For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page.

Stock up on loo roll first!!

DollyPopsOut · 03/09/2007 10:38

Hello everyone

Sorry not to have posted for a while. I have had to do some work which caused not a little grief as my maternity brain took ages to crank up and get into gear. Still, I taught yesterday, I survived, punters seemed quite jolly and no one said "you've got baby milk on your top" or "your left boob seems to be leaking a bit", both of which were true by the end of the day. Even wore smart clothes and proper shoes!

I confess I haven't kept up with the 10/10 events in the last few weeks but hope to be about a bit more now.

How is everyone? What news?

No f and v yet, but have made a huge madeira cake

But, honestly, Doodle, it's worth it and you get mightily well entertained along the way to your 10/10!

THE CRYING CHOCOLATE DOES NOT TASTE LIKE EFFING SOAP!

Dear Boco -

please stop undermining my evangelism with your florette phobia and potentially denying any new convert of a near mystical experience. Thank you.

Sauerkraut...not sure how big your garden is, lol...as we have a 9 people tent.....it does fit in our garden, but took lots of space out of it....and our garden is not small,lol....
however, you probably have some campsites about anywya....oh, I know the Kids just would love the Mountains
And must watch the movie "Sissi" again, lol....because I am sure she might have gone to the canton when she fell ill....

Doodle....the best way to get fruit in ya is to have fruit for Breakfast....I find that way you get easily like up to 4 portions into yourself....and if you then snack on fruit or vegetables (like raw carrots, cucumber, peppers, etc....) and fill your dinner plate up with plenty of vegetables....it's not a problem to get the 10 portions...
lol at the looroll comment....must say, tmi alert...I usually have like problems, so, when I do get plenty of fruit and vegetables into myself, then things just get normal...iykwim
lol Dolly....Madeira cake sounds lovely

Oh, on the low carb thing ....Ryebread with Sunflower seeds is lovely, imo...and I find it is easier on teh system and I don't get bloated when eating it, as I would with otehr bread...

3andnomore · 03/09/2007 10:53

ooops....so....crying chocolate isn't actually soap...hm....misunderstood boco there...took it like literially (sp?)...

I can't believe you lot like this title better than It's Raining Mangoes

FrannyandZooey · 03/09/2007 10:57

HC this title has a silent and invisible cunting in it

you have to insert it mentally where the ellipsis thingy is

FrannyandZooey · 03/09/2007 10:58

I can't remember why that makes it funnier, but believe me, it does

Boco · 03/09/2007 10:59

if you see this woman, just say NO

Oh MrsC, or should that be Nancy L Bennett from Martinsville?! Well?

SauerKraut · 03/09/2007 10:59

Anything which includes cunting- silent or otherwise- is automatically and invariably hilarious. That's why. (Confirmed profanisaurus connoisseur here)

harpsichordcarrier · 03/09/2007 11:00

oh.
yes, that all makes perfect sense.

ProjectIcarusinhercar · 03/09/2007 11:01

Franny I just wanted to say that I think you are ace. You calmly carry on in the face of vehement opposition showing people a more natural/gentle child centered way to parent. I find your posts briliant for reassurance when I am struggling.

SauerKraut · 03/09/2007 11:01

Oh gosh, I misunderstood about the chocolate too! Doh. Might just have to investigate new kind of shit after all then.

BBBee · 03/09/2007 11:05

hi dolly well done on the proper shoes - nad done on the maderia cake unless you put a lemon rind in it and then you can eat the whole thing and count it as a portion.

Avi - I know you are not really here but I am starting my studying on Weds - we could be 10/10 study buddies - but I have no idea how that would work - um, we could only be on here for a specified time - I could chase you with assignments - I dunno.

Hi doodle stay - is fun.

SauerKraut · 03/09/2007 11:11

Kilo bar! Nooooooooooooooo!

MrsCarrot · 03/09/2007 11:13

See, Boco, 3andnomore, and Sauerkraut ACTUALLY believed your heathen ways and nearly missed out

SauerKraut · 03/09/2007 11:17

Well, MrsC, fear not on my behalf- my birthday is in November and will be a good enough excuse for conversion. DH will be only too pleased to know what I want. Kilo bar- bring it on!

MrsCarrot · 03/09/2007 11:18

scorpio?

filthymindedvixen · 03/09/2007 11:19

at chilli chocolate

I made some very-heavily-doctored-with-chilli chocolate once to cover some home made biscuits. A child at ds's school was pilfering all the nice things out of their lunchboxes.
Ds and I thought it would be a hoot.
I then spent several sleepless nights worrying n case the thief turned out to be allergic to chilli or something.
And some mumsnetters made me feel awful by saying ''what if the thief was being starved at home''? (highly unlikely as we are about the poorest family at this school )
But actually, all that happened was ds gained huge kudos by sharing out the doctored cookies with his friends and eating them to show how 'cool' he was....LOL

Sorry, just felt like sharing.

It's the adrenaline from finally finishing my homework....

SauerKraut · 03/09/2007 11:21

No, Sagittarius. Why hopeful?
Now that is a good one, FMV.
