Update on misdees hubby Peter :(

I have had misdee on the phone and she has asked me to update you all.

Peter has been put on the urgent list for a new heart
However, he will only be on the list for 3 weeks. The docs are saying he cannot live on his current VAD machine longer than 3 weeks due to too much build up in his tubes After those 3 weeks they will have to put in a new VAd machine which means more open heart surgery, 3 months recovery and carers and misdee retraining if he wants to come home. He will also be taken off the transplant list for atleast 3 months.

Peter is also considering refusing to let them replace his VAD as he is tired and knows how hard it will be on him and the family. Misdee is very upset by the news and is hoping that a new heart comes in the next 3 weeks so they dont have to consider any options. Peter is the only one waiting for a heart right now but she has told me that no heart transplants have happened in the last 3 months
This is a devastating blow for them, as they were hoping urgent list for longer as it increases his chance of transplant.

Sparkleygothcat (misdee's big sis) is away with family but if you want to email me (her lit sis) I will pass on any messages when is ee her tomorrow.

I'm thinking of them, and you and the rest of your family. It's an intolerable situation. I so hope he gets that call.

rarely post on misdee's threads as difficult to know what to say, but i hope they get good news soon

So sorry to hear this news. I am praying, as we all are, that some family will find it in themselves in the midst of their own tragedy to reach out to give Peter the lifeline that he needs.

Oh this all sounds very hard for the whole family. I'm obviously glad he's on the urgent list...but the situation sounds awful for everyone.
Can there be any publicity about how much Peter needs a heart in three weeks to try to encourage the relatives of anyone suitable to donate? Those three lovely girls who need their daddy would be a powerful incentive to me

Poor Peter (and all of them) -he must be so fed up. It's so crap

I honestly think it would be a story for the newspapers - 'these three girls need someone to give heir daddy a heart in the next three weeks'.
It would touch anyone.

i really hope they get the good news in the next 3 weeks and peter gets his new heart

aloha, I know they've done quite a bit of press stuff, it would be quite straightforward to do another print piece quickly
