my thoughts too are with Lucy and her family at this time and the family who were so strong in being able to make the donation(s) in the hope that their loss might help others. If only they knew how great that hope is and just how it is affecting so so many people. Praying for you all especially Lucy and this opportunity.

Spagblog · 07/08/2006 08:09

What a beautiful little girl. I hope she gets her new "engine" and a new lease of life

misdee · 07/08/2006 08:41

Lucy went down to theatre around 2am. the heart is in and beating, but lucy is bleeding a bit. she has an adult size heart due to the pressures or sowemthing she needs. she is going to be very poorly post-op as she has been so much. so lots and lots of positive vibes needed.

Have everything crossed for her that this all works well for her, and she is up and about as soon as is possible.

misdee · 07/08/2006 09:04

transplant week has been so positive, between Oct-April only one transplant happened IIRc at harefield. since then, particually the last 2months alone, there has been over 6. Only Peter and Ian are still in as LVAD in-patients and waiting. And now little Lucy has her chance of a new life, and my god, i want this to go soooo well for her. She is the same age as my dd1, and knowing how full of energy dd1 is, i want that for lucy so much. lucy has never been on a bouncey castle, and i want to hear about her first bouncing session soon.

Am in floods of tears after watching that - very powerful. My thoughts are prayers are with little Lucy for a positive outcome and also for all those still waiting for the call.

HonorMatopoeia · 07/08/2006 09:14

Not quite Misdee, a friend of mine had a daughter who recently went through an operation, hers ended badly but I don't want to dwell on anything less than positive on this thread. Can I just say though, that having read many of your threads (lurking usually, not posting ) that I am now looking into getting the donor card and telling my family of my wishes, so thank you for highlighting the issue for me
