Not the end of the threads, just this chapter of life. We'll keep going, don't worry!

However! Not to be used until this one is done

DD saw about the leak on TSR and agrees it was the first question. I doubt anything will be done tbh. It is appalling but the number of people likely to have seen it is very small I’d have thought.

TheThirdOfHerName · 22/06/2018 18:43

Gnome I'll still be here.

Thesearepearls · 22/06/2018 18:51

Light at the end of the tunnel

If the Step paper was bad for your DD, OYBBK, it’ll have been bad for everyone.

End of exams on Monday here, stats and FP3.

TheThirdOfHerName · 22/06/2018 18:58

Ofqal statement from today

OhYouBadBadKitten · 22/06/2018 19:03

Pearls student room seems to have decided it was the hardest paper they've ever seen. It might be just whose posted, but it does reassure some. Fingers crossed!

FP2 and M4 on Monday, then done.

Good luck for the remaining exams.

I'll be glad when you're all finished - I'm getting a numb bum from sitting on the finishers' bench for so long.

Knittinganewme · 22/06/2018 19:11

There is a finisher's hammock in the corner there, next to the cooler with the drinks in it.

chocolateworshipper · 22/06/2018 19:21

ursula - will you stop hogging the hammock?

starfleet pass the Prosecco will you?

starfleet · 22/06/2018 20:06

I'll be sat on this bench until August. I haven't the energy to move! Pass me a bucket of coffee please if you don't mind.....

Nettles - the pink crushed velvet sounds fabulous. DS bought a blue velvet suit for prom but as they have now decided they aren't going to be too dressed up we've sent it back! He does, however, have some shiny new trainers to go with his short trousers and long shirt!

HesMyLobster · 22/06/2018 20:24

MrsAD which exam board did your school do?
DD mentioned something similar, everybody she spoke to after had got the same answer as she did but it wasn't what the answer was supposed to be?! (She did explain but it's all gobbledegook to me - something about an extra y perhaps?)
She did OCR.

I'm enjoying a g&t in the sunshine with nothing to think or worry about except which gin to try next Grin

derekthe1adyhamster · 22/06/2018 21:01

C4 was hard but that was to be expected. dOS said the comprehension? Was easy and expects to get near full marks on that. He mumbled something about ums which I font understand but Tbh I don't care! Its over and I have drunk loads at the staff BBQ tonight!

MsAwesomeDragon · 22/06/2018 21:09

We do Edexcel for A Level maths Lobster

Derek even as a maths teacher I don't really care about ums, other than for very specific times of year when I'm trying to make sense of grade boundaries for mocks, etc. And ever then my hod works out all out and I just work with it. Dd knows far more about what ums she got and how it's worked out than I do. I just don't care, it's like magic, as long as somebody knows what's going on I don't have to.

littledrummergirl · 22/06/2018 21:16

I'll still be here on Monday, the gin is good - last one out take me home please! The flooring people are coming on Monday to hopefully sort out new carpets/laminate. It feels as though the house is going to be put back together soon. I'm definitely in the mood to party. Grin

Ds1 has read through his accommodation pack, he has four options to rank in order of preference. It's been reasonably straightforward going generally cheapest first although his favourite is the most expensive but after travel costs not ridiculously so. He's put it second.

Ds2 has his prom tonight. Dh dropped him off before I got home from work so I haven't seen him all dressed up yet.

UrsulaPandress · 22/06/2018 21:57

I have never successfully got into a hammock.

HesMyLobster · 22/06/2018 22:24

I find getting out the difficult part Ursula!

GnomeDePlume · 22/06/2018 22:35

Glad to see that there will still be company on the finishers' bench.

After stats paper on Monday the FM group are planning a little presentation for their teachers who have been with them from the start. Nothing too gushy, they are mathematicians after all, but it is from the heart.

YippeeTeenager · 22/06/2018 22:49

Well, we’re done, all finished and feeling strangely numb. Thanks for sharing the journey everyone and helping to get me through it. I’d love to join you on the finishers bench but I may need to rock silently for a while before I’m ready to party Confused I expected to feel ecstatically happy but instead I feel like I need a good cry. is this normal?

chocolateworshipper · 22/06/2018 23:03

ooooh I feel sea-sick now

TheThirdOfHerName · 22/06/2018 23:05

Yippee when DS1 finished earlier this week I was expecting to feel ecstatic, relieved and celebratory. What I actually felt was exhausted and slightly numb.

It's now three days later and I'm starting to feel a bit more relaxed and positive.

YippeeTeenager · 22/06/2018 23:09

I think I’ve just put so many things off while we got through this, now it feels like they’ve caught up with me and are about to bite me on the bum! Think I need a good nights sleep and hopefully a burst of positivity tomorrow morning to move on to the next stage without feeling overwhelmed.

UrsulaPandress · 22/06/2018 23:10

I agree. It was like a slow decline.

I slept well ish last night for the first time and dd finished last Tuesday.

HesMyLobster · 22/06/2018 23:29

I feel a bit cheated that DD doesn't have a prom, so very much enjoying all the photos and living vicariously through you all and your wonderful dc!

Especially loving the thought of monopoly at prom! Grin

Knittinganewme · 22/06/2018 23:29

Yippee I was worst on the last day of his exams. It could have been that it was the day that he had two or it could have been that it was an ending and I've had too much of that this year. I expected to be relieved that it was all over and I wasn't. "Overwhelmed and anxious" - yes but "relieved" not so much

raspberryrippleicecream · 22/06/2018 23:40

Yippee you described exactly how I feel

DD has a Leaver's Dinner, which she went to with much grumbling but is apparently having an 'alright' time. Similarly the leaver's assembly this afternoon which has been the subject of much drama was in fact fun.

I've been to to DS2's choir concert this evening which was very relaxing, then to the end of my own school's post 16 prom which was fab.

Thank you all for being here to pick up the pieces! Is there a bean bag in the corner I can collapse on with my Prosecco please.

EllenJanethickerknickers · 23/06/2018 00:32

Monopoly at DS3's prom was successful. They had 7 players, one of whom was a girl! They did some dancing as well. Grin

DS2's college don't do a prom, but DS2 probably wouldn't have gone if they did.
