For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page

Look Franny. Look at all the apples.

FrannyandZooey · 22/09/2007 14:07

You know, if I had previously considered the concept of leading a long-running healthy eating thread on a national parenting forum, I kind of thought it would be different to this

TooTicky · 22/09/2007 14:08

Really?

I am hopless at those kind of mill round and make polite conversation events, especially when no alcohol is involved

And I always overanalyse everyhting terribly anyway so I need some distraction today

I am going to do some bulk cooking in a minute including some nice veggie soup

TooTicky · 22/09/2007 14:10

Hello Lion, how's the mane?
Have you read The Brothers Lionheart by Astrid Lindgren?
Have I asked you this before?

FrannyandZooey · 22/09/2007 14:10

"I am hopless at those kind of mill round and make polite conversation events, especially when no alcohol is involved "

oh god me too how do people do it?

TooT, yes. I did.

FrayedKnot · 22/09/2007 14:10

A;though some would go down very nicely I must say

TooTicky · 22/09/2007 14:11

It's pointless polite conversation though, isn't it? Why are you making polite conversation? Because you're there. Why are you there? To make polite conversation.

FrannyandZooey · 22/09/2007 14:11

You know I have never tasted a Booja Booja truffle. The site I order a lot of my stuff from has a friend referral scheme where they send you free Booja Booja if a friend orders through them. I am going to post the code on here next time they send me one.

lionheart · 22/09/2007 14:15

No and no TooT. Should I? Is it good?

I am also rubbish at the polite conversation thing ...

FrayedKnot · 22/09/2007 14:15

Yes, and most of it is so dull, but still

I hate it when you see a group of people you would like to talk to, and you kind of sidle up and have to wait for people to include you in the convo and what do you do if they don;t, how long do you wait and aaagh!!!

I am SURE there is some kind of gene I am missing or perhaps they did it at school and I was ill or something but I just don;t GEt it.

Hmm...I am a Booja Booja virgin

lionheart · 22/09/2007 14:16

Rude, I can probably do.

TooTicky · 22/09/2007 14:16

I have just poked myself in the eye with some scissors.

FrannyandZooey · 22/09/2007 14:17

TooT were you running with them at the time?

TooTicky · 22/09/2007 14:17

It's beautiful, Lionheart, but quite difficult to get hold of.

TooTicky · 22/09/2007 14:18

No, I was standing up telling ds2 not to cut up dd2's yogurt pot.

FrannyandZooey · 22/09/2007 14:19

I am still trying to catch up on the last thread

BBB on Saturdays official job title is sports coach. To 2 and 3 year olds I sing songs and things and they play and we call it sports. It makes the parents happy

FrannyandZooey · 22/09/2007 14:19

Is your eye ok?

TooTicky · 22/09/2007 14:21

Well, I can't quite open it and it feels odd but it's not dripping blood or anything.

FrayedKnot · 22/09/2007 14:21

Ow TooT!

lionheart · 22/09/2007 14:25

Ouch. Can you see out of it?

FrannyandZooey · 22/09/2007 14:25

Do you think it needs looking at?

How do you mean, you can't open it?

lionheart · 22/09/2007 14:26

And when you say eye, which bit?

FrannyandZooey · 22/09/2007 14:38
