**OUCH! BITTEN NIPPS THAT SWELL UP?***

VoodooBanana · 15/11/2006 13:56

Good lordie, dd had a cold which got her so frustrated as she couldnt breathe to feed that she chomped on my poor nipp, which has now swelled up into a weird white bump/blister thing and is agony to feed from.

She did it a few weeks ago to the same one, and a blood blister appeared at the tip, which disappeared after a few days of very very careful feeds.

But when I feed her she gets distracted by the slightest noise, eg me sneezing, dh coughing on other side of room, and whips her head round while still attatched. Apart from feeding her in a soundproofed box how the heck do I stop her?

She also tugs very hard on the left one, but is an angel on the right?

Any ideas?????????????
ps she is 4.5mths and I am stopping bf at xmas probably...if I can put up with this pain till then!
tar for your help

We have only done it 3 times in the last 5 months, and used condoms so I cant be anyway.

VoodooKumquat · 30/11/2006 13:38

I had better NOT be.

[jumping off a cliff emoticon]

VoodooKumquat · 30/11/2006 13:39

Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm. Only time I have ever WANTED a virus, FGS.

PinkKangaroo · 30/11/2006 15:37

Possibly the first time I've wished someone a virus

You're still bf, so although not impossible to be pg, bit more unlikely (?) ?
There are a few virusey things rolling around though. You could also just be a bit anaemic/run down.

Hope things work out for you, Voodoobabes.

Sending you a whole lot of MWAH and {{hugs}}

Your Aunty Kangaroo always here to offer a virtual shoulder no matter what

PinkKangaroo · 30/11/2006 15:41

something to make you all smile

worleywinterwonderland · 30/11/2006 20:56

oh dear, how long till you get your results. my nurse practioner at my gp's gave me the mini pill and i keep forgetting to take it, i think i will have to set the alarm on my phone or something. i realised i hadnt taken it scince last sunday ( not that could end up pregnant, similar sex life to yours vodoo!!! i need to sleep when i get to bed, other half doesnt seem to think that way though!! but its nice he works 4 nights a week at the moment!!(wink)

worleywinterwonderland · 30/11/2006 20:58

oh my wink didnt come out rightdid i use the wrong brackets? [grin}

worleywinterwonderland · 30/11/2006 20:59

oh god, lack of sleep this be

worleywinterwonderland · 30/11/2006 21:03

i couldnt get you link to work properly pinkkangaroo.

are your little ones still more interested in looking at whats going on than laying still and feeding. ds2 has had an obsession with ds1 birthday balloons today and has to keep turning round to look at them. we pulled one down for him and he tried to grap it and eat it, the things twice his size though, but if he could have got it in him mouth he would have!!

JennStarOfWonder · 30/11/2006 21:39

Don't want to make you too nervous....and your little one is 6 months younger than mine....but I'm pregnant after fully bfing......

worleywinterwonderland · 01/12/2006 11:37

if you dont mind me asking, how old was your baby when you found out you were pregnant? and had you had any periods? i still havnt had any but then i didnt start untill after i had completly finished bf my ds1 at around 6 months.

Macdog · 01/12/2006 12:32

Macdog's back!!!

Got bored of being pink and bouncy, didn't last long!!

You need sleep Worley !!
Jennster, congrats! When you due??

Voodoo, how are you today???

Auntie Macdog sounds better than Auntie Kangaroo IMHO

Am just going to see my CPN for 1st time about my depression. Hope it goes well

VoodooKumquat · 01/12/2006 14:56

oh Macdoggggg welcome back.

I am feeling a lot better, but my neck is still awfully sore and I feel a bit dizzy, now my parents have moved in and they are doing a lot to help, actually, walking dd out in pram, etc so I can sleep...
I cant be pregnant, so there is no way I am even considering that.

worley/Jennn...I havent had any periods yet, but started weaning today and she wolfed some Hipp jar or other, so the end of booby feeding is nigh.....

worleywinterwonderland · 01/12/2006 16:26

i need sleep desperatley, i had an early night last night, was in bed by 9.40pm then ds2 woke at 11pm then 2.40 then 6 and again at 7 so i got up at 7.30 after feeding and started the school prep. i enjoy waking my ds1 up early too as he was a bugger for not sleeping when he was tiny so i get my own back!!

