You know the drill though, that one needs to be used up first lowers glasses to give (behave Chocolate!)

Some of us already have btech results, some have unconditionals, but it's a nervous time for most. Lots of Wine Gin Flowers

DS3 also hasn't got in but we sort of expected that. Just having showers then I'll take them in to get grades then we will see what we can sort.

Well done to all who have got what they needed. And of course commiserations to those who haven't.

FantasyAndHope · 16/08/2018 08:09

Dd never swears and won’t normally swear in front of me but she said mum, I’ve proved them all fucking wrong! She’s in tears
School doubted her even her boss at work doubted her
I’m so proud of her

Congrats to everyone pass me a g&t please don’t think it’s too early Hmm

FantasyAndHope · 16/08/2018 08:10

Sorry to hear that majestic. Flowers hugs
Good luck to you truffle it will all work out im sure

HeyBells · 16/08/2018 08:10

Fantasy that's great, well done your DD.

DS got into his first choice, getting grades at 9.

Downeyhouse · 16/08/2018 08:11

Fantasy - well done. How empowering for her to prove the sorry bunch wrong!! Never too early for a g and t today!

Majestic - that bodes well. At least she already has one good option.

Bobbybobbins · 16/08/2018 08:11

Well done to all your DD and DS who are getting results today!

And well done to all parents/siblings who have supported them through it.

I am an English teacher and so proud that my class have massively outperformed their targets and got nothing lower than a B. I get more nervous over their results than I did for my own Grin

Downeyhouse · 16/08/2018 08:12

Bobby - that is a great achievement by them and you!

PandaG · 16/08/2018 08:13

Truffle and Majestic really hope things work out for your DC.x

OYBBK - wonder if our DC will meet??

doistayordoigo · 16/08/2018 08:13

Fantasy She's right, she has proved them all wrong, and after the year she's had, she deserves this moment Grin

Drummer Congrats to your DS, we'll be doing the VetMed route in 3 years with DS2 so very pleased your DS has had a good outcome.

Congratulations to all who have their offers, hopefully those who don't will have found courses and unis they're happy with by the end of the day Flowers

FlappyFeet · 16/08/2018 08:14

Fantasy I love it when they price them
wrong GinGlitterball

Nettleskeins · 16/08/2018 08:18

Knitting I was thinking of the water thing too. But ds has got up. I think he has had one hour's sleep Hmm Thinking of the all the wonderful things that your ds will do/people your ds will meet next year starting this Sept, special thoughts to you both today. I am now predicting with my magic ball that your ds will do more than just pass his Music but will get a resounding grade, and from now on, they will know who Richard Strauss is..(maybe your ds knew already)

FlappyFeet · 16/08/2018 08:19

*prove

Lucycat · 16/08/2018 08:22

OhYouBadBadKitten that's fantastic news, so many congratulations to your DD and thank you for all the hand holding since this crazy process began. 😘

Lolimax · 16/08/2018 08:28

Can I join in? My DS (20) who left school with 2 GCSE’s has worked his socks off in college and is off to uni!!! I’m so proud of him.

bruffin · 16/08/2018 08:29

DDs in , she worked so hard to finish half a term early to go to america. Its 3.30am there so not sure if she knows yetGrin
I knew her results , but there was always that doubt that something would go wrong.

madnskint · 16/08/2018 08:30

DD got in for Veterinary Medicine!

EllenJanesthickerknickers · 16/08/2018 08:30

So pleased for you all! Brilliant news so far from most. Hopefully things can be sorted for the few who need clearing, Keep us updated. Have to check in on some RL friends today. StarStarStarStar

MrSlant · 16/08/2018 08:32

First choice came through on track. Wow. I am SO excited for him. Coffee then grades (although I've pointed out that he doesn't even have them and they are already pointless now Wink).

Wow.

LOVE 'all the good grades will have already gone' knitting Grin. I know exactly what you mean!

Congratulations and commiserations to all, it's just the start though, who knows what it means in even 6 months time.

Downeyhouse · 16/08/2018 08:35

Congratulations to your son Loli. That is a massive achievement.

FantasyAndHope · 16/08/2018 08:37

flappy
I agree

Dd now has a headache and is tired. She emailed her boss to confirm her leaving date there was no congratulations or anything and dd worked throughout her even during exams she worked over time for her in May half term. Her manager is really horrid to her and I just think a little congratulations wouldn’t harm

flatmouse · 16/08/2018 08:40

Too many messages, so I'll post first then read.
DS got results at 6am. Passed all (which was unexpected), but two were grade lower than expected.
We spent 1.5hrs prepping to ring uni (plan was to try to persuade them to take him anyway). Had headings and bullet points in detail!
Then ucas track came online and he'd been accepted! Tears all round 😂

Congrats to those successful and good luck to those figuring out plan b.

2gorgeousboys · 16/08/2018 08:41

DS is in for his first choice 😁. We went to school and had a stressful moment adding up UCAS points as he needed BBC and got ACC. Then a text came in from his first choice to congratulate him on securing his place.

So pleased for everyone that have got what they need and sending hope and lots of luck to those going through clearing or rethinking plans.

Celebratory breakfast here we come!

Janus · 16/08/2018 08:41

So much good news, there are so many proud people today, even if they didn’t get the grades I know we are all proud.
Is there a ‘what to pack/how to prepare for uni’ thread??

LeiatheSchnauzer · 16/08/2018 08:44

Such an intense morning for all of us. Ds got what he wanted but hugs to all those who are still sorting out the next steps xxx

Hoveringhobbit · 16/08/2018 08:50

DS is in at his first choice uni on the same course but without the sponsor, iyswim. Had been preparing for clearing, given that he had decided he didn't want to go to his insurance place, so we are delighted.

School opens at 9am for results but the excitement was obviously too much for DS and he's gone back to sleep Shock

Huge congratulations to those who have got what they wanted and commiserations to those that didn't.
