desperate fag quitter! Anyone similar, fancy mutual support group?!

To my shame it's about my 167th attempt to quit fags... anyone out there trying the same who would like to start a support thingie here where we can rant and vent our frustrations and praise each other? I'm starting tomorrow...

Hi girls, first chance I've had to get to pc - good night last night, fab prawn curry made by dh - did crave & crave and started at his cig packet but ate about 47 stuffed olives instead...

hope you're feeling less angsty cc and you too mm...

have some un faggy things coming up to keep me strong;
tomorrow's race in paisley
next sunday's race in edinburgh
oct 2 race in perthshire... eek!
mum coming in a coupla weeks to help out with kids (hated sneaking out for fags when mum came over, felt such a ninny)
also my hotel weekend in 2 weeks' time to kick start the next book - have done this before, know it sounds v swanky but I do work & work like a loon - and in previous times have sat there for 2 whole days in vile fag filled room, chain smoking... Not this time, am gonna use gym over road from hotel & run through streets of glasgow...
lovely sunny day, am gonna tackle our wilderness of a garden with dd, boys out at footie with dh...

will check in this eve girls, hope you're feeling good & strong -

Glad to see everyones still here...was gonna rename it Charliecats Lonely Thread.....HS I cant wait to have you with us rattling away and telling us of your torture...its not that bad though, really...or is it????

Oh God, just had a sneaky one because i was left alone in the house. took extra fast drags, wrapped the butt in a bag so it wouldn't stink the bin up and ran upstairs to spray something perfumed on myself in case anyone came back.

HOW SAD.

Am now remembering the absurdity of desperation and how you don't necessarily want to have a fag, you just THINK you do and even rush one for the sake of it.

Come on CC, i need your harsh slaps on the hand and some AC reminders!! (AC is far too nice on that cd rom, needs to be shouting at me not telling me there is no right or wrong answer!!!)

MM what a ridiculus state to find yourself in....think back to those glorious 3 weeks where you felt as if you were in control of it all, it may have been tough some days but it was a sight lot less humilating than what you have been through today.
DO NOT have another fag, you are just prolonging the agony.
You DO NOT enjoy them, you are just feeding the nicotine monster and keeping him alive.
If you dont feed him he will die and you will be free...

well done cc, you're doing well. am going to see 'the village' nice scary movie. that's another 2 hrs without a fag for sure, so that's better than of late.

hope you're not lonely - i'm still busyish tomorrow but will try my best to keep you company as i don't see anyone else here!!!

mm you're just having a minor wobble - the nicotine's cranked up your cravings and having some fags in the house is just a no no - far far too tempting! Maybe you could finish them off tonight, then DO NOT BUY ANY MORE OR LET DH BUY ANY FOR YOU!!

Am a bit crabby mysefl right now, still crave like mad this time of day - early eve - esp as I know dh has some - but am in hurry to get dd to bed, storied, then get down to watch Kes with the boys - fantastic film, ever seen it? Nah - you're both far too young!!

leaving for race v early tomorrow - will check in during eve - mm if I hear of any more sneaky puffs I'll get on a plane and come over and slap ya ... seriously, PLEASE don't stress or beat yourself up...

Fiona will be cheering you on Tommorow...wow hasnt that came quick?????!!!! Good Luck and it will do WONDERS for your self esteem(sp?) and your lungs.
Im having to become steel willed as you two keep diving into fag packets and im determined im not going to or this would be the biggest disaster of a non smoking club ever LMAO!!!!!!!!
I have of course cheated with the herbal fags but im trying to give that up as well.
Let me know what the village is like, im sure i saw and ad and it looked too scary

Since i only have 2 left in the packet, i have decided to just be done with it and finish them and then have a sense of closure. will have one for each of you . Also, i feel it is my duty to be an example failure for this thread as we got on the homepage today and anyone looking in will not feel left out for smoking...we were doing so well and looked far too angelic! only joking girls, i will help to keep this thread alive and be a proper non-smoker again.

The village was good and naturally scary but def. recommend seeing it. dh didn't like the twist but i thought it was good. bung those kids off at mum's and go and see it cc!

Im still in pain, picnic was lovely, will prob bore you with photos of tasha fishing later, wondering how the hell in gonna get the kids to scholl/nursery and im meant to be at nursery for 4 days this week...on crutches???? Hoping it settles down its just muscle twisted or something. Hows u?

thanks for your cheers girls!!! It was a really hard course, hilly, prob not helped by my intermittent fagging lately and hefty arse - did it in 64 mins, exac same as my first proper race in may - was hoping to 'break' the hour as they say but bugger it, did as much as I could without being stretchered off or sitting at roadside sobbing a la paula r. (and have another next sun in edinburgh so hope to do better).

HIDDEN SPIRIT GOOD TO HAVE YOU WITH US!! How's the zyban - not doing anyhting weird I hope???

cc admire your willpower trying to give up spliff as well... and mm well you finished the packet, waste not want not... come on, rejoin all clean lunged tomorrow, we have to beat this - me too, I have had 2 fags tonight!!! And I don't bloody know why! Beach day tomorrow with dd and wholesome earthy pal and her kids... hope to feel all inner cleansed, have to refocuss willpower somehow.

MONDAY WILL BE FRESH START! (ps I think cc is gonna come round here any minute with that hammer. I sweat I saw her lurking at the window with some kind of mallet thing). xxxx

WELL DONE FG!!!!!! that is a brilliant time, even though it wasnt what you wanted, the average person cant jog for 10 mins, me defivetly included....why you celebrated with clogging your lungs up is ...er...mad but WELL DONE!!!!!!!

WEll done Fg! 64mins is killer time in my opinion. i use to smoke after a run (not immediately) silly, but i think it had something to do with pulsating lungs and some weird desire to fill them up!

i tell you, HS is NOT going to join this band of non-smokers...have you read the most recent threads?!! LOL, we don't sound v. successful at the mo but who cares, we helped each other through nearly a month of zero cigs and come tomorrow, we will again. Let's do it girls!!!

Oh CC, just seen your pics, the girls look lovely!! They are so pretty! I am right in remembering that Tanya's only 3.5 ? She looks older! i like the one with her ice-cream and also the one with the 2 of them ready for bed. So sweet You guys upload your pics VERY quickly!!!

I have downloaded a yahoo tool, you pick up your folder of pics, drop it on the yahoo thing and it downloads it all for you. Yeah Tanyas 3.9 now I think....have one button press camera too for easy ness.

No, haven't seen hs's other thread, is it on health section? will have a look...

girls I have a suggestion - how about to clean our heads (and lungs) and have some new start kinda feeling, we start a new fresh lovely clean thread tomorrow? What do you think????
