in a space and you give them commands eg - runner bean (they run on the spot) Jumping bean (they, well, jump!), jelly bean (they wobble), broad bean (they do a sort of braod sumo pose, legs apart, arms apart and puff their cheeks out) and French bean (they all shout ooh la la! in high pitched voices). They adore it and it fills in acres of minutes

That fire bowl looks like an almighty rip off to me. We have a £12 Habitat barbeque bucket which is ideal for toasting marchmallows on. (we fill it with a mini bonfire as opoosed to charcoal IYSWIM.)
And we have done suasages on it. And those wierd bread wrap thingys you may remember making in guides/

zippitippitoes · 13/10/2007 11:40

went to a party a couple of weeks ago and they had a fire bowl and we were outside until 2.00am it was in a courtyard type garden but quite big and was very good i was amazed

that game sounds good franny have you runbg them/

i have just been chatting with another pof

and he has suggested we meet

he appears to be a hunk with a brain too

so i must get my fruit and veg sorted now

fullmoonfiend · 13/10/2007 11:44

I have a fire pit in my garden - it's awesome. It is sturdy and black on legs, with a big round bowl, tiopped with bbq grate and a domes grid lid/ The stand doesn't get hot and we use it all year round. but that bowl is just a pathetic excuse to fleece people - £30 for just a fireproof bowl??? with £20 for a pan and stand??
Just get a firepit!

zippitippitoes · 13/10/2007 11:45

oh fmf that sounds like what they had

I have done my two sports sessions using the amp and headset and just whispering, and somehow (how I don't know?) my voice is BETTER than when I started. It's warmed it up or something? I can actually sing, a little bit, and I think if I use the headset again and just talk quietly I might even be able to do my usual party schedule

although it now feels like it is swelling up / closing up a bit [fear] so I am praying in 3 hours time it will still be ok

I have honey, just some crap sort but it has helped, and sage tea, and lemons, and hot water, and strepsils. And a prayer and a big smile.

I phoned them and they were super nice and said "the children will not even notice and we will all help out and sing loudly" I love my job sometimes.

zippitippitoes · 13/10/2007 12:39

there yiu see people are 99 times brilliant when you ring them and you end up being recommended and they love you more
