For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information here (follow the link at the very bottom of the page)

Tatties · 15/05/2007 20:32

Yes I know, but I'm going to be crap at it seeing as I haven't been for MONTHS, you know, it's going to be hard

FrannyandZooey · 15/05/2007 20:33

Do you like it?

OP posts:
Tatties · 15/05/2007 20:38

I like getting an hour to myself, not having to make dinner or be involved in bathtime once a week. After I had been doing it for a while I liked the fact that I was improving, and I liked what it did for my tummy. But sometimes I resented it when I found it too hard (usually the week before my period when my legs are like lead) and didn't like being told what to do

NappiesGalore · 15/05/2007 20:43

hello again

love this thread

i think of responses the whole way through my catch-up read tho, and theyre gone clean out of of head by the time i get to the wrting bit... always forget at least half...

(is soy beans in pods with salt on. moreish in the extreme)

one of my best pals, who now lives in barcelona, has a shopping trolley. there are very bright and lovely ones available over there. maybe i should set up an import business with her...

NappiesGalore · 15/05/2007 20:45

oh, and recieved confirmation email that M&S have a pair of very stern looking knickers with an alarming amount of elastic about them on their way... will report on effectiveness.

FrannyandZooey · 15/05/2007 20:49

Woohoo at stern knickers!

I have had another apple, kiwi and grapes. God am knackered. Ds suddenly very keen to ride his bike around a lot, which is great but I have to push up all the hills, wheel it myself on bumpy bits or down slopes (he is scared of falling off) and generally am achy and tired all over

Tatties I would SAY you are going then sneak off to a lovely village pub with a good book and Morrissey on your iPod

you could always hold your tummy in while you were doing it

OP posts:
Tatties · 15/05/2007 20:50
FrannyandZooey · 15/05/2007 20:51

OR Tatties go for bike ride instead

much nicer thing to do on summer evenings

and ditto Moz on headphones of course

OP posts:
FrannyandZooey · 15/05/2007 20:51

oooh what style pls? Did you find the string ones anywhere?

OP posts:
Tatties · 15/05/2007 21:09

I don't have and iPod. Or a bike. And no nice pubs nearby. I can't really ride a bike you know. I think dp would love it if I did - he is so keen on cycling... But leering over old Moz, that would score me points, yes?

I got shuffle - I think I tried on string as well, but the 'string' didn't seem to fit me too well.

FrannyandZooey · 15/05/2007 21:15

OMG at Shuffle

ooh they are delicious

oh sorry about bike and iPod thing, I knew dp had loads so thought you could filch one. I was a bike refusenik till very recently (rode a lot as child but nervy as adult) but made myself get back into it. I felt quite cross I couldn't go out for a bit with ds this afternoon when we were bored, as the brake is buggered on the one I use

Dp got me cheapy mp3 thing for Christmas - about £25 I think - worth getting I think if you are planning to do any gym / running / stuff like that

MrsCarrot · 15/05/2007 21:16

Oooh, I love rocket dogs, I had some great red ones last year with strings on and now I have gold ones! In fact my newest pumps are grey with black stripes and a bit of lace. Very 'emo'. Perhaps I'm too old for them!

FrannyandZooey · 15/05/2007 21:19

I have silver ones

hunting on eBay now, I want MORE

OP posts:
Tatties · 15/05/2007 21:30

Franny they look even better on.

My 12yo sister said "Oh you've got Rocket Dogs!" which also made me question whether I was too old for them , but she told me I wasn't

MrsCarrot I have just been having a nosey at your profile, your pictures are lovely, especially the last one, and I LOVE that name too.

I need to have a serious think about exercise... Franny how did you overcome the nerves as an adult? I don't think I would be confident at all on a bike

SauerKraut · 15/05/2007 21:42

Hello. I have been doing quite well on the exercise front, what with bike riding and long walks, but have not eaten much fruit. I have had a banana, apple, tomato sauce, tomato, and not much else, really. I have been busy looking after our 5 new kittens who appeared last night (not- the cat does all that but it's a good excuse)and arranging to trek all the way to the bloody consulate in Geneva for my passport, leaving at 5 tomorrow morning, so I can play in a concert in Dublin on Saturday.

FrannyandZooey · 15/05/2007 21:50

OMG MrsCarrot your breasts are as great as Tatties' are

Remind me if I ever get married to do it while I am breastfeeding

Tatties one of the 13 year olds I used to nanny for has the same pair of (sequinned) RocketDogs as I have The shame

On the bike thing I just got fed up of being scared of it. And as I don't drive it was getting to be a pain not to be able to go places. I just started off scooting around our estate (v quiet) and on the local cycle paths. I still don't like roads - apart from anything else I don't actually understand the highway code. The shame, mark II

SauerKraut KITTENS!!! and playing in a CONCERT!!! What do you play, sorry if I have forgotten?

OP posts:
Tatties · 15/05/2007 21:58

Ok, dp just in so I have been quizzing him about this bike malarky. He is overjoyed that I am considering it but I would be too small to have a go on any of his bikes...

SK you are having an exciting time!

Tatties · 15/05/2007 22:13

Ha! Now he's on about getting a tandem!

FrannyandZooey · 16/05/2007 08:04

LOL at tandem! Tatties is he huge? Or are you mini? Does he know about this bike to work scheme, you can get fab bikes on the cheap (we are getting me a new one in this fashion )

must rush to work but will tell you more later

at melons with bra perched on top avi. my lactating boobs were like that. i am normally (and currently) Flat of Chest, pretty much, so the appearance of pammy style knockers was an entertaining, if somewhat explosively uncomfortable interlude!

i miss having boobs

MrsCarrot · 16/05/2007 11:59

Thanks, they are, ahem, much larger than usual at the moment! I'm normally a d cup and had bought a double d for feeding but having got properly measured in Marks as I was kind of spilling out, apparently they are a double F!! God only knows what they'll look like after!
Only a flapjack so far today, and an apple, but quite a good walk and lo put on lots of weight at the clinic. Shame he doesn't seem to taking it off me.
Silver rocket dogs, Franny, they sound nice.

Tatties · 16/05/2007 12:02

Franny do tell more! Dp is normal but I am rather petite. I would need a ladies' bike.

Avi at you spending night in posh hotel. I love hotels. Shame about uncomfortable melons though. How did ds cope that long without a feed?

Despite what Franny says, my breasts are really not that great. I am not unhappy with them, they are in proportion with the rest of me, but I would often like to be flatter chested.
