Not the end of the threads, just this chapter of life. We'll keep going, don't worry!

However! Not to be used until this one is done

I'm going to superglue you all down on the bench so you don't leave before Monday.

That sounds lovely too Ursula :)

We are getting away for a week, borrowing a friends place. I intend to sleep and eat a fair bit.

I have to keep posting or you drop off my TIO.

marmiteloversunite · 22/06/2018 15:52

Hamilton is amazing!! Lucky things. Hope you have a fab weekend!

PandaG · 22/06/2018 16:05

Hugs to you kitten.

Glad C4 seems to have gone well for most folk. Just one more on Monday for DS. DH and I took DD out for afternoon tea today, to celebrate the end of her exams. She appreciated it! We are all going out for dinner on Tuesday, need to think of something to do with DS on his own too.

ShanghaiDiva · 22/06/2018 16:08

Congratulations to all those who have finished.
Kitten - good luck to your dd for next week's final exams.
We are now counting down to results - two weeks until IB results are out!

EllenJanethickerknickers · 22/06/2018 16:30

Even DS2 has finished his last assignment! Phew, just his support for next year to get sorted.

When I left sixth form thirty cough years ago, the rather stuffy and old fashioned head of sixth form told us to go and 'make hay while the sun shines!' Great advice that I have shared with my DS1 and will with DS3 when the time comes. (It's not literal enough for DS2! Grin )

raspberryrippleicecream · 22/06/2018 16:39

C4 another bad exam for DD apparently!

Anyway, finished now. Glad some people are happier.

Will be sending positive vibes for next week where needed

Nettleskeins · 22/06/2018 16:47

just received a message from ds2 saying Bring Bow Tie. I had to rush over to school and give him a bow tie as he lost his nerve at the last minute to go tieless (was modelling the open necked Pierce Brosnan in Mamma Mia look) I've seen all the Prom "dwellers" bejewelled and tottering around, the dark suited young men too, ds2 the only person in pink crushed velvet(he seemed perfectly calm about it) I had better warn ds1 on no account wear anything unusual, essentially wear your school uniform Smile

fighting to get ds1 going anywhere or doing anything at present, he is surfacing later and later. He has just left the house at the very moment that dd was returning from 8 hours OUT.

Nettleskeins · 22/06/2018 16:50

oh raspberry sorry to hear that. grrr on your dd's behalf.

OhYouBadBadKitten · 22/06/2018 16:53

oh no raspberry :(

Thank you Shanghai. And thank you Panda.

Nettle your ds2 sounds amazing Grin

OMG have you guys seen the news that the C4 Edexcel paper was leaked last night on twitter and snapchat? Edexcel investigating.

HesMyLobster · 22/06/2018 16:59

GrinNettle his outfit sounds completely perfect!

Sorry to hear your DD unhappy Raspberry- remember the mantra - they focus on the little things that go wrong far more that all the stuff they do right!
And like you say, all finished now so hopefully she can relax and put it out of her mind for now, and "make hay while the sun shines" (love that Ellen)

How are you feeling now Kitten? Sorry you've had a rubbish day. I do think all the anxiety and tension from the last few weeks has to come out at some point, and it's even more likely when you're unwell.
I hope you can have some r&r over the weekend too. And lots of gin! Gin

HesMyLobster · 22/06/2018 17:00

Shock marmite! What is it with these flipping exam boards this year?!

OhYouBadBadKitten · 22/06/2018 17:05

oh no marmite, not again!!

I am doing better Lobster, thank you :) I sat in the garden by the pond for a little bit and watched bees drinking. I didn't know they did that. It should be a pretty chilled weekend now. I think dd is slightly stressed about the papers, but we are all having a day off tomorrow.

TES article about alleged Edexcel Maths leak

TheThirdOfHerName · 22/06/2018 17:15

That was from this time last year, so you'd think they'd have been doubly careful this year.

EllenJanethickerknickers · 22/06/2018 17:16

Yes, just coming on to say that the C4 leak was last year. Can't find anything credible about it being this year again. TES article is June 2017.

marmiteloversunite · 22/06/2018 17:17

Oh sorry for panicking everyone! Blush

catslife · 22/06/2018 17:17

Drinks for new finishers are ready on the bar. We have stocked up and there is now champagne, wine as well as beer and cider. Soft drinks for drivers also available.
Hope that those who are waiting til Monday are able to have some relaxation over the weekend.
Went with dd to city centre this morning was horrified at having to pay for 2 adult bus fares. Then I discovered the bus company offers young adult tickets for all 16-21 year olds so popped into the bus station with id etc to get an appropriate bus card. Sorted!

TheThirdOfHerName · 22/06/2018 17:22

Someone tweeted a screenshot of a WhatsApp conversation from just after midnight allegedly leaking the first question from the C4 paper.

OhYouBadBadKitten · 22/06/2018 17:24

The allegation is that they were charging £200 for it. I guess students would have to work together to afford that.

GnomeDePlume · 22/06/2018 18:12

DD believes that was the first question on the paper.

Last year in the end edexcel did nothing and DD doesnt believe they will do anything this year either. The question is who would pay? The people battling for and A* or the people trying to shore up a low grade?

Apparently C4 was 'okay' but not brilliant. D2 also okay but not brilliant.

I think the problem is that exam fatigue is setting in. Roll on Monday and Statistics 2 then the whole business is over.

Can someone save me a space on the finishers' bench or will you all have packed up and gone home by then?

MsAwesomeDragon · 22/06/2018 18:17

None of the kids at my school had seen that. They would have mentioned it. They all seemed to think C4 was HARD. One of the boys claimed that one of the questions must have been wrong because "we all got the same answer, but it wasn't the answer we were supposed to get"Hmm. I suspect the question was correct but the whole class has made the same error.

Dd had D1 today, says it was "as expected", which I assume means she thinks she's done well.

NoHaudinMaWheest · 22/06/2018 18:22

dd says that was definitely the first question. She remembers because she couldn't do part b.
On the whole it was ok but not as good as she hoped.
Gnome I'll be there on Monday.
Dd is panicking that it is going to be very hot on Monday. Her 'small room' is at the top of the building with one small window.
