For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY

(if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion)

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY

(can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more)

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being.

Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Depends what you do in the club, dear. Drinking and leering scores 'null points'...

FrannyandZooey · 19/08/2006 19:03

How dare you. I don't drink

Lol! You two crack me up!

Im watching X-Factor and ohhing and arring over my very painfull what i hope are Braxton Hicks or Ligiment pains.

My lovley mummy is making me a chicken curry with loadsa veg in

Panboy · 19/08/2006 19:06

ok. Excessive leering means working your eye and neck muscles, so I guess if you do it hard enough for long enough it should count for something???

Panboy · 19/08/2006 19:08

Hi C! No, sounds like first stages of labour to me...you may not make it to the end ofthe show......AAAAGH!

FrannyandZooey · 19/08/2006 19:10

Now are there going to be many fit people at a Withnail and I club night I ask myself? Also, will be with an ex-boyf so bad form to leer, surely?

Have fun all, eat veg for me, and hope you feel better Charlee

Panboy · 20/08/2006 08:35

Fluffy friends!! Morning all.

Can't help noticing ALOT of divergences on this thread - sex and drugs and rock and roll(well, the Levellers anyway), Braxton Hicks, social lives in general, partners, children(of all things!), in laws, t.v. programmes and worst of all...thread-hoping!!!!

As a fruitand veg 'hard core' man(?), I am suspecting some of us (and we know who we are..) have perhaps lost a little focus, n'est-ce pas? And MAY need a little reminding of our goals, prego?

Panboy · 20/08/2006 08:37

and I have just put the c/hting on for the first time since May!!

FrannyandZooey · 20/08/2006 08:58

Ah, fear not Pan, we shall refocus tomorrow with a new thread. Today we shall chat, and eat broccoli, and make merry, and leer at our personal trainers.

I didn't mean to ignore your q about the League of Gentlemen, btw, but I don't watch any tv, so you are wasting your breath on me with that one.

I have a new game for us to play, hold on...

FrannyandZooey · 20/08/2006 09:29

Overrun

right I must get a grip. I am sitting in my driveway, in the car, in the rain, while ds listens to Paddington and 'drives' the car. The neighbours have just come out to say hello and I was desperately trying to hide the screen

FrannyandZooey · 20/08/2006 12:34

aviatrix and friends

I wish someone else would come and play too...

OP posts:
Panboy · 20/08/2006 18:33

Have we all stopped eating altogether, or just striking on anything healthy??

Have a casserole of veg. in the oven as we speak, and MORE srawberries for afters.

btw, what isthe best way of slicing turnips to avoid the core bit?? Anyone know??

FrannyandZooey · 20/08/2006 18:38

No answers on turnips here - we just had a load of beetroot from a friend's allotment.

I did a big workout at the gym today - how often are you planning to go, Pan, and what sort of thing have they got you doing there? They took my request for muscles very seriously and have me on some hideous regime of weights and machinery
