Heartmum2Jamie · 18/08/2006 12:34

Latest update!

Just had a lovely call from a very perky Lucy. Chloe also spoke to her briefly too after leaping up at me to grab the phone! lol

She sounds so happy and giggly and was busy looking through the Argos book to see what present she wanted from her mum and dad for being so brave!!
Although Lucy being Lucy was more worried about getting Ben and Alice something so they wouldn't feel left out! She is just the sweetest little girl!!!!

All is fine and they are discharged from the ward now to the flat and only have to go back 10.30 Monday morning before going home!!! YAAAAAAAY!!!
There is a possibility they may go home on Sunday now too but any time is fine as shes doing just so well now!
Then Lucy is back in clinic on 30th August for a checkup and beginning of October for her next biopsy.

Bev and Steve were just off to take Lucy to the Italian for lunch when we finished speaking and I'm sure she will eat lots as her new appetite is just huge apparently - lovely to hear!!

Cannot wait to get the 'We are home' call!!!!

fairyjay · 18/08/2006 12:38

kimi · 21/08/2006 19:23

Has she gone home yet?

lucyep · 23/08/2006 00:07

I just wanted to thank everyone on here for all of their kind words and prayers during Lucy's recent surgery.

We came home yesterday and all is going extremely well at the moment. We have been told to expect blips along the way, but are enjoying the good times at the moment. She isn't out of the woods by a long way yet and will need weekly checks for some time. She has another biopsy booked for the beginning of October to check for signs of rejection.

We cannot thank the donor family enough for this fantastic gift. They have given Lucy a chance of experiencing a normal life. A life where she can walk, run, jump, skip, ride a bike, a horse, go to ballet and most of all bounce on a bouncy castle. These are all things that she has had to sit and watch the other children do.

She has regained her sparkle and laughs and giggles at everything now.

We have been given a second chance with her and we will never ever be able to repay you for this. All we can do is help her achieve everything she wishes.

Thank you to everyone

xxxx

misdee · 23/08/2006 00:10

It's really wonderful to hear how well Lucy is doing. I am looking forward to hearing all about the ballet, bouncy castle etc.

What a wonderful feeling it must be to have all your family together again.

I don't know if the donor family are aware of who received their precious gift, but they have my utmost admiration for making the decision they did.
