For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page.

Avi - Um, can't remember the numbers, it was intro to humanities, then philosophy then english literature but I left before finishing. Transferred my credits though.

Did you really, FMV? That was very brave, did it stop him, did he actually eat any of it, the bullythief?

filthymindedvixen · 03/09/2007 11:24

MrsC, I don't know, as ds and his friends seemed to eat most of them for dares...but chilli chocolate is gorgeous (if it's not too hot)

MrsCarrot · 03/09/2007 11:25

hopeful as everyone else seems to be nice star signs wheras I am meant to be evil and obsesive and possesive, if it were true.

MrsCarrot · 03/09/2007 11:26

Is chilli choc meant to be good for the libido or I am just think of the film Chocolat with Jonny Depp?

filthymindedvixen · 03/09/2007 11:27

are you scorpio Mrs C?
Three of my best chums are Scorpio...

filthymindedvixen · 03/09/2007 11:28

well choc and chilli are supposed to be aphrodiasiacs so...
And if you throw JD into the equation, it sure works for me...

filthymindedvixen · 03/09/2007 11:28

or are they just both addictive

SauerKraut · 03/09/2007 11:32

I tried Lindt chilli chocolate and it was yuck. Had to give it away.

MrsCarrot · 03/09/2007 11:34

I quite fancy chilli now, might have that for dinner. DD has been asking for kidney beans.

filthymindedvixen · 03/09/2007 12:23

zippitippitoes · 03/09/2007 12:26

I didn't realise when I wrote it the implications..I have never actually had one, i just though I love chocolate and chilli

TooTicky · 03/09/2007 12:53

Have just skimmed the last 42,986 posts you have managed since Friday morning.

LL, HUGE RAINBOW COLOURED, MUSIC-PLAYING, FRUIT-SCENTED HUGS WITH A SPRIG OF ALGAE!!

Well, we went, we camped, we played around with circussy things, we ran out of money but not food...and I resisted the sun and wind powered internet tent although the novelty of posting a message from a Gloucestershire field was v. tempting. I am rather in love with the compost toilets.

TooTicky · 03/09/2007 12:55

Sauerkraut, I would LOVE to come and camp in your garden

3andnomore · 03/09/2007 13:10

read the messages and forgot what I wanted to say now...hm...but had a good giggle at the chilli chocolate thing....
Lidl sold Chilli choclate at one point and it was one that was extrememly high in cocoa, and it was absolutely adorable....but on the movie reference...well...I don't think I would need an aphrodisiac if Johnny Depp was invloved, rofl...
Toot....your camping sounds good fun But comppost toilets...what are they?
And maybe we should arrange a 10/10 camping -meet up- holiday nearby Sauerkrauts...

well, just had a fair few carrots with hoummus...hm.......

lionheart · 03/09/2007 13:12

Hello. So once this meet-up is done we are travelling further afield for the next. Is that right?

3andnomore · 03/09/2007 13:15

lol why not

I think a swiss meet up woudl be super,as long as it isn't like next month, lol...

filthymindedvixen · 03/09/2007 13:21

at your festy fun TT

TooTicky · 03/09/2007 13:24

Compost toilets - well, they were up little wooden steps in wooden huts and all the doings just fall down and you sprinkle in a handful of sawdust instead of flushing. I daresay somebody comes along at some point and does cunning things with a shovel but from a user's point of view I thought they were great. All that water saved. And they really weren't as smelly as ds1 and ds2 made out.

TooTicky · 03/09/2007 13:32

Ds2 has a fish. He desperately wanted to try fish, which is fair enough. So we bought a whole rainbow trout from a nice organicky place before we went and ds2 has now taken it out of the freezer and is saying things like, "He wanted to come out because he said, 'I am too hard and too cold.'" and "Can you hold him mum? He wants to be with you because he likes you."
I'm finding it all quite odd. Ds2 and dp are going to barbecue him later.

lionheart · 03/09/2007 13:37

Talking of sorry ends, those WWF adverts on the right are rather sad.

speedymama · 03/09/2007 13:45

Hi, 3anm told me about this thread so I thought I would gatecrash.

For lunch I had cous-cous mixed with tomato, cucumber and ham followed by an apple, a banana, a plum, a small bunch of grapes and two tangerines.

Has anybody else bought the Cook Yourself thin book? I recently received it and it has an interesting recipe for chocolate cake that includes 200g of beetroot?. I have not seen the programme but apparently it is delicious.

filthymindedvixen · 03/09/2007 13:49

het speedymama, welcome. Sounds like you're off to a great start

MrsCarrot · 03/09/2007 14:26

Yes, Speedymama, my friend has made me a beetroot cake. It's a bit like carrot or courgette cake but pink, even the icing had been dyed pink. Delicious. I liked that programme actually. I hadn't realised how many calories were in some meals. Thought the toff chefs were a little annoying though.

Toot - Glad you had fun! I must reply to your e-mail, thanks for that. I have sme questions but must do more pre-school stuff so will do it later.

SauerKraut · 03/09/2007 14:35

Shall I set a date and book a farmer's field? The more the merrier!
I might even manage a compost loo or too...
Speedymama, you are putting my efforts to shame. (I hope you've got plenty of loo roll too ).I have had tomato, flageolet beans, steamed courgette and a few bits of sweetcorn.
