For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page

Hopefully the pox, so it will be done before we go away.

NotQuiteCockney · 30/06/2007 18:48

Lots of kids we know have had the pox recently, and I keep trying to convince DS2 to lick them.

Professorfilthymindedvixen · 30/06/2007 18:52

presumably only children known to him..or you will get odd looks!

FrannyandZooey · 30/06/2007 18:55

oh

you know someone on here recently said they had encouraged their child to get cp and then they had dreadful complications and they felt quite awful about it

I think I have decided to leave it to nature

Apologies to anybody who passes out as a result of my super-garlicky breath.... I could kill a vampire at fifty paces. With one breath. And with the wind blowing the wrong way.
Tomato, celery, scrap of pepper, onion and GARLIC

TooTicky · 30/06/2007 19:21

Franny, perhaps your ds could give us a few pointers - our lettuce didn't even germinate this year

FrannyandZooey · 30/06/2007 19:59

Oh TooT what a shame

we usually have black fingers so are very proud of ourselves

we completely revamped the garden this spring, previously it was full of shrubs left from previous owners and nothing to do with us at all

we jsut dug it all over, stuck a load of compost on it and ds dropped the whole packet of lettuce seeds in a shallow trench I had dug

the copious rainfall has done the rest for us I think, we are lettuce central

Oh, DS1 caught it on purpose, too, and was fine.

I'm sorry to hear you struggled with the carrot cake. The mix often is quite wet, and if you do it in a big pan (rather than as several layers), it could take more than an hour to cook. I never time these things, I just keep poking them with a toothpick to test.

MrsCarrot · 30/06/2007 20:05

He won, how exciting! We have some lettuce in a grow bag but it's looking a bit bedraggled.

Aviatrix- thanks for the knitting tip, I'm not very good at it. Well, I can knit in a straight line but can't cast on/cast off or do anything other than a line.

I do, however, have my new parcel of unspun wool for my baby balls so I could get on with that. Do you still want one for your treasure basket, Franny, and if so what colour would you like, and do you want a bell?

Toot- when is your dd's birthday, is it tomorrow?

FrannyandZooey · 30/06/2007 20:13

MrsC I don't mind what colour at all, but yes, please, I would like a bell

I do use a fairly thick grater thing. But the resulting mixture is really quite liquid, from what I remember.

Oh, did you drain the crushed pineapple a lot?

FrannyandZooey · 30/06/2007 20:34

I forgot to say that Greeny has sent me several emails with about 20 title suggestions for next week

I am mildly concerned about her

Yes PLEASE nobody else suggest any titles this week, or in fact this month, as I feel it may tip Greeny over the edge if I don't use all of hers