worleywinterwonderland · 01/12/2006 16:54

voodoo, i had to start weaning 3 weeks ago as he was sooo hungry and straight away he has eaten everything (except banana for some reason?)i mix it all with rice and his baby formula as he refuses to drink it (pepti junior-it smells revoulting but as he wont drink it i have to get extra in to him when i get back to work as i cant seem to express enough.) anyway i have just been copying some recipies from that annabel karmel site, i refuse to buy her book its £8-9 when i can find them free!!!
so far he has breakfast at about 9.30 and tea at about 4.30ish and he gets so excited when he sees the bowl, his legs and arm wave and he screams at me!!its so amusing.

worleywinterwonderland · 01/12/2006 17:00

macdog, i had depressION after my first dsbut it wasnt diagnosed till he was nearly 3, so i hope you can get it sorted out sooner than later. my nurse practioner at our gps was lovely, she was the one who said i was depressed as the gp didnt seem to notice. so i have seen her ever scince, i rarely ever see my gp now!! but im glad things were sorted out and this time i know if i start to get that bad i need to seek help asap!! im wondering how i will cope going back to work, i feel sad im leaving him but in a way am looking forward to going again, and to have some extra money again.
big hugs to you

Macdog · 01/12/2006 17:41

I've a long history of depression, so luckily realise when I'm going off and get help.
New CPN seems nice. Keen on CBT so I'm hopeful
When I started weaning I did (and still do) stew different veggies in tomatoes with chicken/fish and blitz with hand blender. Now I use tattie masher for bigger lumps.
Your local library may have different weaning books. The Jools Oliver one has recipes at the back

I'm loving this thread, BTW. We're covering a wide range of topics

speak to you all soon, mwah

worleywinterwonderland · 01/12/2006 22:15

im loving this thread as well!! i think we all seem to be enjoying it!

tonight he had carrot , swede and potato all wizzed up and as he still was hungry when we got back from ds1 swimming lesson he had pear and rice also. now after a bf he is fast asleep, in his cot!!
so now i have to go build dinosaurs from lego with ds1 and then we will go to bed at last!ds1 has been warned that if he wakes up early he has to lay in bed and listen to his cd. (im a mean mummy and wont let him have a tv, he has lots of audio cd's instead and is listening to harry potter at the moment)He better not wake me up till 8am or else!!

worleywinterwonderland · 01/12/2006 22:18

p.s think of me tomorrow afternoon, ds1 is having some friends round for his birthday, i told him we couldnt afford a party this year so he is happy with having them round to play and stay for tea. but four 8 year old boys may be stressfull, if i wasnt bf i would have a large something in my plastic beaker i think!!

see you all later

Macdog · 01/12/2006 22:19

You go girl!!
Threaten that child!!!

My dd sleeping

Night night!

Macdog · 01/12/2006 22:23

BTW, Worley. A little 'something' in your plastic beaker would be perfectly understandable/acceptable.
I've had a couple of glasses of vino for the first time in ages.
I'm with the school of thought that says a wee drop when bf is ok, although I respect anyone who choses not to!

Have a good day, x

JennStarOfWonder · 01/12/2006 22:27

Christmas is coming!!!!

Erm only found out I was pregnant a few weeks ago and so not due until July I think. I haven't had a period since April last year when I got pregnant with dd.

DD is now 10.5 months old and we've been doing the baby led malarky (from 6 months) giving her solids she feeds herself (which is soooo much easier than doing recipes by the way).

Macdog · 01/12/2006 22:34

Good Evening JennStar.
I'm still in denial regarding Chrimbo!
Although did get my singing reindeer out (sings: Grandma got run over by a reindeer!)
My dd is nearly 10 months and I'm still faffing with recipes as she will insist on throwing food on the floor.
Takes after her daddy

Night night, x

JennStarOfWonder · 01/12/2006 22:40

Naaa seriously give her what you are eating and embrace the mess.

worleywinterwonderland · 02/12/2006 22:11

im making ds food , but freezing it, so last night he had potato, carrot and swede and i have frozen a weeks worth of those. after his late supper he slept from 9 till 3.30 which was lovely, (although i didnt get to have to much of an early night as i was building dinosaurs) then ds2 slept till 7 and then again slept till just gone 9am. even my ds1 managed to sleep till 9am so i had a lovely layin. although as dp was on nights ds1 slept in with me and he tends to cling to me at night, so once he is asleep i have to try and move him away a bit or he would strangle me.
