**OUCH! BITTEN NIPPS THAT SWELL UP?***

Good lordie, dd had a cold which got her so frustrated as she couldnt breathe to feed that she chomped on my poor nipp, which has now swelled up into a weird white bump/blister thing and is agony to feed from.

She did it a few weeks ago to the same one, and a blood blister appeared at the tip, which disappeared after a few days of very very careful feeds.

But when I feed her she gets distracted by the slightest noise, eg me sneezing, dh coughing on other side of room, and whips her head round while still attatched. Apart from feeding her in a soundproofed box how the heck do I stop her?

She also tugs very hard on the left one, but is an angel on the right?

Any ideas?????????????
ps she is 4.5mths and I am stopping bf at xmas probably...if I can put up with this pain till then!
tar for your help

Hello folks (whispering) I have completely lost my voice. Had to put up with dh complaining and moaning and talking hoarsely for a week, and now I've flaming well lost mine! Hope everybody had a good weekend. I bought some maternity jeans today so can breathe out now and a couple of tops.

Jennster · 07/01/2007 21:36

VoodooBiltong · 07/01/2007 22:48

what names are you considering, Jenn?

I keep thinking of lovely girls names even tho hopefully I wont be needing one for two years or so...

Beatrix
Ellis
Ellery
Elyssa

mostly the letter 'E'

or Alyssa is nice too. I love choosing the name.

hello,
i survived my first morning back at work. ds2 wasnt happy at nursery though, i rang them to see how he was and i could hear him having a crying session , they said he wouldnt eat his breakfast but had his bottle of expmilk and would try to get him to sleep.
so i rang an hour later and he only slept for 20mins but had calmed down and was happier.
maybe he will be better tomorrow.
i was really busy though so it went quick.
that 4 hours was the longest i've gone in 6 months without eating though!!!!

Congratulations on surviving the first day, Worley !!
Hopefully just ds picking up on your tension and things will improve as you both settle down.

Had brilliant day at Glasgow sales yesterday while dh was working hard
Got dd 2 new sleeping bags (one 2.5 tog and one 1 tog) she now has 3 for age 12 months to 3 years. I also invested in a 'Doidy' cup (here) for her juice. Used it for 1st time at today's snack time and it was a big success!!
She seems to be able to use it better than a spout cup, not as much got spilt.
She has just learned to wave 'bye-bye' and does the best face where she scrunches it up and snorts in and out her nose. Cracks me up every time !!!

Glad you survived the MIL, Voodoo!

Just going to put a big cauldron of food on for dd, as stock in the freezer is drastically low .
Not that dd minds, think she prefers jars to my cooking !!

Glad first day back went OK Worley. I do such long days at work, so busy, I didn't have a chance to worry about dd. She loves nursery anyway. She has never cried at being left touch wood.

Not discussing names with ANYONE. We learnt after last time. There will always be someone with a comment. Oooh but sam smelled at school, wasn't eleanor a bit wet? No offence though! We like plain old fashioned names but not too poncy or popular...... We had LOADS of names for girls last time and NONE for a boy. Luckily it was a girl, even though we were convinced she was a boy.

Just got the baby up and gave her dinner. Quick post before bath, but she looked like she was body popping when I went in to get her up after her nap. It was so funny! Sometimes when we go into her she jumps and looks really guilty like whe was doing something really naughty.

Macdog · 09/01/2007 12:45

Thought my dd was only one who did the whole 'jump up and look guilty' thing.
Mind you, she's usually up to something she shouldn't
Think I'm coming down with a bug. Got sore throat and feeling knackered . Have prescribed myself a lazy afternoon and some Toffypops as therapy!!
If only I can convince dd that she really wants a quiet afternoon too, ?? Baby Einstein DVD's may be deployed woo ha ha!!

Jennster · 09/01/2007 14:10

Hope you feel better soon Macdog. I am recovering from a really horrid chesty cough, wheezing painful sinuses and JUST go my voice back. Had 8 hours solid sleep last night and felt fantastic this morning. Got loads done in the house and now have a friend and her baby coming round for a cuppa. It has stopped raining so might go for a walk too.

Macdog · 09/01/2007 17:48

Ended up going out to shops with my mum.
Went to look at a new waterproof jacket cos mine leak. Found fab industrial warehouse with a 3 in 1 jacket/fleece combo for £30!!
Going to be a cosy Macdog out for walks now !!
Feeling better after some medicinal Toffypops!
If only taking it easy was an option

VoodooBiltong · 09/01/2007 17:59

dd slept through last night!

wey-hey.

But then you realise that you still feel crap even after 9hrs sleep?!!

maybe it takes longer than that to make up for 6mths exhaustion...

worleygig · 09/01/2007 20:55

voods, did you keep waking to check on her? i only fed ds2 once last night and the night before everytime he woke i just gave him his dummy every time he woke which was every couple of hours and he was happy with that.
he had a better morning at nursery today and didnt cry, although he refuses to eat their foods, even thought they have their own chef on site so its all home made. so friday i have to take his dinner in to.
nothings ever straight forward is it?

worleygig · 09/01/2007 20:59

i burnt my fingers on the oven tonight and they are still burning, so im sitting here tyoing with one hand while the other is in a jug of ice cold water, as its the only way it will stop stinging
i have just sat and eaten half an aunt bessies jam rolypoly to make me feel better, but instead i feel sick [vomit face] aswell.

oh i just noticed the xmas smilies have gone too, wonder if thet will do easter ones?

Jennster · 09/01/2007 21:08

Jennster · 09/01/2007 21:10

worleygig · 09/01/2007 21:19
