I am already on the organ donor register, as is most of my family. I wish Lucy all the best and look forward to hearing good news soon.

fattiemumma · 06/08/2006 23:50

What fantastic news.
Sending some huge good luck vibes for her (that video has got me in tears!)

fingers crossed you get the same call soon Hun.

JanH · 06/08/2006 23:56

Oh the link wouldn't work for me before - it just did now - very moving

Hope very much this will work for lovely Lucy. (So sad though to think of that other family out there grieving tonight)

misdee · 06/08/2006 23:58

i know jan, what a wonderful family to donate organs at a time of grief. having a family member on the list does screw your head up

OP posts:
JanH · 07/08/2006 00:00

Oh, I know, misdee (well I don't know but can try to imagine) but OTOH at least they have the knowledge that their loss wasn't for just nothing, and that must be worth a lot.

misdee · 07/08/2006 00:02

i guess it would be. i had a really bad dream the other night that dd2 diwed in a car crash, and i remember saying yes to donation in my dream. like i said, screws your head up!

Sad
fattiemumma · 07/08/2006 00:04

my sister died shortly after birth. we found out later that she had a heart cndition that would have been inoperable.
i dread to think what this family must have been going through.

the greiving family will surely find solace in the fact that they will know a young life has been saved through their bravery. ,,,and make no mistake, it is a hugely brave thing to allow your childs organs to be used for donation.

they are truely wonderfull people and my deepest sympathies are with them

misdee · 07/08/2006 00:32

still waiting for news.
