For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information here (follow the link at the very bottom of the page)

Oh I've been slack the last couple of days but I am starting today as I mean to go on with three oranges squeezed. I find that a good way to ease into the day - 3 portions down already (since aiming for 10, 3 in juice must be okay).

Now off shopping to replenish fridge with goodies.

Lovely pictures, Franny, what fantastic hair your ds has, he's gorgeous. I wasn't expecting your family to be blonde though, I had pictured you with dark curly hair for some reason though I barely (virtually) know you! They don't look like rocketdogs though, cons? Oh, and sorry, but the seekers joke was quite funny..

ANYWAY, yesterday crap day for veg so will write that one off, salad with jacket potato counteracted by too much wine and Maya Gold. This morning, Goji berry and Yacon root muesli porridge. Absolutely bloody disgusting. Was feeling very virtous as I made it, the berry being a superfruit and the root being probiotic, but the consistency was like slimy oyster mushroons with grainy gingery stuff so if you see it in your local health shop steer very clear. Consequently no fruit and veg so far and the rain means I'm unlikely to walk very far. Not doing very well am I.

MrsCarrot · 17/05/2007 10:11

You also look annoyingly thin

NappiesGalore · 17/05/2007 10:19

i had to study that pic of you and friend hard, francoise, to make sure friend was not my mother (!)

PavlovtheCat · 17/05/2007 10:20

Morning ladies
I am here, doing ooooo.kaaay. Ish.
Yesterday I had plenty plenty plenty of vegetables. However, it was in a take-away chinese So, not sure if it countrs...but they were yummy and tasted good...I did have two peices of fruit and a salad with a variety of things in during they day tho...
We went out to an italian for dinner the day before. It was a good Italian, posh and the food was excellent. So I will count that, as the food was fresh cooked! I had vegetable lasagne, with about 4 different veg in it, asparagus, and tomatoes on the bruscheta. and salad in my sandwich and a banana...
Toady. I have had no vegetables or fruit yet but its only 10:20am...

NappiesGalore · 17/05/2007 10:20

MrsCarrot · 17/05/2007 10:35

The rude health muesli is nice, Nappies, although I have it as porridge while avoiding dairy, but yacon muesli is foul.

Oh bloody hell Franny that's rubbish isn't it? At least it's a good sign though if doc doesn't think it's serious - but you just want to be reassured don't you? Not shooed away. How is the pins and needles now?

NappiesGalore · 17/05/2007 12:47

oh good! will you not fret now? or was the FFS you being frustrated at them doing bugger all?

fierce knickers have arrived. M&S rather than rigby and peller. havnt summoned whrewithall to try them on yet...

mrs carrot - my fave muesli is my own mix (more oat weaver than lentil weaver, but close enough for me) but havnt been arsed to make any up for ages. i also love to eat it with cold pressed apple juice instead of milk. is v refreshing and less... i dunno... kind of slimey than milk? does that make sense?
i do love milk, to drink though.

PavlovtheCat · 17/05/2007 12:59

2 veg, 1.5 fruit (ate some of DD's banana!) and 1 glass of apple juice...
and its only lunch time...
Oh, this is alright. Exercise...I am going to hang some washing out, then I am going shopping, walking around a supermarket is exercise isnt it? So is the washing as I have to stretch arms...?!

FrannyandZooey · 17/05/2007 13:56
