For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page

I bought cashew butter today, nearly died at the price but thought maybe I shouldn't be eating so many peanuts. I didn't cut them out during pregnancy so it's not a good idea to now but will reduce it.

I am too full of pie now but I would like to try it with banana and rice cake, my snack of the month.

PinkPotterWeasleys · 16/07/2007 21:20

Have you read the misunderstood song lyrics thread MrsC? I nearly fell off my chair laughing!
I do like a good fry up but I actually grill or poach everything (except a very occasional piece of fried bread) and I like my own the best!
I keep meaning to cook with lentils but still haven't taken the plunge! I've got dried and tinned ones.
Oh and to add to my F&V list I had baked beans with my tea (not home made or anything! Just Branston ones from a tin).

FirenzeandZooey · 16/07/2007 21:20

I could never love cashew butter as much as peanut butter, mostly because of lack of crunch. I did give it up while pg / bf when ds was young so didn't have it for about 3 years

I forgot about the banana and nut butter rice cakes! Will have one tomorrow for lunch.

FirenzeandZooey · 16/07/2007 21:21

Yes grilling is nicer isn't it PSW? Except I remember when NQC did tortillas for me and she fried them - they were seriously gorgeous.

Just read your other thread Franny. Sounds exciting!

BocoBeak · 16/07/2007 22:11

Hello, i'm back, with very bad nutrition to report. Fantastic weekend at the festival, it was great. DDs loved dancing to music late into the night, arcade fire were amazing, spent lots of time pond dipping and hunting mini beasts and making fairies and stuff. Now very tired and with heaps of washing.

Franny just been reading that jon ronson thread, and i need you to know that i LOVe jon ronson, i have done since i first read one of his columns about 12 years ago. I think he's very funny and sweet and just generally charming. And i also think that you are very funny (you said you thought that you're the only person who finds you hilarious) - not just humouring you, you are hilarious, obviously.

Um, i just ate rubbish really. But i'll get back into the swing this week.

TheChamberofCarrots · 16/07/2007 22:13

Hurray! I knew you'd have a lovely time, Boco, how did you cope with the tent?

BocoBeak · 16/07/2007 22:21

The tent was a nightmare actually. it was more of an arena - ridiculously huge. couldn't carry it - had to wait hours for a wheelbarrow. There's no way i could have put it up on my own, - but luckily roped in several friends - at one point there were 8 of us trying, and even then had to get outside advice. But maybe none of us are pariticularly bright.

Its a bit of a silly tent, 2 bedrooms, then a kind of banquetting hall. Was fine once up, and we were parked next to camper van friends so had luxury of sink and water.

FirenzeandZooey · 16/07/2007 22:22

Boco, you're back! There were tomahawks and gingham, and 100x's friend wouldn't let ds play cards, and I got accosted and everything

OP posts:
BocoBeak · 16/07/2007 22:23

what?

PinkPotterWeasleys · 16/07/2007 22:27

Wow a tent with a banqueting hall! How many of you slept in this canvas mansion?!

FirenzeandZooey · 16/07/2007 22:27

it's all true

OP posts:
BocoBeak · 16/07/2007 22:30

Well four of us, two bedrooms, but the bedrooms aren't huge, there's just this giant arena area in the middle which the dds mostly used for doing roly polys and taking apart craft items they'd made.
