For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page

Oh don't encourage her Tatties

she is emailing me hourly with the most abysmal vegetable-based humour

I am considering seeking help on her behalf but fear I would get dragged down with her pulse-ridden madness myself

Oh to lie on the beach, how nice would that be?
I hope it is better weather than this when we have our tipi holiday.

A banana, apple, nectarine, blueberries and raspberries and watermelon. Again. I am finding I can squeeze a lot more fruit in than I used to be able to.

I also had quinoi toast, it was a very strange (and expensive) spongey cube of a loaf and I wasn't too hopeful about it. It is surprisingly nice however, makes a change from rye bread.

Actually the sun is shining at the moment, might take dc's out on the bike before it clouds over. Have a nice Sunday.

FrannyandZooey · 01/07/2007 09:40

It's sunny here too and we are planning tea on the beach [ever hopeful]

forecast says showers in the morning, so we may even get away with it

I will assemble some of the finest thread titles for your perusal, Avi, if you are sure you wouldn't just like me to wow you with one on Monday morning....?

Hello everyone.

Happy birthday to little TooT.

I've been told that "there's no such thing as bad weather, only the wrong clothing."

Can you get togged up and embrace the elements anyhow, aviatrix?

Ok here in all its glorious insanity is the proof of how Greeny has spent her weekend:

The Sun'll Come Out To Marrow

When Shall We Three Beet Again

Float Like A Butternut, Sting Like A Pea

It'll All Come Out In The Squash

And Did Those Beet In Ancient Time

It's Been A Chard Day's Night

The Lady's Not For Turnip

Your Cabbage Awaits, My Lady

The sky is darkening like a stain,
Something is going to fall, like rain
And it won't be cauliflowers

Lower Fourth at Celery Towers

Chive Go To Smugglers Top

Iceberg With My Little Eye, Something Beginning With V....

Ask Not For Whom The Kale Curls - It Curls For Thee

I don't really have the words to convey the unhinged manner in which she sent these emails. They were accompanied by comments such as "I laughed so hard thinking this one up that I nearly shat a kidney"

I am meant to be going on holiday with this woman next month

I know, I know. I feel like sending a "With Sympathy" card to her dh

but which one did you like the best?

OP posts:
ahundredtimes · 01/07/2007 14:57

lol. I like 'Ask not for who the kale curls' is very funny.

I have eaten smoothie for breakfast: pineapple, banana, orange and peach.

Salad nicoise for lunch, rocket, lettuce, tomato, beetroot and onion.

NotQuiteCockney · 01/07/2007 15:02

Yes, her DH clearly needs some sort of special support. Is there a sort of AlAnon thing, only for people who live with punners?
