For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page.

I am frightened to wash mine in case any more falls out
Bald will not be a good look for me....no sireeeeee

I have had mango, strawberry banana & passionfruit salad & vanilla porridge.

ds & I made potato, pea & mint samosa's for lunch with a yoghurty tzaziki type dip as dh bought filo & didn't know what to do with it.

IdrisTheDragon · 08/09/2007 14:54

Thank you for the birthday wishes .

Am having a very nice day - children obliged by not waking up too early and were then very nice indeed. DD opened most of my presents (when it is her birthday on 20th she will be in 17th heaven I think). Then we went to the park together. Came back and had pizza (with olives. Many of them in DD and DS's case).

I am now alone in the house with the world gymnastics competition for company , as there are Important things to get for Birthday Tea.

My sister and boyfriend are coming for the aforesaid tea and then babysitting while DH and I go and have dinner and go to the cinema. To see Atonement I think.

I am 32. And have short brown hair with blond bits in it. Looks nicer than that description .

ahundredtimes · 08/09/2007 14:56

I didn't. I thought, and I still do, that Franny has short auburn hair which she frequently wears in two small plaits, tied with amusing ribbons.

I have drunk a lot of water and taken about 4 neurofen. I feel quite spacey and headache free.

ds2 out with mate, dh has taken the other two to play tennis. It won't go well, there will be tears, but I am here, allegedly organising THREE children's birthday parties and ONE fortieth for dh. Groan.

Have booked inappropriate soft play place for dd, where they will get too hot and cry and all the boys will bang heads and hit each other.

Do we think ds2 would like to take friends horse-riding? Hmm? As a rule ds2 would rather not do anything, but I want him too.

Near Bristol there is somewhere where you can play with laser guns in a forest. Given that ds1 doesn't have many friends, I wonder whether a) its advisable to shoot the few we manage to rustle up b) his glasses would fall off in the mud c) it'd be the coolest party ever.

Your thoughts please.

Lullabyloo · 08/09/2007 14:56

Haaaaaaaaaaaaappy Birthday

ahundredtimes · 08/09/2007 14:57

Oh and Idris and Boco, if you need a birthday party organised I am your lady. Am doing four this afternoon, can easily fit in another two.

Lullabyloo · 08/09/2007 14:58

100x....you do make me I love your posts

ahundredtimes · 08/09/2007 15:06

LL. Hurrah. Are you back from your trip? Did you have fun.

I love your breakfasts.

Lullabyloo · 08/09/2007 15:11

havn't been yet....off on the 21st

ahundredtimes · 08/09/2007 15:16

How are you doing? Did ds deign to leave his nursery for the weekend or is he still camped out there, on that swing in the apple tree?

Lullabyloo · 08/09/2007 15:25

Am plodding on.....ds so wants to live there...weekends are such a drag

Lullabyloo · 08/09/2007 15:27

he is contemplating whether he wants to come away to Devon with us & miss nursery

filthymindedvixen · 08/09/2007 15:28

100x: my ds1 (9) went to one of the those parties. It was ''the coolest party ever'' and now ds wants his birthday there. However, his birthday is in december and I suspect it wouldn't be quite as cool running round in the freezing rain all day. (But to say ds is not the most robust child and the other boys were all a bit 'alpha' male and he still came back raving about the day....)

BBBee · 08/09/2007 15:35

hey LL - nice to see you - nice food - as ever!

Am sulking as you all say "boco" wrong even boco.

Only came on to say to Fran I emailed you but from diff account so might get junked.

Do shoot 'em up party - will be cool. My ds wants one but can;t find place near us.

Got to go to swimming party now and have agreed to be a 'swimming parent' rather than a parent would sneaks off for a latte and a read. Bugger - must pay more attention in converstaions.

Oh and looks like this thread won;t last the night so let's have a title fight.

I suggest "Escape from Blood Castle" as it is the book lying on the floor at my feet.

BBBee · 08/09/2007 15:40

BUGGER BUGGER BOLLOCKARAMA!

have just gone for pre-party wee and my period has started.

Sod.

filthymindedvixen · 08/09/2007 15:41

I think we need to have Praise The Gourd! Everyone liked that one.

But - please franny, please can we have Super-cauli-veggie-tastic-vit C-in-high-doses
one week, please? It will drive everyone mad! (I've been singing it all day anyway...)

filthymindedvixen · 08/09/2007 15:42

now see, if you had a mooncup it would be no problem {smug]

ahundredtimes · 08/09/2007 16:00

You can swim with a mooncup?

OK. Thank you Filthy (I needed Beta male stories) and BBee. We will do shooting. Is in October, according to the website they won't notice whether it's raining or not, they'll all be adrenaline junkies in blue hats and fatigues.

ahundredtimes · 08/09/2007 16:23

Boco - I haven't got your email. I know you think it's me, but it's not. We are jinxed that's all. Or perhaps you've emailed foxinsocks and she's sitting there now in her house, scratching her head, thinking 'what good idea? when did I have a good idea?'

I always read it as Bocko. Sorry. I should know better, ds1 and I used to know all of Sodor's sodding branch lines and signal stops. I seem to have erased this part of my life from my mind.

filthymindedvixen · 08/09/2007 16:24

well, it won't help you to swim if you couldn't before...but yes, one can go swimming with mooncup in place.

It's not that ds is a beta male - he's far too individual for that. He is an incredibly fast runner for example but not sporty in the traditional sense. And not a great one for organised group activity.

See, Filthy again! Can you see yourselves calling me this at the meet-up?

TooTicky · 08/09/2007 18:04

100x, I had my mooncup in my bag today. I could have shown it to you if you'd said hello We could have done some bird spotting too.
Actually I must stop carrying it around as I keep mistaking it for my purse and nearly pulling it out in shops.
Out of my bag that is.

I hate the sound of those shooty parties, especially the indoor ones where they have all that thumpy music to encourage people to be extra horrid. I don't think that's quite how they advertise it but ds1 gave me a leaflet about it in a meaningful sort of way and it was most offputting. That said, boys of a certain age do seem to like this sort of thing

LL, do you think the novelty of nursery will have worn off a little by the time you go away? Maybe?
My mouth is watering over your fruity salad and vanilla porridge.

FrannyandZooey · 08/09/2007 18:04

Oh I assumed the next thread would be Anne of Green Gages? As it is quite funny, and seasonal.

I have been shopping.

I have also eaten chard, tofu, ooh, and loads of stuff, in a stir fry.

We are all synchronising again, hoorah

I gave my mooncup a good boil today (I have to digress into TMI to unnerve 100x)
