For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page.

Well can someone give me links to buy a fire pit then? I just need to get something and I don't too much care what. The advantage of the bowl is that it is small and contained, and would be very suitable for an arsonistic 4 year old, plus it won't make our fence burn down and sit around on the patio for me to bark my shins on.

I have at last realised that the thread title is totally filthy. What were we thinking of?

Everyone have fun in the woods and on holiday and stuff.

FrannyandZooey · 13/10/2007 12:45

Yes it was definitely my instinct Zippi, but I know that sometimes I am inclined to draw people's attention to a problem and apologise for stuff that they might not have even noticed if I hadn't have pointed it out. And I would be better off shutting up and getting on with it. And I wondered if this was one of those occasions. So thank you for your advice

what is a pof?

I like the title BTW. It appeals to the filthy-minded part of me . I snigger every time I see it

FrannyandZooey · 13/10/2007 12:56

Thanks FMF, great game!

I love the firewok. But it is £59 and I haven't got £59.

zippitippitoes · 13/10/2007 13:03

a pof is a person with a profile on www.plentyoffish.com

FrannyandZooey · 13/10/2007 13:10

I thought it might be a Person O f F t'internet

lionheart · 13/10/2007 14:08

less expensive one here

FrannyandZooey · 13/10/2007 14:10

Ooh it is lovely. 38 bolts to put it together! Imagine the bonding experience ds and dp could have doing that together

lionheart · 13/10/2007 14:33

Like meccano, with flames.

FrannyandZooey · 13/10/2007 14:45

My god yes

thank you all, you are all so bloody good at helping me to find out what will make us happy in life

fire pits will do it, for sure

TooTicky · 13/10/2007 14:47

Have swum and parked. Really lovely little pool, shallow all over, beautifully painted walls, dangling birds and 2 slides for tiddlers.

If you are lured back to the expensive (yet beautifully smooth and compact) one I have a voucher for 10% off anything over fifty quid so it would save you a fiver or the cost of postage.

zippitippitoes · 13/10/2007 15:26

expenive one might be a good investment lol

ahundredtimes · 13/10/2007 15:50

Ladies. What were you thinking! Who did this weeks thread title? Fess up.

Haven't read. Am in a whirl. Have been round supermarket and back and taken dd to a party, and ds1 has been into town with me making very unhelpful suggestions about ds2s birthday present.

Party tomorrow. Stood staring at cakes in shops, thought of you all, decided to risk another home-made one. Wish it could be another pavlova. That was seriously good.

Beenleigh · 13/10/2007 15:54

Oooooh how rude!
I am thus inspired to attempt to eat ten.....ten, ten? portions of fruit and veg a day.

Does anyone actually consistently manage this?

fullmoonfiend · 13/10/2007 16:08

hmm not to wee on your strawberries, but mine has a grid on for cooking too
And today it has proved truly multifunctional in a suitably 10/10 way by allowing me to rinse off my allotment veg without having to clog up sink with mud.
And dsses often enjoy using it as a water table and flotaing boats, battling watery dinosaurs etc

(unhelpfully, argos don't seem to do them anymore...)

Tatties · 13/10/2007 16:41

Ooh I love a rude title

TooT have you had the lavender chocolate before? I keep seeing it in the shop but haven't succumbed yet...

I have some lentil and veg soup bubbling away, feeling a bit brooding as dp and I are being a bit shitty with each other it will blow over but I hate disharmony.

Lully, you know I am a bit of a novice knitter, and I don't know if it's your thing, but if you would like a knitted hat I would certainly have a go for you.

fullmoonfiend · 13/10/2007 16:45

Tatties, what's up my sweetling?
What has caused disharmony? (email me if you want to moan about it, mate...)

Tatties · 13/10/2007 16:57

Oh it's ok... I think we're both tired and irritable, we keep winding each other up unintentionally and taking offence at the slightest thing the other one says... it's silly and we need to stop it.

FrannyandZooey · 13/10/2007 17:19

100 it was NOT ME

it was TooT of all people (the quiet ones are always the worst)

I am back from party, it was LOVELY, hoorah. I started off with the headset thing and then my voice squeaked appallingly on a high bit and went out of tune and everyone looked at each other in an "oh dear what now, she is dreadful singer and we have to sit here for 45 mins and pretent it is ok" kind of way. So ditched the headset and just brazened it out singing as loudly and bravely as I could. And it was fine and everyone was PROPERLY pleased and I am happy.

Ds was just jumping around and then said "grown ups don't show when they are happy, like children do." This seemed very sad to me, especially when he said "don't worry, it's ok mummy, I don't mind."

FrannyandZooey · 13/10/2007 17:22

Tatties, sorry to hear that, both being tired and irritable is horrid. If you can unilaterally stop it and start being very very reasonable, sort of like a parody of reasonableness, I sometimes find that helps, but it isn't always possible to even pretend.

Beenleigh we most certainly do manage it. Don't we? We used to. I am sure Lully does, and probably Avi. I did yesterday. I eat 4 or 5 for breakfast, most days, so I am sure I must. Are you joining us, then?

FrannyandZooey · 13/10/2007 17:23

I don't know about the fire pit. I like the small one and I think it looks nicely made and I don't mind spending money on something genuinely useful and good quality. But the big one looks funner and I like the mesh thing and I am sure we could get a grill thing for it if we wanted to. I am going to have a look round for other ones tonight, but the second large one is a goer at the moment.

fullmoonfiend · 13/10/2007 18:18

I have downloaded some more photos - anyone want a nosey?

fullmoonfiend · 13/10/2007 18:23

ah no, apparently I have just wasted the past 35 minutes downloading my photos into the ether...

International women of mystery, I will have to remain .
